  1. Hi, I am Fabrizio D'Alisera a saxophone player from Italy, maybe it sounds weird in a guitar forum, but I'm a user of the Line 6 HX FX. I am running a mic through a small preamp and then to the hx fx. I have always been a bebop oriented player, but lately I am experimenting nu things. I will get an expression pedal to use the unit to its full potential. What do you think? I have used a delay in the first part and a bitcrusher and a pitch shifter in the second one. Here's the link

  2. @datacommando I finally got the chance to mess with this preset yesterday. I know it’s been a while. So here’s what I got to say: 1- Thank you for taking the time to put it together, that was super awesome of you. 2-YOU ARE THE MAN! It’s doing just what I want it to do for bass. I threw it on a bounce of the bass, added a stereo widener then bounced it to its own track. Then blended it with the Un-effected track. BAM!!! 3- Did I mention YOU'RE THE MAN!?!? Thank you very much!

  5. sweet. I think that will work then....My other guitar player said I could have it....I was like, your not 'giving' it to me......which now seems to make my decision easier, lol.

  6. There are approximately 11,483 threads bemoaning the fact that volume leveling from patch to patch has to be done. There's nothing you can do except to adjust everything by ear. Some amp models are inherently louder than others, regardless of the where the channel volume parameter is set... it's just the way it is. Significant EQ differences can make one patch seem louder than another as well, even if their outputs levels are identical. If the channel volume doesn't give you what you need for a particular patch, the output block will.

  10. I am having the SAME problem. I didn't even could create my preset. I just updated everything, and was so excited to test my new pedal, and it never had any sound. Until now! I just could have a sound for a while. I was creating my first preset, put my acoustic IR, my global EQ, my mic preamp... and when I was adjusting the compressor, it stopped again. No sound. I don't know what to do! If there's a problem with the unit itself, I'm screwed, because I live in Brazil, and it was imported... with a huge cost for me. I created a ticket about a day ago. I'm waiting for an answer. As soon as they talk to me I'll update you guys!

  11. Hi Fabrizio, Happy to read it, my sax player also bought one and is very happy with it, I will send him your video! We are 3 HX/Helix users in my band, and all very happy (maybe we should be endorsed ;) ). Cheers, Greg

  13. I really do not recommend getting this, I had one for about 2 months before it broke. I opened it to see what had happened and it turns out the entire gear and pivot mechanism is plastic, the gear had fallen to pieces. The outer case may be well built but internals are crap. I've read a few reviews / forum posts now saying this is a common issue on these.

  15. With HX Stomp I use a TRS splitter cable like the HOSA YPP-117. It has a TRS male end split to 2 TS female ends. I use an old Yamaha FC7 expression pedal with hardwired TRS male end plugged into one of the female ends that works fine (after reversing the polarity). The other female end of the splitter remains open for another expression pedal or switch.

  16. Any pedal will work, just us a TS / mono cable with it instead of a TRS / stereo cable. The TS cable will join together the R and S poles in the expression pedal and convert the internal Pot from a Potential divider to a variable resistor. This causes no harm to the expression pedal at all and means it can still be re used with any other type of pedal, by just swapping back to a TRS cable. Regarding the polarity switch on the some expression pedals, what it does is flip the internal Pot's output so down is up and up is down. The helix can do this internally, in the global settings, so you gain nothing from having this on the pedal. I am using a Boss EV-30, which is a TRS style pedal, and using it with a standard TS / mono guitar patch lead, it works great. I have also used other expression pedals like this and they all work fine with my Helix HX

  17. Here ya go! You should be able to get something out of this quick and dirty patch. You mentioned Bass - so I have included the basic "Tuck n' Go" (change to whatever suits) in the first slot followed by an Harmonic Flanger at 40% mix, then a Dual Pitch for a slight chorus and finally a legacy Dimension with SW4 on and about 25% mix. Seems like a lot of bother for what the SPX does in one preset. Anyhow kick it around – you may find something in there. Oh, yeah – Zakk Wylde used the SPX90 for those Symphonic tones on No Rest For The Wicked and No More Tears. I read the Yamaha SPX90 Manual, and on Page 13 it states that, "The programmable parameters for this preset are identical to those for the Stereo Flange preset, omitting the F.B. Gain and MOD DELAY TIME". Note: Stereo Flange specs a MOD FREQ Range 0.1 ~ 20.0Hz and a MOD DEPTH of 0 ~100%
