  1. What you have described seems difficult but is a piece of cake for Helix.
  2. I am running 2 and 3 and occasionally 4 different voices from one guitar in nearly every patch I write. Here's how, with some videos. https://pietrosquared.wordpress.com/helix-2-voice-guitar/
  3. I think that there is actually a standalone version as part of this. Basically imagine opening the editor, but having it be the whole shooting' match.
  4. So, now we want the quality and functionality of a 1000 - 1500 dollar product in a plug in that is only a hundred bucks? Good luck with that.
  5. Assume you've tried different USB ports/cables. I am having totally issue-free recording with Helix at this point.
  6. I don't think you can do what you want in snapshot mode. But, in pedal board mode, if you do the midi out and back in thing, I'm pretty sure you can set up custom controls. Some could be Looper control some snapshot. What I think would work better is getting that Morningstar pedal and adding it to Helix, then you could do 4 stomps, 4 snaps, plus looper control on a separate pedal.
  7. Yes, I think you need to turn some MIDI setting in the globals off. Can't remember what right now, though, and I'm not by my Helix.
  8. Also (and in ADDITION...) try the LA Studio Comp AFTER your cabinet.
  9. I would say that if you're expecting to have as many Helix Native instances running as, say, comps or EQs, then I think you might be disappointed, because there is NO way that an FX block with 32 possible blocks is going to be as light on processing power as those. For me, I would just freeze tracks in Logic, so I'm only using one or two at any time, and only during recording. Can't wait to find out what my workflow will look like with this.

    Updater

    Pretty sure that's normal.
  11. Now it sounds like a firmware issue. Have you tried reinstalling the latest firmware?
  12. I don't know. I haven't seen anybody else ask for this. I wouldn't use it but would vote it up I think.
  13. Sure, you can do it that way. Or, have the tempo be stored per patch, then you could have one patch at 120bpm and the next one could be identical at 135bpm. There are different ways to do this.
  14. If Helix ever has a cupholder, I'm suing DI's butt...

    Ernie Ball

I also love it and use it with Helix. Might be the best EXP I've used.
  16. They are owned, indeed, by a publicly traded company. They are not RUN by Yamaha and so far, no Yamaha technology has crept into their products (but it might). So they have this dynamic, but don't make the mistake, folks, of thinking they ARE Yamaha.

    AU Plugin as amp

Yup. You can do this. Put the pedals you want in front of the amp on path 1. Have the output from path 1 go to a USB channel that goes into the AU amp. Then have path B come from a DIFFERENT USB out which come from the AU amp. Add your post amp FX to B. But what AU are you using. Helix sounds GREAT, probably better than most of these AU amp plug-ins. Plus, you may deal with a latency issue, too, depending on the computer and the plug in.
  18. I totally feel you! The stuff I do is playing 3 sounds at the same time from one guitar, acoustic, electric, and synth-pad-ish sounds. There aren't THAT many who can even USE the patches I write, so I end up learning how to do this all on my own. Similar situation. One more thing to consider with a Kemper + Helix solution. That is a LOT to carry... you up for that? I'm not...
  19. Well, we're off on a tangent for a moment, but... ...I learned about 10 years ago, that the difference between 1000 - 1500 US$ guitars and those costing $3K or more... for me... is more than substantial. If I had to put a number on it, I'd rather have my 3 guitars that cost (new) between 3K and 4500 or even 5K than twice as many that cost half as much, in fact, in the late 2000s until 2012 I made exactly that change! But then, my number one I've had for 10 years and still love it, my #2 I've now had for just under 5 and my #3 for 4... and none are for sale... But... ...you are asking after a very specific and significantly high-end amp modeler/profile solution. The chances that many people have combined both of those is not very great, so I think that eventually, you will be the one telling US how to do it!
  20. i don't agree that any gizmo offers more for the money than my Andersons do, frankly (amps/processors come and go, but my really great guitars remain)... but... you are not wrong otherwise imho. If it takes a Helix AND a Kemper AND an AXE to get your sound and you can use all three... the only reason you wouldn't is if a.) you're a mindless fan boi who has some strange loyalty to a corporation or 2.) You're simply not sophisticated enough with technology (nothing wrong with that) or simply can't afford to take the time to learn them or 3.) $#!†! man that's a lot of money! If you can swing it... do it...
  21. No. You don't get to have this, because promising stuff before you know you can deliver it is not what Line 6 does. They've explained why plenty of times. I would say this to you, though. If Helix doesn't have a feature you have decided you NEED, either get the pedal that does that and put it in a loop (for me, that's Mel9 and POG2)... or... if you HAVE to have a feature that isn't in a particular product, never buy that product hoping it'll get added some day. Buy and use it for what it can do today. Plus, marketing-wise, surprising people just before or at the time they get a new feature/model is a great strategy. They do announce stuff in advance when they can and feel it will be helpful or work well for them and the customer. Like Native for instance... also all the details of the 2.2 update came out ahead of time, too. In fact, I don't know that they can really improve the way they interact with customers. Especially Frank and Eric (Digital Igloo) are AMAZING at this.
  22. Why? The text for performance view is smaller than the scribble strips are. So it would be fairly pointless, wouldn't it?
