  1. If it occurs while using the Trem bar, then typically, the Tremolo tension and/or B-string piezo saddle needs adjusting. Especially if you're into "dive bombing". "At best it's a bad ground return on the 2nd string"--- good guess, always on the ball. But if it was a bad ground, all of them would have the problem. A failed piezo? Maybe, but then it would have problems even if the Trem bar wasn't being used. At this point, prime suspects would be piezo saddle adjust or Trem bar tension, snhirsch's suggestions would be 3 and 4. After that I would recommend a local Line 6 authorized service center in your area.
  2. Impedance is a function of frequency. Go with headphones that have a nominal impedance of 680-1.0k Ohms. iPod earbuds are low impedance and are (typically) not well matched for other devices from other companies. Best to go with headphones that are more in keeping with generally accepted in a wider swath of the audio industry. So yes, the Sony MDR series is good, Sennheisers are not bad, and the AKG 240 and 270 series are good.
  3. I await with open arms.
  4. Silverhead is correct. Alt Tune shifts from where the string is at pitch wise. If you tune Low-E down a whole step (to D), and you use the Alt Tune to go down another whole step, it will be at C. So, what silverhead said. Just don't physically tune down too far or you risk going beyond the guitar's ability to track the pitch in any tuning mode. Someone once tried tuning to near baritone range and was getting drop-outs in Modeling mode cause of that.
  5. Thanks for letting me practice on you what little bit of Deutsch I still recall from middle school. :) Einen schönen Abend to you too.
  6. A Line 6 authorized service center should be able to get parts and service for any Line 6 product that's still being serviced. Log a support ticket in your account or contact at Tel: +49 (0) 4101 303 0 .
  7. Possible, difficult,... again, there are impedance issues, along with signal and noise issues to overcome. And would have to be done in a way that doesn't pull down supply voltages. It's touchy stuff, easy to make it all FUBAR.
  8. Not certain about availability in your area. Check with Graph Tech and you're local Line 6 authorized service center. They may be able to get it or point you in the right direction to get it.
  9. Simce Full Compass doesn't ship to the Euro, you might want to try All Parts https://www.allparts.com/nuts-and-saddles ... in their nuts and saddles section. Happy hunting and rock on!
  10. Bulk resistance should be kept around 6k to 8k-Ohms. Try not to go outside of that.
  11. Black TUS Q XL: BT-6543-00, 1.6" x .6" x .1", with angle slots at 5-degrees, 42.89mm x 7.99mm x5.08mm. The one in the link has a rolling breaking angle, do not use that one. Thump it with your finger nail, if it rings too much or has a hollow sound, it's the wrong density. Should feel similar to Bakelite only more solid. I don't see it on Graph Tech's current list, so as close to a BT-6543 as you can get. Or try to get it through our service partners at Yamaha Euro or an authorized Line 6 service center in your area. They can email me for a part number thru the usual tech request channels.
  12. It's about matching the right pick-up for the right body tone. I have a DiMarzio as a bridge pick-up on a '66 Ricki three pick-up 12-string. I would never use that same DiMarzio on my '72 Gibson ES330, the tone color difference would be too off with regards to body tone matching. I'd go a custom wound Seymour Duncan for that. And I would never use a Strat style single coil on either of them. Might go for a custom wound Seymour Duncans for the Strat style single coil for one of my JTV-69's though. Right pick-up tone for the right body and tone,... as opposed to using it because it's the latest fad or looks cool. It's about the sound quality.
  13. Yes, you can play using 9's,... but the string tension will change, so you'll need to have the set-up checked by a (preferably Line 6 authorized) guitar tech, and if needed, adjusted for the string tension change.
  14. There is a real spacer fix for that. One of the things I check when a guitar comes in for servicing.
  15. Pick-up swaps,... try to use ones with a bulk resistance between 6k-Ohms to 8k-Ohms. Height adjustment may be more trial and error regarding string warbling from magnetic pull down on the strings, when it comesto non-stock pick-ups, as the height adjustment spec won't be the same. There may be some trial and error in adjusting that to get to its optimum spot.
  16. Regarding #2,... yes it was done as a custom job for guitarist Oz Noy by Touch Singleton of Singleton Guitar Works. It was a serious mod, both mechanically and electronically. Such a mod is very involved, not for the faint of heart or someone not experienced with guitar mods on this level. I was consulted about the electronics aspects of it, as a favor to the boss and Touch,... as a favor for Oz. Touch Singleton does nice work.
  17. hopperpost,... it turned out to be a quick fix. Left a note wit the Support guy about it.
  18. "How does the charger behave when it's charging/done charging? Is there a difference in the light pattern? I'm thinking I blew the charger - it was just left plugged in, probably since I bought it."--- Could be any of the above, could even be a problem with power management in the battery box. Your profile here says LA, I should probably check it out. I'm the guitar guy here. Log a support ticket in your account.
  19. Being that I have a 1966, 370/12, 3-pick up, 12-string (custom rebuild), I can say the L6 version is very close, good comparison. Enjoy.
  20. "If I went as far as too add a pickup that was solely dedicated to the Sustaner circuit and no connection with the Variax wiring and circuit the it would work independently?"--- if you could get it to work that way, yeah. "if I routed out the body to fit the other battery and controls could that work?"--- there will be a change in tone color, as the density of wood will change when you route it. You may or may not notice it. "Is this something that could be commissioned?"--- out-of-warranty, you would want to find someone in your area who is good with electric guitar mods. Shop around, check references. There are those out there who say they're good, and those who are, then there are those who know enough about Variax and JTV to do a descent job. "Would line 6 do that?"--- afraid not. We don't endorse or support mods. If you were to send your guitar in the most I would do is make it a stock guitar to the stock specs. I'm allowed to advise what not to do, and how to not get into trouble with this stuff. And I already have a full plate of work. I kept busy here. The mods I've done for notables, were favors for the bosses, as off-the-clock projects without time constraints. Put all of that on hold, as I've juggling too many plates in the air lately.
