  1. Let's get it right... not fast...
  2. Here it is specifically on a Tele. https://pietrosquared.wordpress.com/helix-2-voice-guitar/
  3. I have two guitars with power bridges. Both are passive, so the Aux input does NOT work well, but one of the FX returns works fabulously, as does the XLR input with a DI box, but that is overkill for me. I have demo videos of what a PowerBridge through Helix sounds like here. https://pietrosquared.wordpress.com/helix-2-voice-guitar/
  4. Yes. This is in global. Easy to set.
  5. Player for 40 years here... I promise you, the solution is to make your own, and I also promise you'll be super happy when you do.
  6. This is too much thinkin'... Seriously... jack up the headroom parameter and it goes away.
  7. In my experience, if you jack the headroom parameter all the way up on these, they can go after the amp no problem.
  8. Turn up headroom on Vintage Delay. Problem solved...
  9. I found the POD very easy to program using the editor, and to be honest, once I forced myself to learn the front panel, not much harder, and a handful of things is actually easier on the unit than the software. Helix is a different beast. When I first got it, I printed a manual. I lost the manual a couple days later, misplaced it in my office. Didn't bother looking for it. Didn't find it for another month or two. In 2 days or less, you can know everything you need about Helix, and it's just as easy (easier for most stuff imho) from the front panel as using the software.
  10. In practice? You will easily get 16 FX total if you aren't using amps/sims. You may get to 24. Even if you subtract those things you talk about, you are still way way above what a GT100 and an HD 500 are capable of. But you only get 10 stomp foot switches (8 on LT), so consider that. imho, the power of Helix is about 2.5 X what I had in HD 500 for most patches, somewhere around 3X for others. Oh, and it sounds noticeably better. And it's insanely easy to use.
  11. Helix Control is merely a remote that only works, at this point, with Helix Rack. It does not work with any other product, and imho, it is likely to stay this way forever... with one caveat... I think with that unused USB port on there, it may at some point be possible to use it with Helix Native, but that is far in the future. it is an excellent remote control for the Rack, but I'm sorry, that's all it is.
  12. Helix automatically switches to mono if you plug into the Left side only, either XLR or 1/4". Just like Acoustic Guitar amps, keyboard amps are not ideal, but will work okay as "faux" FRFR. The problem is that the smaller cheaper keyboard amps, in my experience, simply all suck.

    Wah On/OFF

There's an "auto-engage" that's been added to the firmware, not at Helix right now to talk you through it, but will try to later. Basically it makes it so the wah is off when you're at heel down, and turns on as you work it, then turns off again when you go back to heel down.
  14. Have you put send and return blocks in your patch. I'm talking programming the Helix NOT physical connections.
  15. You have to set the send up in your patch in Helix otherwise no audio is going to it.

  17. Nope. Not with Helix. Didn't bother. I did all my analog vs. digital testing years ago, and found with every situation where I tested that there was no discernible difference when you transmit a signal from one place to another (through multiple devices is a whole 'nother story).
  18. You won't hear a difference anyway. Just go with tried and true analog

    DI via SPDIF

Split a path and make the output of one path have nothing but an output to SPDIF, but no, you can't output at the beginning of a path unless you use a stereo or mono FX send.

    DI via SPDIF

7&8, btw, are NOT assignable I don't think. 7 is always the dry track from the guitar input, and 8 from the Mic input. Not sure how LT handles this.

    DI via SPDIF

I would not do it that way, honestly. You're sending two very different signals down a stereo line, and it's not ideal. I'd use a 1/4" send for the DI track. You won't lose anything significant, sound-wise, it'll be fine.
  22. Do you have the Helix program OPEN when you are unplugging and replugging? If so, do not do this. It will freeze the program and the unit both. It has always been that way. Also, don't start the Helix program and THEN turn on the unit or plug it in. That will result in unpredictable behavior.
  23. The built in cabs are working awesome for me, especially when I use dual cabs and change the default mic. I don't even use ANY 3rd party IR. Just the built-in cabs. The way to think of it, imho, is not the built in cabs as a weakness, but the fact that you can load up any IR you want in as a strength.
