  3. What I really need is the selecter switch for my Spider V 120, and was wondering if anyone would know where I could locate one. Some how it got hit and half-way came apart, and I already have put it back together once, but its time for me to get a new one and desolder it off the board and resolder a new one on.
  4. Unfortunately, I have the exact same problem. Anyone come along with any solutions or is it a electronics malfunction? Any help would be greatly appreciatted. Thanks!

  6. I'm here in Cleveland, Ohio and pretty much do my own electronics work. On all of my Line 6 gear, are all out of warranty and i was just wondering if Line 6 would sell parts to the public?
  7. The problem could also be due instead to old solder joints of some SMD components that need to be reflowed, as described in the following post: https://line6.com/support/topic/33436-pod-hd-300-problem/?do=findComment&comment=497988 _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  8. Thanks for the updates, will this be usable with stomp xl?
  9. Thanks for the quick reply, I've already reinstalled the firmware and made a factory reset but no luck Guess it will have to visit the service, since took off the back plate but there are no visible damaged capacitors. I'll try changing the impedance value, but since this error is kinda random (Like last night, the pod worked like a charm) I think one cap is going to give up sooner or later.
  10. @rd2rkthanks for checking this out! He has the board now and doing some gigs, it works fine despite the quirk just using the right output. We still want to solve it so we are meeting next week to double check his settings and patches, as well as cabling.

    Bass pack

The members of this forum are just simple users like you and me. For your specific problem it would be best to contact the Line6 official support guys by creating a new support ticket: Create a new Support Ticket _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ All about POD HD500/X help and useful tips
  12. My difference was simple. Finally got a chance to look last night. Stomp had Outputs at Inst, and LT was at Line. Easy fix, just never looked before.
  13. You are using a fixed power amp and cabinet.... that means you need to turn off the cab modeling in the Helix. Cab/mic modeling into a real cab is NOT a good starting point. It may work when someone is really knowledgeable about what they are after, but the general rule is to turn it off! Relying on factory presets is futile at best, but the majority of those will have cabinets loaded. When creating presets just add a "preamp" or "amp"... do not add "amps+cab" When editing others presets, replace the "amp+cab" with a "preamp" or "amp". (If the preset has separate amp & cab blocks, just remove the cab block) NOTE: When doing presets without cabs, going direct or using headphones will not be a good idea.

    Bass pack

Hello everybody, when I try to purchase the bass pack for my newly acquired pod hd pro x, it's impossible to pay the product, I get error messages. Can you help me ? Thanks in advance
  15. I read through the post and didn't find a question mark. Bummer.
  16. I have a couple thoughts for you to consider: This is a good video from YouTube where user that has replaced the speaker in his Spider V 20 MKII. Just remember the Speaker is 4 Ohms' My second thought is to use the 4 Band Semi Parametric EQ shape the tone to your liking. Another good video from YouTube. Hope this helps. Bill
  17. Your description of the signal chain sounds like the Vertex "Stereo" wiring that you get when you scan the QR Code. In terms of physical wiring that's pretty straight forward, with the addition of the L/R from the last "Time Based Effect" being connected to the HXS L/R Inputs and the HXS L/R Main Outputs connected to the Vertex L/R Inputs and on to the amps. If I've got that right, then apart from defective cables, that leaves the internal routings of the patches in the "Time Based Effects" and the HXS. Check the patches in the H90 and Big Sky to be sure that they are outputting on both channels. Remember that unless ALL blocks in the HXS signal chain are stereo (or the Path is SPLIT and recombined, in which case BOTH the A and B paths will be STEREO and can contain stereo FX) the signal will be summed to MONO. Check any SPLIT and MIX points for panning issues. Attach a copy of the preset that you want to use (the client's original? NOT a screenshot!) so that we can have a look at it.

