Hey there, I don't have a SV, so what free software were you supposed to get and did you check the DL area (link is above Support)? -B

One thing I learned (from Duncan IIRC) is watch for ear fatigue when dialing in tones. Its that phenom where the night before everything sounded sweet during that 4 hour tone building marathon then the next day with fresh ears it sounds like lollipop.

Was that the B-Stock unit you got from Thomann back in early Sept? Glad it worked out for ya. ;) Tones and mfx are always subjective unless you find people who have an ear for what you are looking for. Now if you had asked "is it djent?" that would be different. :D

You would have to go into Custom Tone (there is a link above). But I am telling you don't get too stoked about the gazillion HD patches there - different gear will affect how the tones sound on your setup and some tones just flat out blow lollipop. So you hope to find a tone in the ballpark and edit it to your needs. -B

I keep thinking of Ritchie Blackmore and the abuse he used to attack the bar. IIRC he eventually had a monster one built that withstood the onslaught. :) and from Sixteen Candles: No more yanky my wanky! -> forgive me its early :D -B

FWIW: when the wah is turned on the vol goes to max (as the switch is going from vol to wah), to keep that from happening an external exp pedal ''exp2'' should be used if the vol jump is too much. Hopefully a pedal recalibration will do the trick. -Bill Via our Guru Silverhead: Re: POD X3 Live Wah by silverhead on 2009-11-04 18:56:30.9560 It's not in the manual - here's the snip from a FAQ document: Q: How do I calibrate the Expression pedal on the POD X3 Live? A: 1. Go to test mode by holding down 'Right' on the directional pad when you power up. 2. Highlight Pedal Cal. 3. Press the INPUTS button. 4. Set the pedal to the heel position. 5. Press the A footswitch to get data on pwm duty cycles. 6. Set the pedal to the toe position. 7. Press the B footswitch to get data on pwm duty cycles. 8. Press the C footswitch for automatic selection of the best duty cycle. 9. Move the pedal to get smooth 0-255 Scaled Values. 10. Press the D footswitch to save the settings. Hope this helps!

LoL!! Yes, to the spite list you go with your wee shreddy fingers, whilst I go learn to tie shoes with my giant ham mittens. ;)

The production and compositions have been really nice across the board, and really reminds me to stop hammering the Zakk Wylde type licks and return to phrasing. The phrasing in TaoT (to me at least) is like ease dropping on someone telling a story, you can't quite hear the words but you know what is being said. Nice. Think the Charlie Brown teacher - you know there is a convo and your mind creates what the words are based of the tones and phrasing. BTW If you turn out to be a 6 year old Korean girl you will go on my "spite list" :D -B

You will be fine my man and don't take ole Cranky Pants' comments too seriously, it is Monday after all. :) I haven't fiddled with the comps too much recently but I liked the Red/Blue comps for cleans a bit better than the Tube Comp. Though for distortion the Tube Comp seemed to add some vibe. The way they affect gain is the thing to watch for and it can be subtle. Switching to a lower output pickup (or higher) will also change how you set a comp up (like raising or lowering a pickup will to an extent). -B

Zoinks! D, that was sweet. I am still trying to get over the 3:00 section of Null Vitiator and you throw this up. :D Going all Mobius on me. Thanks! Bill

Hey Titchy, comps are one of "those" pedals that are really more involved then what they appear on the surface. You have to be careful and be aware that some of the comps add gain like the Tube Comp does with its Threshold setting. When you try the other comps (like the Blue Comp) "sustain" actually compresses the signal, so as you crank it the squashing will be noticeable. Being an old MXR guy I liked the Red Comp too as I used to get lost when a comp had too many choices. 8) You will have to play around a bit but you can also pop the comp at the end of the chain and don't forget you can roll off the volume knob on the guitar too. :)

Hey there, its been "years" since I did the XT model packs but if you back up your bundle it won't matter. If authorizing the pack does blank the XT's banks you can reload the saved bundle. Reflashing will blank the banks but I want to say the model pack is just authorizing the XT for its use. Either way backing up your patches should be done. Hope that helps! :) B

Its not so much as being mean but expressing the seriousness of the situation. Who knows what the impedance load was on the head and the OP was lucky it didn't fry that in addition to toasting the Pod. In the end no harm no foul. :) -B

Dude, bottom line is do not put anything between the power amp and cab except for speaker cables. Your use of the eq shows that perhaps you should check alternative choices in speakers. If the head doesn't have a loop and ''you must'' use the ext eq get a different head so you can utilize one in the fx loop. https://www.google.com/#q=head+to+cab+basics -B

Be sure to tell the appliance manufacturers. My $2k fridge had a 6 - 12 month warranty. This is not the old days when you could expect 5 years coverage. Now if you want to enroll in a paid extended warranty program then that is different. But to make ''I feel'' statements is ridiculous, no-one wants their gear to break but it happens and every mfg has issues.

TBH it is probably a matter of trying to squeeze too much at one time through the FPP. The G9 has a pretty robust processor in it and can probably crunch through the commands fairly quickly where as the FPP being an entry level POD has to take its time if you are throwing many CC's at it. Like a 2000's car vs a 2010 car (well sort of). Though on its own with its own switches and exp pedal there is really not much lag for basic ops. That would be my guess.

Registering Line 6 Pod Studio Ux2
BillBee replied to Librarymusic's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Doubt it's going to happen posting your reg# here. If the Support Ticket wouldn't go through try calling or shoot an email through the "Contact Us". L6 doesn't regularly comb the forums looking for posts such as these. There is a chance your friend needs to unregister it from his account. Btw waiting 4 years to register the UX2 is not an ASAP move. Just saying. :) -B
