You sir, have won the internet.

You don't need one for FOH. That's what the gain knob on the board is for...
-
OP, I suggest you'd LOVE the BFTS. My Andersons have it, it's glorious.

NO, it's there. Go to the downloads page, http://line6.com/software/index.html , and select "Helix" "All Software" "Windows 10" and it's the second item down.

And I think perhaps you came looking for an argument anyway.

1. Stick a volume pedal block at the beginning of each patch. 2. Assign their "position" parameter to the same foot switch. 3. Make it so that on is 100% on one and 0% on the other, and off is the opposite. 4. Done. Alternatively, you could have one foot switch that turns on path A and one for path B, and then you could have both at once if you wanted.

Perhaps the OP should start his own company and design and build his own product if 10 foot switches isn't enough for him. Sorry, nothing to see here. You either want or need something that actually exists to make music with, or you are always looking for the piece of gear that is designed with your own extremely limited demands in mind... I make music, so I pick the best tool. If I didn't like or need the MODE and TAP buttons, I would still be able to make music with it. You still have 10 foot switches. Sorry, you're reaching, OP. Seriously... You remind me of a friend who was impossible to please with product design (there's a name for this, I forget what it is). He held off buying a digital camera for over 7 years because they didn't make one that was just right. And when he bought one, he ended up living with just as many design compromises as if he'd bought when he first started... and there are 7 years of photos he never took...
-
Why would you do this, though? What problem are you solving?
-
its al,ostmcertainly this. Btw, get the 3 sigma acoustic IRs and you might get a good enough tone plugged in to record with. No lie.
-
So cool. As a two-voice guy almost all the time, though, SOMEBODY GET THS GUY THE 3 SIGMA ACOUSTIC IRs!

Did not read every single comment... but... In order to get it to sound great using the built-in amp sims, you need to tweak your patches at gig volume through a speaker as much like the PA as possible. Making sounds with headphones won't cut it. Making sounds at real low volume won't cut it. Making sounds through a crap speaker and then going through the PA won't cut it.
-
maybe the incredible possibilities will encourage him to ditch the wireless to do cool things. One thing I did with JTV (but never recorded) that was equally cool was sent the Mags through one amp (les paul sound) and the models through a totally different amp (12-string rick through a different amp). That was SO COOL I wish I could afford to get a JTV again.
-
Yup, here's a video with HD 500 and Variax JTV and nothing else. You can do even more with Helix, but I've never had a JTV and Helix at the same time. Oops, here's the link.
-
This is a great story. However, I have 2 friends who went the other way, but one of them has bought a Helix again and is keeping both that and his Axe for now.

Clearest delay? Vintage Digital with rate and bit depth and headroom all the way up, imho. Very clear, and the modulation, if you want it, is nice.
-
This is significant, but if you already have an audio interface, it might not matter one bit.
-
The one you know how to program best will be the best sounding. Period. You can learn any of them. If you need extraordinary ease of use right out of the box, Helix can NOT be beat. If you know you'll always use a computer to edit, then AXE stuff is wonderful, too, as their editor is simply amazing. If you are only going to use stock patches or buy patches and are not going to learn to program, it might not matter. imho, you'll never get the most out of any of them that way.
-
Different. Not better. Either way.
-
But did you change the HEADROOM parameter? THAT's where the crackling happens.
-
You could program one pathway to do this, but you'd have to do it on every single patch you use. Just keep using the Mackie mixer you have now, imho.
-
Vintage Digital has adjustable sample rate which will do some of this, but you can also run a parallel path with 100% wet delay and add an EQ to do whatever you want to it.
-
Keep in mind that there is a lot of restriction on LT if you use it as an interface. With only one input plus the FX loop... if you are going to record at all with mikes or more than one instrument at once, you really should step up to full Helix.
-
You guys. This thing works like an actual Helix inside your computer, people. It's a bargain at 399. It's a no brained for HX owners at 99
-
If 99 smackers is too much for you as a Helix owner, then congratulations, you are now officially not their target customer. If 399 is too much for you as a NON-Helix owner... the same...
