  1. -C'mon L6! It's been hours! What about supporting FA and Kemper files? Will it support Bluetooth? Can it be voice-activated? Will it make my whites whiter? Will it be backward compatible with XBox 360? (I'm sorry, Bob. My doctor says it's caffeine)

  2. Totally agree with the comments above from “bsd512”, this is exactly the way I use Helix for re-amping in Logic Pro. Although, I did once come across a guy who had problems using the re-amp setup. When I asked if he had USB 7 set to guitar - he said yes. Then he explained what he was doing, and it turned out that the reason he couldn’t record any signal was because he was using a Variax! A guitar is a guitar, right? Not when it’s a Variax! Please tell us that you’re not using a Variax. If you are, set the USB channel 7 to Variax.

  3. What you describe should work. Can you post a screen shot of your track set up in Logic Pro X, both for the wet and the dry? I use Helix as my audio interface and Logic Pro X and use this feature a lot. Make sure you actually have the Helix selected as the audio device in Logic. Specifically, I always record the dry along with the wet in case I want to reamp. Both the wet (stereo) track and the dry (mono) track are both armed to record. Then simple press record and off you go - both tracks record as expected. Note - the stereo wet is USB 1 & 2 while the dry is USB 7. To reamp, it's a simple matter of changing the USB 7 track's "output" to be USB 3 & 4 instead of the default "stereo" output, then set your Helix patch that you want to reamp into instead of "guitar" input to USB 3 & 4. Then record another wet track just like before except you disengage recording for the dry signal track - no changes needed on the "wet" track, it still uses USB 1 & 2 for input and Logic's default "stereo out" for output.

  4. Just a quick note on your guitar teacher. Not all guitar teachers, and in fact probably MOST guitar teachers have little to no experience with modelers. They tend to be more amp and pedal guys and might be somewhat dismissive of your modeler since they don't always speak fondly of things they don't understand. Just be aware of that and I'd still suggest you depend on resources like Jason Sadites YouTube videos as a way to really understand how to get the best out of the unit. Leave your guitar teacher with just the job of teaching you guitar, and leave the job of teaching you modeling to someone who really knows what they're doing.

  5. This guy didn't know there was a protective film on the Helix screen and thought he had a big scratch on it when it was just a torn protective film. It's essentially the last three posts. i have a scratch over one of the scribble screens looks like plastic lifted up ect small bubble anything i can do about it?dosent effect the lde readout ect.just whatever is on the top covering of that scrible screen.u can scratch it with a fingernail dont take much https://line6.com/support/topic/16981-screen-protector/ Doesn't fill me with confidence about his observational skills. Not that this would apply to his ears. He could very easily just not see very well. Or maybe he just listened to the factory presets. Just sayin'.

  7. True, so very true. The trouble is that this keeps coming up because first DI make public comments and now Frank R. What are people to make of it? Whatever they want I suppose. These things are meant to keep folk dangling on a string. It's harmless fun, but it's a distraction too. :-)

  8. It's not that the tone itself is bad. It just doesn't seem to sit well in the mix. I'm assuming a few things though. Like the voice should be the focus but every time the guitar solos while she's singing, the guitar almost overpowers her and it should be the opposite I think. That's just a production comment. If it sounds good to you it, it is. It also sounds "drier" to me than the rest of it. It almost sounds like everything else was recorded and mastered first with the guitar being tacked on afterwards. Again just my opinion but if you like the way it sounds, then that's good enough.

  9. To answer the OP. L6 Link will detect whether you are running one or two cabs and configure them as a mono or stereo set-up accordingly, in addition if they are placed relatively close together you can minimise the cable run between them, and not have to run 2 longer leads from the Helix. If you wish to send to FoH from there use the XLR out from each cab.

  10. Okay.... if I were a developer for line 6.... yes. There would be an option to play block out, asteroid, that snake one.... anything you could program into a graphing calculator. And that's why I'd probably get fired. Hey line 6, you hiring? I've got a few things I'd like to work on. ;)

  11. Sounds like your unit is defective. I would either exchange it or open up a support ticket with Line 6. My HX Effects is completely transparent as far as I can tell.
