Well you will be looking at something like an Alto TS112. Then you go HD -> house pa and stage (your FRFR). A self powered speaker is an all in one easy to go system. Check out some of the threads for what the fellas use. I've ran an HD through my PA and it does sound great but I am not going to drag that system around with me. :)

Yes they can and many of the guys here use them. I use a power amp/cab but am not trying achieve home theater-esque playback.

Spider IV 75 does not recognize FVB Express MkII
BillBee replied to aLExnDEr72's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
You can connect the MKII to the PC via usb - so try that to check it with the Control software. If the cable is good its one or the other. -
IMO you should probably not be using a guitar cab which is not FRFR. Power speakers are what you should be investigating.

Being a gear lollipop myself I understand whole heartedly Steve. :) The Bias Distortion pedal demoed last week already has caught my eye and has the wife screaming "No, not another pedal!!" She'll get over it! :D The Katanas I have to say are on the radar! But the 70' lb Duoverb combo/end table I picked up a few weeks back are having me lay low for a bit.

Dude, I really hate to tell you this but a new version of Gearbox probably will never happen. The best to hope for would be a work around from our talent pool here.

Hey Steve, Some time back I got a survey asking about PF and my opinions on integration of the HD tones. So I would say, more than likely there is something cooking. But the L6 guys (there must be some L6 gals too btw) play by the "loose lips sink ships' mantra. Look how the Spider V popped out of its web!

Dude, welcome to the (floor)board :) I use the Bean too and what Silver sez is true. Skip the HD300/400 but you can open them in edit to see what they comprised off (IIRC) no pod plugged in mind you (be sure to get the right HD editor too there is a HD300Edit/HD400 Edit.......). When going 500/500x in they will generally convert no problem but watch what assigns will be given for the switches. Generally, only some DSP intensive 500x patches give issues due to the bit of extra DSP it has. Try dropping and dragging the patches too - its been a while since I have DL'd anything but I thought that actually worked but if not the preset converter, linked above, worked well. BTW don't judge the awesomeness of the HD off of the Custom Tone patches you get (if that is what you have planned). There are a ton of stinkers in there (different: amps, guitars, pu's and tastes). \m/ Rock On! \m/ B

Page 4-3 in the manual - Mixer View, at the top you can select the input for your hardware.

#1 - you had to have purchased the model packs at some point in time. Some people sell the XTL's with the model packs loaded but never transfer the license for them (not saying you didn't buy them but just in case you didn't know). #2 - if you bought the model packs they are tied to your user account (you got an email sometime in the past from L6 saying "thanks"). #3 - connect the XTL to your computer, start the L6 License Manager and authorize the XTL to use the model packs. If things still are not working then Support Ticket is your way to go. -B

Not the "master of your domain"? It happens to all the frequent debaters - enjoy the nap. :D

You have to go into HDEdit and assign the footswitch to the wah/vol - fs1 IIRC. Just putting a wah in the signal chain is half the job. :)

Put it in front or use the FX loop to insert where you would prefer to have it.

Spider IV 150hd Cab Cables and Cat6?
BillBee replied to Exsomos's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
I just took another look at the Spider IV 150 head on Sweetwater's site and I can only see what looks like the TRS for the phones/direct-out not the speaker outs (you had me thinking I was nuts). :) -
I can't use the heavy guitar sound in gearbox
BillBee replied to sayonalahk's topic in GearBox (Legacy)
Perhaps the model you are trying to use is from one of the model packs (like big bottom for ex.). -
................and you have to stand up and press the toe doe with some weight behind it. The toe switch is pretty stiff so sitting down is not going to work.

PodXT Live auto wah randomly comes on
BillBee replied to DigiAngel's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
Haven't seen that one but it might be the ribbon cable from the main board to the exp pedal daughter board needs to be pushed back snug. They can (albeit rarely) come a bit loose after a decade of being lugged around. :) If the exp pedal is not toe down when it does this and the cable is firmly in its place it might need to see the L6 Doc. -
Spider IV 150hd Cab Cables and Cat6?
BillBee replied to Exsomos's topic in Spider IV / Spider Online
From what I saw regular speaker cables are fine for the amp to cab connection. The 150 HD just has left and right outputs from what I remember - which both need an 8 ohm load so be sure not to run only one out. Not sure where the TRS mention came from. Cat 5 is still out there my man - Amazon is a source. That said I've not looked up the diff in Cat 6 other than it is higher speed, so I say just get Cat5 somewhere. -
Guitar Port can not access POD Farm 2.59
BillBee replied to agussurachmanto's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Most likely you are authorized to use Pod Farm 1 not 2. You can always shoot an email to support but usually that is the case.- 1 reply

O Yes my man!! The Mighty SpaceAtl cracked the code on that a while back:. Here is the link and I'll paste the text to save it in case it gets archived at some time. -Bill http://line6.com/support/topic/2177-4-cm-the-hd-pod-bean-oh-yes-this-works/ This is a thread I posted a long while back that is in the old forum...Just figured I would bring it here after it came up in a thread earlier today...enjoy! ------------------------------------------------------- So I have been meaning to sit down and do this for a couple of weeks...Life kept getting in the way...But I finally had a little time to re-spin the patches I need for an upcoming show using the HD Bean...And yes, you read this correctly...I am using the bean in 4 Cable Mode. It works like a dream... I have a DT50 and for this show coming up I am need just a few more FX than my HD400 can muster...It's close, but I really needed some of the programable footswitch stuff...And the HD Bean has enough FX blocks that I only really need two tones (Clean and Crunch) and I can get the rest of what I need using stomp blocks...However the caviat is that I can bypass the DT50 preamp if I like and use a pre model from the HD Bean...and 8 FX blocks... You have to change the setup around a little to get this to work....I am using a female 1/4-> male XLR adapter to HiZ the mic input...turn the trim all the way down and it takes line level just fine... The DT50 is all unbalanced, so in that case I need all typical unbalanced cables... Cabling up GTR-> HD GTR Input HD Left Out->DT50 GTR Input DT50 Send->HD Mic Input adapted HD Right Out-> DT50 Return In the setup menu, change input 2 to mic and input 1 is guitar... For this to work, setup the chain as a dual tone patch with each amp set to NONE...For the FX blocks you want before the preamp, put those on the LEFT (TOP) Chain...For the stuff after the preamp, put those on the RIGHT (BOTTOM) Chain...mixer should be the last thing in the chain...Make Left is panned all the way Left and Right is all the way Right... I am using a conventional channel switch with the DT50 and an FBV shortbiard with the HD Bean... DT50 channels NFL2 Class A Pentode patch on A and an NFL4 Class AB Pentode on B...A is fairly clean with a hair of dirt when strings are spanked hard...Channel B is moderate Crunch with the Drive around 1 oclock... I have included one of my more basic patches to get anyone started that is interested in trying this...To use it, change the extension to hbe and enjoy!
