I'm pretty happy with the tone even when slightly backed off. But I wholeheartedly agree we shouldn't have to work around their shortcomings. It doesn't take much to remove it with the tone knob like this, so why can't they come up with some sort of low pass filter or something? If they can improve the palm muting portion, this should be in the same realm.

I have my 500x attached by Velcro to a Pedaltrain PT Pro and it works fine. I usually push down on the body of the Pod before I repack it to make sure it is secure. Yes, you can remove the feet with no interior issues.

Update: I've started editing my models in workbench HD to simply back the tone knob off to between 7.5 and 9 depending on the pickups and locking them there and this guitar sounds so much better. It almost seems like the tone controls are just too trebly in general. Started using lighter picks, which was an adjustment as well, but now I'm pretty happy. Had practice last week and ran straight to PA for the first time, and everything sounded great.

can't update firmware on my brand new (used) DT50-115

That depends on if you ever want to just grab your amp and go. I also use the reverb on my amp instead of putting it in my amp models, so it frees up and effects slot and I can still choose the reverb that I want. -
Seems theres something on the way for guitarists at NAMM

I have to believe, with folks on this forum being the way they are, that if there WAS overlap, people would be up in arms that they paid for the same amp twice. Now, offering a "pick any 10 amps for $50" might not be a bad idea, because that's not "quite" a la carte and not quite a company-selected bundle. Company still makes decent profit, folks get amps they want. Seems kinda win-win to me. -

You need a usb-midi interface. M-audio Uno seems to be the most reliable. -
Super glue is what I use. I'm an instrument mechanic by trade. (The measurement/process control kind, not musical) and I deal with cuts and pokes all the time. Super glue has helped me get through many weekend gigs. Add it to your emergency guitar kit.

Rebates: How long did it take?

Update from me: still waiting for check. Been assured I'm approved and just waiting for my batch. As long as I get it in time to buy model packs for 500x I'll be good. -

I'm going to look into the Relay as well. Already use the 50, so I'm interested in not having to switch belt/strap packs to switch guitars. -
I'm gonna buy the full set. Just so if I start recording again I can use it for bass and maybe dual-amp the JCM and 5150. Usually play blues/classic rock when I'm getting paid, but like to play hair metal for fun.

Lol like you haven't been testing them for months and aren't getting it free. So cute. -
So what effects are in the bundles besides the amps? I see a few cabinets, but other than the global EQ, I don't see any new effects. Spill it!

I guess I grew up calling them firebirds.

Like I said in the other post in the Variax forum: I like that you named your new board after a character from the Borderlands 2 video game.
-
Whole lotta hype for nothing. Naming their new pedal board after a character in Borderlands is cute though. I can't wait for the Mario XLHD. Global eq is long time coming though, so that's nice. $100 for how many more amps? Remastered JCM? I think they mean "fixed". Meh, gripes aside, I'll probably fork over a Benjamin for the pack.

Those are words to live by cruisin! -
I use graphic eq in my latest patches. Just boost middle three frequencies by about 0.6 and it makes it pop out without too much volume. Seems to be just enough to push it to the front. Ymmv.
