Mind you, what I do to it isn't always a total and absolute solution in all cases, as there are other factors at play with this.

@ HO,... I'm still on it, whenever one comes in for that.
-
As I just mentioned, not abandoned.

"Due to a variety of reasons, we were unfortunately forced to deprioritize our research into this issue. We will report any pertinent findings at a later date."--- Fortunately, deprioritized does not mean abandoned. PierM,... then it's a good thing I know how piezos work. But then, it's not all the piezo, there's the rest the a guitar as well. When I test these, I test on the piezo and just forward of it (as I would in classical guitar technique) being aware of both methods of playing. Good observation.

UX2 recording vocals in a higher pitch
psarkissian replied to Chatooka's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
First suspicion would be a sample rate discrepancy between devices, one them is not set at the same rate as the other.- 9 replies

Current and time lag specs have to be considered. Whatever the Littelfuse number is, use that exact same number. Or whatever the other company's equal is, but preferably the Littelfuse number,... especially with a hybrid (analog/digital) valve amp like this.
-
Actually a lot of them come back for cosmetic issues from dealers or someone bricking a program board trying to do an update, miscellaneous electro-mechanical, or just don't like the look or feel. Yeah, and the odd plink thing when palm muting on the Strat patch. Yeah, yours is almost done, I'm just dialing it in. Passing it around to the CS people who are better at palm mutes than I am. Mine sound like White Snake/Tony Iomi/Ronnie James Dio trying to do a pick/string scratch while palming. It's why I don't do it much outside of classical guitar music.

"I have heard they are on par with Suhr, Anderson, Melancon, Tyler and the like, and the folks I've heard that from give me no reason not to believe it"--- The guy who builds the US versions, is one of James Tyler's people. I own 10 guitars, 4 are JTV's,... and none of them were purchased new.

@ Peter,.... Yes. I know the guy that does these, they are fine works.
-
@ PierM,... almost $4K for one? Must be a seriously customized, or ultra fine, or tricked-out US made one for that price for a refurb. But then, the guy that does the US builds does really fine work.

Fishman Triple Play on Variax
psarkissian replied to enricocervi's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Either would be fine. The 59 has the added feature of having pick-ups, so there is that extra versatility there. Never had any service/repair issues with 59's and 69's with Fishmans on them. Sometimes come in with just the mounting bracket on only, so the unit doesn't get my way. Considerate of them, but not necessary, I work around it. -
Daivd Gilmore,... niiiice. V&A,... go by there sometimes. Haven't stopped in yet. Quite a building though. If you need servicing of Line 6 gear, and don't want to go all the way down to E&M Electronics in Milton Keyes, there's Mark Wright Music in Northampton. Mark was one of our techs at the Rugby location we used to have. Now he's got his own shop. Have some friends and colleagues in Yorkshire. Also in London at QMUL (C4DM), Surrey, Cambridge (ARCAM) and Uni of Essex (ARL). Guess I'm well covered. Cheers, -P

Haven't been there yet. I hang about in Chelsea, Earls Court and The West End. Sometimes Daventry and Rugby. One of our techs hung out his own shingle in Northampton when we closed our UK location. Still stay in touch with my mates there (and the ex-pats here). I normally say valve, but there are some of us yanks not gotten into the habit the way I have. UK, my fave place. The Bard, The Theatre there, can't get enough it. :)

PX-2 supplies from the Line 6 web store is the best bet, that's what is used when not using batteries.

JTV-59 hardware differences?
psarkissian replied to tone_crafter's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Have a Tobacco-59 and a Cherry Sunburst-59, both from early 2011. No problems, love 'em both. -
Choppy audio with UX8 and macOS Sierra
psarkissian replied to waxmachine's topic in POD Farm / POD Studio / TonePort
Choppy audio is usually a sign of sample rate mis-match between devices. One of them is not syncing up. -
Uncle_Os is correct, the scale on the Shuriken is different, so that will have an affect. Best bet for pitch shift accuracy is to tune to standard pitch and make sure the set-up (and especially the intonation) is dialed-in.

JTV-89F Locking Tuners?
psarkissian replied to Glockster's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
89F doesn't use locking tuners, because it has locking string nut and tree.
