  1. Have you opened a support ticket yet? I think you need to work directly with Line 6 tech support on this.
  2. I suggest you do what the message says: open a support ticket to inform Line 6. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  3. You can use a midi interface between your HD500X and your laptop, and connect them using midi jacks and cables - not the HD500X audio output. But this won't do what you want because the HD500X has no guitar-to-midi note detection capabilities. It will allow you midi control over some things like program change commands and midi CC commands but I don't think that is what you want. The short answer is that the HD500X has no ability to translate guitar audio to midi note events and send them to your computer. You need to continue to use GuitarPro6 or something similar.
  4. What tones are you trying to import? I have seen this issue in the past with old tones that were created with early versions of the firmware - like pre-v1.8 or so. The issue was a corruption in the old tone files. The workaround was to import the files individually until you found the culprit, then leave it out of the setlist. EDIT: The issue was resolved as of firmware v1.43. Presets created in earlier firmware may be corrupted. Here's a snip from the release notes: ...... POD HD500 firmware v1.43 POD and HD500 Edit v1.08 prevents invalid data from being introduced into presets......
  5. Have you opened a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 tech support to help you resolve this? I think that would be your best option.
  6. What is 'the board'? Do you mean the HD500X or some other mixer/PA system?
  7. Not sure what you are saying. There are no new presets that use the new amps in the purchased model packs. If you have the new amps then the only thing you may be missing is a new setlist contained in the new firmware. This new setlist is primarily designed for users with Variax guitars but it is also useful for non-variax users. One user here (username hurghanico) has posted that setlist in another thread. Search under his username and tuo will be able to download that setlist and install it using HD500X Edit. Don't forget that after you install the firmware you need to perform a global settings reset and calibrate the pedal. Instructions are in the FAQ under the Support tab.
  8. No - not possible with the POD HD devices.
  9. How are you monitoring your sound? You should be using the Pod audio outputs. Also, make sure you are using a USB 2.0 port, not USB 3, and make sure you are using the Pod's ASIO driver.
  10. You can do that by opening a support ticket (see Support tab above).
  11. Because it's not an HD model. It was ported from older XT technology when there was no separate preamp modeling.
  12. Have you opened a support ticket with Line 6?
  13. I use these and have found them to be great for my non-professional needs. http://www.amazon.com/Beyerdynamic-DT-990-Pro-250-Professional-Acoustically-Applications/dp/B0011UB9CQ
  14. That's a good idea. And it's not foreign to Line 6. The M20d mixer has a concept of a 'Setup' that includes a lot of settings that are designed to be venue (and band) specific. Don't see why it couldn't be down-scaled to Global EQ only, and applied to a multi-FX device. EDIT: May be a bit late for the Pod HD devices, given that the one Global EQ appears to have maxed out the device resources (e.g. global EQ is not available for the several L6 LINK send points due to resource constraints). But certainly should be considered for future.
  15. Clearly the former is true. In my several years here I have never seen any evidence of the latter, in any product line - except in the device editor.
  16. There is no text-based listing of the factory presets such as you are requesting. The electronic documentation provided by Line 6 is in the form of the preset file and the AMPLIFi app. That's it. If you want text-based format you will have to create your own. If you want graphic-based format perhaps there's a way to print the desired screen displays from the app; I don't know how to do that - but I expect 'there's an app for that'.
  17. I find the Firehawk factory presets to be much better than the the Pod HD presets, with the exception of the newest HD Setlist called Variax. I think Line 6 put more effort into creating good presets out of the box with Firehawk and that carried over to the latest HD presets. I hope it's a good omen and that it will carry on. I wouldn't extrapolate to saying the Firehawk is capable of creating better tones overall, but imo the factory presets certainly sound better.
  18. Hmmm.... You are right - my post has been modified. I am very surprised and a little concerned. My post did have the 'bye' statement, and I did not remove it. But it is now gone. And you are also right - it was either me or a forum moderator. And unless I am losing my memory it wasn't me. Because of that I am responding again rather than leave an impression of dishonesty on my part. Frankly I do not know who changed it, but I would like to find out for my own reasons. Here are the forensics as far as I know: If I recall exactly I was the first responder to the OP, and my post said: "Not sure what response, if any, you are expecting... but... bye. Hope you enjoy with your next guitar." And you are right - the 'enjoy your guitar' part - even the grammatically incorrect part that has also been edited out - was added a minute or so after I posted the first sentence. You must have seen the initial post immediately. I often make a post and edit it immediately with an afterthought. Beyond a few minutes I either make a new post or acknowledge the edit. As for the vote count, the display shows the net sum of all votes, down and up. The zero total indicates that another member gave it an up vote after you had already seen the down vote. I don't want a fight either. I simply don't see anything inappropriate about my response and I am not being dishonest about the changes that were made to it I acknowledged the fact that I said 'bye' in an earlier post. I never said 'see ya later'. We can agree to disagree about whether it was crass, callous, cold, or whatever. I don't care to debate that further. Other than the grammatical error (the word 'with' which I decided to leave in rather than edit out - that's why I know it was there) I am perfectly comfortable with my original post. I share your views on maintaining a civil and polite forum, and I thank you for saying earlier that for me to seem otherwise is, in your opinion, out of character. I also appreciate your pointing out to me that my post was changed. I intend to look into that - perhaps I AM losing my mind! Peace.
  19. Interesting... but what happens when you switch to a preset that uses a different cab? EDIT: or, I guess you mean a physical guitar cab using Pod HD pre-amps without mic/cab simulation?
  20. No. Still can't be done due to the different device architectures and preset file structures.
  21. There is a noticeable difference in the volume levels. That is normal and has been that way from the beginning; it's not new behaviour with this firmware. I don't know why it was designed that way, and I don't know what the specs are.
  22. No - not compatible. The Pod HD presets (except dual path presets) can be manually recreated in Firehawk with some restrictions, but not imported / transferred electronically.
