  1. There is a noticeable difference in the volume levels. That is normal and has been that way from the beginning; it's not new behaviour with this firmware. I don't know why it was designed that way, and I don't know what the specs are.
  2. No - not compatible. The Pod HD presets (except dual path presets) can be manually recreated in Firehawk with some restrictions, but not imported / transferred electronically.
  3. Took what down? I didn't change a thing in my original reply. What did you think I said?
  4. The reason I said bye is because that's what the OP was saying. He didn't ask for information. He didn't ask for help. He didn't seem to want any response at all. He was just saying goodbye. And it seems he meant it because he hasn't reappeared here. If he does reappear perhaps he didn't mean it after all, and will clarify what he did actually mean by his post if something else. He said goodbye, and I responded in kind.
  5. Re-reading your post - you don't mention what Line 6 device you have. You posted in the X3 forum - is that what you have? The HD Model Packs will only work with a dual-path Pod HD device: the HD Desktop, 500/X and Pro/X.
  6. I suspect it has something to do with the electrical wiring at your friend's place. I wouldn't worry about it unless it appears at your usual place of play.
  7. The Firehawk FX supports Variax model selection and Tone knob settings (not volume) for all Variax models. For JTVs it also supports alternate tunings. All these settings are stored and recalled on a per preset basis.
  8. Not sure what response, if any, you are expecting. Hope you enjoy your next guitar.
  9. Of course it is. It happens, very predictably, with almost every major update of any product. The vast majority who are satisfied and have no issues with the update remain silent. The few who have issues can be very vocal about it. To satisfy your curiosity, how about counting the actual number of people (not posts) who have expressed their dissatisfaction? Let us know how many it takes to 'light up' the forum. In fact, also count the people who have expressed their satisfaction. Then, recognizing the presence of the silent majority, we might have some interesting numbers to talk about.
  10. It's on page 11 of the L3t Quick Start Guide, list item #10. http://line6.com/data/6/0a06434d9ac8502007180aca2/application/pdf/StageSource%20L3%20Quick%20Start%20Guide%20-%20English%20%28%20Rev%20C%20%29.pdf I have not noticed any signal degradation using quality adapters. I use them regularly in various situations. You can avoid adapters by purchasing the exact cables you want - they come with 1/4" one end and RCA the other, in a joined stereo pair, if you want them.
  11. Correct, and that's as expected and designed. Unless the speakers are connected via L6 LINK, they operate completely independently. Neither one has any concept that there is another speaker in the system, and they don't do anything together. They simply play whatever the user has connected via the inputs. It's up to the user to manage any desired stereo sound. That's what you are doing when you feed them two L/R mono inputs from the HD500 separately - one to each speaker, without the L6 LINK connections. Each speaker simply plays what you feed it, and you arranged it to be a stereo sound. Of course, since they are not connected, there's no way to get any true stereo inputs from one speaker to the other. But with the 2-way L6 LINK connection they can communicate and manage all the stereo inputs together. But you have to feed it the stereo signal using the stereo Aux inputs**. If you just feed each speaker a separate mono input (like the two L/R mono outputs from the HD500) then of course each speaker treats it like the mono input that it is, and centers it. Hope that makes sense. btw, the adapters are not rare. Any audio store will have them. 1/4" female to RCA male. They're very inexpensive. ** You could also use the combined XLR / 1/4" input on the L3t rear panel with a stereo TRS 1/4 jack, but you'd still need a Y-adapter that takes the two 1/4" TS inputs from the HD500 and merges them into a single 1/4" TRS output. That way the L3t also knows that it is receiving a stereo input and responds accordingly.
  12. They are the same. Differences in the update experience boil down to differences in the users' computer environments. The most common problem is usb connectivity, the reliability of which depends on many things - most of them in the computer.
  13. That's entirely possible and will vary from preset to preset. You'll have to inspect each preset to find out.
  14. On the Keypad (Pod X3 Bean) you'll see a button labelled Tone 2 / Hold for Dual. Press to toggle between Tone 1 and Tone 2 (you’re editing Tone 2 when the button is lit). Press and hold to turn Dual Tone on or off. On the X3 Live you use a footswitch rather than a button; same idea.
  15. Sorry if my poor attempt at humour offended you. I agree with you - the advertising, as well as the manuals, should reflect current reality.
  16. You can always switch them on/off without using a footswitch. Select the FX model in the signal chain and then hit the ENTER button.
  17. How exactly do you have the HD outputs connected to the L3t inputs? Which outputs/inputs are you using? Connecting to one speaker or both? There is one setup I can think of that would explain your results. If you are using the combined XLR / 1/4" inputs on the rear panel of each speaker, either with the HD XLR outputs or 1/4" outputs and a (mono) TS cable, each of the speakers will consider that to be a mono input and center it in the stereo spectrum. In order to hear the stereo you need to be using the Aux L/R inputs on the rear panel of only one speaker. Use an RCA adapter if required. If that still doesn't work then I would be very interested to hear the response from your support ticket.
  18. Can you try this test - do you hear the stereo sound using headphones connected to the POD headphones output?
  19. I guess they went back into Workbench, along with the other hundreds of different models that can be (re)created there. :P
  20. The new presets are in the new firmware, but of course only if you chose to replace your existing presets during the update process. Also make sure you reset the global settings and recalibrate your pedal after updating.
  21. I expect these model packs are transferable, just like the old XT model packs are. Not sure though.
  22. Try reducing the Amp DEP Master volume on the 5150. Some people are finding the default value too much.
  23. Before returning it I would experiment with the Master Amp DEP parameter. I've heard that some people find the default value too high. Try reducing it.
