Hey my man, welcome to the board. With the wealth of info you provided I can only guess and say recheck your connections and go into the amp's FX loop. Try it with head phones too. -B

Don't confuse using the 4 Cable Method (4CM with a tube amp) with running the HD into the power section of a tube amp (via FX loop). The most problems tube guys can run into is the 4CM (lots of variables and then there is control) but a Pod of any flavor ran into a tube power amp can be really sweet. Just $0.02 mind you. :)

You should start there so you don't blast yourself with it. :)

Is your cab 8 ohm stereo? _____ <- is your answer. Reading the manual will help you as it goes over all the ins/outs and there is a FAQ here somewhere on using cabs.
-
The HD150 is a stereo head that requires both to be connected to 8 ohm loads. But fear not you can always changes the cab's jack plate and rewire for 8 ohms a side depending on what speaker are already there.

More than likely it is a problem with your PC recognizing the HD300 (unless it is a used HD that already had problems). Try using a different USB port. If you still cannot get it to work, in order for someone to really help you, list your OS.

The FBV Express will allow you to switch between the 1st 4 presets, use the tuner and vol/wah. To navigate you walk up to the unit and spin the knob. :) Yeah it seems nice and is good in a pinch but you really want the FBV MKII Shortboard (you know you do). A used one will run you close to the price of what a new FBV Express runs. The MKI is not too shabby either (missing the looper switch IIRC) the display is a bit larger.

Hey my man! Welcome to the forums! Yep the XTLs still can deliver the goods (my ole GNX2 has been collecting dust for years too) :) -Bill- 1 reply

If you are set on going the stereo route with cabs then get a stereo power amp and run each out to different cabs. Or you can get 2 different powered FRFR speaker and do the same thing.

Good thread with gold comments up there. :) Nothing worse then volume wars. When we had a 2nd guitarist he would just crank the amp (in a basement where the ham fisted drummer was already deafing us). Reason was he was not used to a 2nd guitarist and was comparing what he was hearing to what he was used to. 2 guitars compliment each other and live, should blend in (except solo time). Brought in tilted amp stands and then I started bringing in a digital recorder for "level checking" night (it might take a bit to find that neutral spot to record from). Only when the guys heard how the mix was screwed was the problem addressed - everyone turned down to human levels and then we made one change at a time. Or PG's advice works too. :D

I don't think so - as I recall, you have to manually shuffle them.

The XT can always go in the fx loop of the Flexy. :)

Yep they can be used on more than one device (I think its 4 or 5 actually). But I don't think the Flexy can't take a model pack.

Ouch! That sucks "both boards" too. I don't know if us mortals can buy the main board (and there is an ID chip that must be transferred if you do btw). But try and see if you can back up the bundle off of the pc. In the end it will be cheaper to buy another unit then. It may have some resale as a "non-functioning" unit on FleaBay. I have seen some crazy auctions on there for units like that.

Buy another Podxtlive or fix up current one??
BillBee replied to bensjamin's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
If you are wealthy then the sky is the limit! The only way to get another one will be used and that is always a gamble (no matter where you obtain it from) - could go a long time or 1 day who knows? At least GC gives a 30 Day return (IIRC). But if you are going to keep with the XTLs a backup is never a bad idea. You could take your XTL apart yourself and grab a can of DeOxit. Then you could go in and clean all the wee little micro switches, jacks and whatever else moves. The tactile switches are usually the #1 cause of the footswitch malfunction. -
When you say "you can't get compatible downloads" what do you mean? You can't download from Custom Tone? The FPP rejects them as invalid? If you have the FPP connected and the Vyzex editor sees it you should be good to go.

Well that sucks some lollipop. Contact Line 6 and have your support docs ready (dates and the whos and whats) if they believe that a repair that they did was faulty they will usually jump on it like a mad dog.

Ha ha! Yep we have all been there. The AX never really needed a loop as it is a beast on its own. Some Spider's don't have a loop either and the aux in is what is used.

BillBee replied to idiedohwell's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Hmmm did you change anything? Does PF work otherwise? -
Pod 2.0 controls not working - suggestions?
BillBee replied to bsjmcscs's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
You can try resetting it if you think its stuck: power on while holding the up and down arrows - hold them until it pops to patch 1-A. If that doesn't do it, its guessing time. it could be the memory (reflash), failing power supply or something internal that would require service. I have seen "a" pot go bad but not all at once. You can always submit a Support Ticket (link is below "Support") if nothing else works as the L6 chaps can then help you directly. -B -
I am not a DAW master but the normal trip is forgetting to set up a separate track for the vocals. Its been a while but IIRC I had to go into HD Edit and route two chains too #1 for guitar and #2 for vocs. Hard pan left and right to keep them separate. The mic should be picking up the amp now - watch your levels. :)

POD HD500x mic recording
BillBee replied to WillM96's topic in Computer Audio Setup and Troubleshooting
If I read the above correct: The mic in should route the vocals out the HD into what you have set the output to (like your amp). Unless you have a second path setup for the mic and route its output to something else. Now if you mean you are just trying to record vocals into your DAW then it might be a setup up question for the DAW or HD. The sound coming out of the amp is normal as the HD becomes the soundcard and is using the amp as the monitors. -B -
Going in the front will probably suck, the aux input might be your best bet (I don't remember there being an FX loop for that amp). You should play around with the X3's output modes to see what sounds best too.

line 6 pod xt live is not valid!
BillBee replied to prophecies_1's topic in POD 2.0, POD XT, Pocket POD, FloorPODs
You are probably not screwed. I would uninstall everything L6 and then make sure you have download all the current versions of Monkey, Drivers etc.... If you can get Monkey to see the unit things should be cool.
