With the device showing the boot failure message, try running the Line 6 Updater program.
  2. ..... ooops..... looks like I need help in remedial arithmetic (not even complex enough to be called math!). Thanks for the correction. The irony is I was once a high school math teacher. Like they say, those that can’t do... teach! Glad you got it sorted out.
  3. I think by ‘fine tuning’ he means intonation. That is done by moving the saddles (where the strings sit on the bridge) back and forth slightly to fine tune the octaves. Lightly touch each string at the 12th fret, one at a time, to produce a harmonic. With a tuner, move the saddle for each string forward or backward until the harmonic tone is exactly in tune (an octave higher) with the open note.

Hello Sergey Alexander. Welcome to the forum! You should first download HX Edit v3.01. The download file is an installer package which will install all components that you need: the HX Edit program, the compatible version of Line 6 Updater, and all necessary drivers. These should automatically replace anything that’s already installed. After installing everything (all at once!) connect your Helix via USB and run the HX Edit program. It should alert you to the presence of a firmware update and guide you through the firmware installation process. Good luck, and don’t hesitate to ask more questions.
  5. That’s correct. So preset 347 is number 109 in Seltist 3 (347 - (2*128) = 109). That makes it preset 28A (109 - (27*4) = 1).
  6. Shut down your Helix device. Download and install HX Edit v3.01. Select to install all components. Then turn on your Helix device and run HX Edit v3.01. Follow the prompts to install the v3.01 firmware. btw..... Line 6 firmware updates are comprehensive. You don’t have to install the intermediate updates, just the most recent one.
  7. We all learn bit by bit. Don't be afraid to keep asking questions. There are no dumb questions - only people who do a dumb thing by not asking the question. ;-)
  8. It's the ASIO4ALL driver that is not ASIO compliant. A DAW, whether Audacity or Reaper, is neutral as far as ASIO compliance is concerned. However, Reaper does not use ASIO4ALL as its default driver. You will more easily be able to configure Reaper than Audacity to use the POD Go and the Line 6 ASIO driver as the audio device.
  9. Wait.... you’re saying the Glitch Delay has a glitch? How could one tell??? ;-) Is it a glitch, after all?
  10. The only good way (imho) to do what you want is to connect your desktop speakers to your HD500X outputs each time you want to use them for that purpose. But are your JBL speakers not superior quality? Why not use them? A suggestion: use your HD500X as your computer’s soundcard by connecting it via USB to your computer. Leave your JBL speakers connected. If necessary set your Windows 10 Sound settings to use the HD500X as both the audio input and output device. With this setup all sound from your computer (DAW, iTunes, YouTube, etc) will be routed to your HD500X and then through the JBLs. Your live guitar playing will be heard there as well. One potential issue: you mention Audacity as your DAW. By default Audacity uses a fake (non-compliant) ASIO driver called ASIO4ALL. It is known to cause problems when used with fully ASIO compliant devices like Line 6 devices. Avoid using ASIO4ALL. If necessary move to another DAW that supports ASIO properly.
  11. Being one of the ancient ones here.... ;-)....... You may be interested to know that Line 6 used to provide information about pending updates, including specific dates about when a new firmware release was expected to be available and what it was expected to contain. However, software development being what it is, they sometimes missed that self-imposed target. They got a huge amount of grief from users who were upset that the ‘promised’ release was not on time or did not contain Feature X as expected. Line 6 stopped providing pre-release info for that reason.
  12. I think those are all good suggestions. Have you started an Ideascale entry for each of them?
  13. Any clean amp will be OK. I like it with no guitar amp and the Studio Tube preamp. Suggested Settings: Line sensitivity; Gain approx. 2; Level 10; play around with Hi/Lo cut - they make a big difference. I also use an acoustic guitar IR as the first block in the signal chain. Google "Free Acoustic IRs".
  14. Just a lame attempt at humour. There’s a regular pattern on these forums (pretty much all products) of users constantly anticipating the next firmware release and anxiously inquiring about it. It usually begins quite soon after any firmware release so I was just trying to have a little fun by taking the practice to the extreme. It won’t be long before the next series of enquiries about this begins for real. I predict that some time soon after Helix v3.10 drops POD Go users will start asking when they are going to get any new models that Helix users will then have. In fact I believe you were among the first to ask about this most recent update. Your thread specifically references Helix v3 firmware which was released only two weeks earlier. Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that you and others shouldn’t be asking about future firmware releases. Just saying that it’s predictable here, and tends to happen soon after another product gets an update. I find it humorous and was just poking a little fun at the practice by taking it to the extreme in being the first to inquire about the next update immediately after the current one.
  15. Q1) No, that’s not right. There is actually a huge difference between the two. The Aux input can be selected as a path Input and routed along the signal processing path. If not selected as an Input the signal is not processed and does not appear at any Output. The CD/MP3 input does not need to be selected. The input signal is routed directly to the Outputs and is not routed internally to the signal processing. The cd/MP3 input is Line level. The Aux input is selectable I believe - Instrument or Line level. 2) Same answer as above. Only the CD/MP3 input is routed as you describe.
  16. Not quite. A factory reset is different from a firmware update. A reset restores all factory settings and presets to the state defined by the currently installed firmware, which may not be the latest. To reset the device: The most recent firmware version for your HD500X is v2.62
  17. You don’t need Monkey for the editor but you do need it to install firmware updates. Perhaps that’s where you got the idea. And it’s unlikely that there will be any more firmware updates for the POD HD product line so you’ll probably never need it.
  18. The good news is ..... this likely won’t happen again. As of HX Edit v3.01 Line 6 has fixed this problem. The automated update process ensures that the installed versions of the editor and the firmware are compatible.
  19. I can’t suggest a strategy to deal with your customer, but I can offer a strategy to prevent future technical issues like this. As of HX Edit v3.01 Line 6 has improved the update process so that the user should no longer have incompatible versions of the firmware and editor. Download and install HX Edit v3.01, including all packaged drivers and other software. Run HX Edit v3.01. It will alert you to any available device firmware updates, prompt you to perform the update, and manage the automated update installation process.
  20. I would open the packaging enough to identify the serial number and attempt to register the device to my Line 6 account. If the serial number has already been registered I would demand a replacement from the dealer based on that fact, and report them via support ticket to Line 6 if they refuse. If you are able to register it successfully I would begin to use the device and be on the lookout for any immediate issues. If anything is defective, return it within the dealer’s return period. If you don’t notice anything wrong within that period then there is probably nothing wrong with it. After that your device remains covered under the Line 6 warranty.
  21. Download and install HX Edit v3.01, which will also install drivers and other associated software. Run HX Edit v3.01 and follow the prompts to install firmware v3.01 on your Helix device. Then try importing your setlist again.
  22. Is there a Line 6 device involved? If not I think you’ll get better support in the mic manufacturer’s forums.
  23. What versions of HX Edit and HX Stomp firmware are you using? The HX Edit program displays the device firmware version in the bottom area of the display. To determine the HX Edit version use the Help-> About menu.