  19. Hi, Now, I’m really confused? Are you the same guy who started this thread? After a year, you now find that you cannot create a good tone using the Helix LT with the SD PS 170 and a 2x12 cab. You don’t tell us in what scenario you using, or intend to use, this set up - studio, live, bedroom? As I stated way back in your previous thread about comparison with YouTube videos - “if you are not using the exact same guitar, strings, technique, play back system, monitors and listening environment what do you think it would sound like?” Much like you, in here we are constantly confronted by young people who cannot even get close to the sound of guitars that are present in YouTube demos. My guess is that what you are missing is the skill to figure out how to make it sound good. You need to tell us what it is that you want to achieve. Hope this helps/makes sense. Oi, Agora estou realmente confuso?
  20. I there guys . let me tell you about my nightmares. Now I'm 51 years old, when I was 20 I had a garage band and used a jcm900 mkII connected to 1960 A with a Yamaha rgx 312 guitar, for effects I used the zoom 505 with a boss EV volume pedal to do wha wha.than the band ended … and I stopped playing and sold everything, after a few years the fever returned and I started by buying a telecaster and a fender reverb 25 amp, in the meantime I bought a strat and an epiphone les paul with which I have been playing more, for now One year I purchased a Helix LT, a Seymour Duncan PS 170 and a 2x12 Harley Benton with V30 Celestion . I'm about to give up, because I still don't get good sound from this set, what am I missing??? Does anyone have this set that can help me?Not even the factory presets sound god... what is missing??? best regards from Portugal
  21. Hey all! I'm working on a rig for a customer that has the HX Stomp with a Vertex Interface on the board. Basically, Left/Right outputs are always plugged into the interface's L/R inputs that go out to the two amps/DIs. After reaching out to Vertex, using only the LEFT out of the interface sums both outputs for mono operation. I know that the Stomp itself sums stereo effects to mono when plugging into just the left output, but in this case, they're always plugged in and the summing happens at the interface. Here's the quirk: customer had a patch with an amp/cab block and legacy plate reverb. I turned off the amp/cab block because I was plugging into an amp. Using the left output of the vertex interface, I was only getting reverb with little to no dry signal. plugging into the right output on the interface had dry signal plus reverb. so I removed all blocks to test. left output on the interface has nothing and right output has dry signal. while plugged into the LEFT output, panning either direction at the output block did nothing. while plugged into the RIGHT output, panning fully left muted everything and panning fully right was dry signal back again. I have tried several settings and variations but can't seem to figure this one out after a few hours. any input to give me new perspective/something else to check out would be immensely helpful! chain is: GTR > Interface Tuner Fender Switchboard with 4 drive pedals, out to H90 stereo BigSky stereo HX Stomp stereo, back to interface Thank you! jg
  22. I would use the 4 Cable Method (4CM) as described in the HX FX manual, in the ’Hooking It All Up’ section. This allows you to use some of your HX FX models before the CX in the signal path (e.g. OD, Comp), and some after the CX (e.g. MOD, Reverb, Delay). On the CX, set the Return switch to the Power Amp setting. You can use the HX FX models in conjunction with the CX FX models as well if you wish. Give it a read and experiment. It can be confusing at first so don’t hesitate to come back with questions.
  23. Thanks for that Craig, very helpful.
  24. Hi folks! Just got a catalyst cx 200. I had a helix fx lying around and saw that I can use it as a midi control. From what I have seen so far, I can use it to set up channel switching and controlling the effects in the amp. My question is this: can I also use the effects in the helix fx with the amp via the same connection? How would I do this? Because all I can find out is how to use what is already in the amp via the helix fx. Sorry for the newb questions. Thank you in advance.
  25. Hey StratBoss - I think the GR-55's guitar modeling is good. IMHO I think the Variax sounds closer to the real thing and WB can get you closer. But the the GR-55 has guitar modeling based on BOSS/Roland’s VG-99 COSM (Composite Object Sound Modeling). I know that a few pros did or still do use the VG-99 (like John Mclaughlin, Vernon Reid, Robert Fripp, Adrian Belew, Frank Gambale, Jeff Baxter, Steve Stevens). It just boils down to which one sounds/feels best to you. One plus for going the Roland route is that you can put the 55's GK pickup onto any guitar - so your favorite axe can have all the capabilities of the GR-55 and still feel like your favorite gear. I use the GR-55 with a Roland Ready (MIM) strat so I don't have the ugly GK controller and divided pickup wires showing. I had a Vax600 with the GK pup on it and it was cool to mix the Variax real guitar with the modeled guitar and the COSM guitar sounds together with 2 GR's synth sounds (a blend of 5 noises from one guitar at once). Only way to tell is A/B them yourself and then it will be your opinion not mine. I don't know what it says that both companies have respectfully discontinued these 2 products.

    Presets

Press and hold the Channel button (A or B) where you wish to SAVE the preset. When the LEDs start blinking you can release the button. I don't think you can manually SAVE an existing preset to a different Bank.
