If you are truly in love with Shimmer, add a POG2 in a loop and go to town. (Or an H9)
-
That is super easy to do. imho, use sends to go to the amp and back and the XLR or 1/4" main to the board.
-
line level should be +4.
-
This is super possible. Easy, no problem.

If You Transitioned from HD500 to Helix, Have You Noticed...?

Based on what you like, try the Matchless Jump. -
If You Transitioned from HD500 to Helix, Have You Noticed...?

This is why I always always always had them in the same place on each preset. long delay? Always one particular footswitch. Gain? always another... etc... I used p-touch labels actually, but Helix makes it way way easier, doesn't it. -
GREAT point there. I know how I would solve this if I used wah. I'd get a Vox wah and use one of the loops for it, but that's me. This is a FANTASTIC idea.

You can't use more than one EXP with a toe switch, so why would you want or need two? It makes sense that you don't have an option to use more than one toe-switch exp.

This might be the #1 request I've heard Nobody who truly knows if or when can tell you one way or the other. (NDA, etc.) We know they won't call it "scenes" if they do it. We know that they have hinted that they like the idea a whole lot. They have also hinted that they may be able to eventually tighten up the amount of time it takes to switch patches and such.

It's taking me the same or longer, but my Helix patches are able to do what it took about 3 or 4 different patches on HD 500 to do. It helps, too, that the Matchless is so great it's all I use currently. -
Another way to do this is to have the footswitch adjust volume. 100% path A and 0% path B on "off" state, the opposite on "on" state. Even more fun. have one footswitch for one and one for the other so you can have both at the same time. The volume wackiness thing you notice is the reason that I'm glad Helix will let me do this with a footswitch instead, which works way better for me.

Fixed it for ya. Seriously, all these updates are annoying, especially when one patch creates other problems. Whether that's my iPhone or my Mac, these little incremental patches seem to cause more harm than good. I think the whole computing industry is retreating in reliability and effectiveness the past few years. Witness the multiple debacles connected with the last two MacOS updates, and the forced Windows 10 updates that have caused a bunch of people great consternation. Super annoying.

If we're going to tread into these murky waters... then why has the excellent modeling of effects and amps in Helix and in other products not resulted in huge lawsuits? Pretty sure that companies like Fender and Marshall and MXR and whoever know that it wouldn't be worthwhile, wouldn't stand up. That said, capturing IRs from my Mama Bear and giving them away is, I'm pretty sure, not a legal worry for me. Even if selling them wasn't a legal worry, I wouldn't feel right doing that, though. making an IR of a speaker cabinet is an entirely different story I think, though. I don't think anybody's goin' to jail or anything.

I feel ya. I use the editor because I have to test it, but if I didn't, I'd use the unit for every single thing except perhaps naming patches, and even that is fine in a pinch. On the unit is easier. But it's been almost a month, and they know about the delay issue, I bet they'll fix it rather soon.

Also, vary the actual outlet you plug into. Generally, I think you want Helix and the L2T into the same outlet, but it might be a grounding problem. Hum often is, if not usually.

One EXP pedal acoustic, one electric. Simple.

Super easy to do that! About 3 ways I can think of off the top of my head... But I like making sure I can have both at the same time. That is FUN!

Please feel free to check out my videos and the patches that go with them (all linked in the article below). Good starting points, I think, for doing this. https://pietrosquared.wordpress.com/helix-2-voice-guitar/ Here's one of the videos as a teaser.

Not sure, though, that these work very well with Variax models. I'd use the "neutral" ones I posted if you're interested.

I was shocked by that and the archtop IRs.

I updated my IR collection mentioned just above this post. There are now 3 zip files in there, using 3 different input profiles on Mama Bear. a group with an input profile for an under-saddle piezo for an acoustic. 1xx_Dtar_type of guitar_ir a group with an input profile for a Fishman PowerBridge. bxx_Dtar_type of guitar_ir a group with an input profile that is neutral. Note that the neutral IR is what appears to be a very very simple waveform. Is that good? I don't know. Also, these are 2048 sample IRs and I have a feeling they will work best that way. nxx_Dtar_type of guitar_ir Also, they are pretty quiet (I have a feeling some of the others we've seen are somewhat compressed, these are not. You'll probably want to increase your IR volume from -18 to perhaps -12 or even higher. I hope you like them. I don't even know if I like them yet, but I hope some of you do. So far I think these are less "natural sounding" but possibly much much better in a LIVE mix, as they seem to bite and cut through, even without a lot of added EQ. I suspect that whatever is going on in Mama Bear is not so much an IR as a sophisticated EQ curve. The "neutral" profiles are completely useless to me, but if you find a way to make them work, let us all know. https://drive.google.com/open?id=0B5YMP7cdVF-LTWE5TkFrb0ZTUGc

Actually... I just got home, and looked at Mama Bear again. There IS an input setting based on a magnetic soundhole pickup. It might not be perfect, but it might be much much closer and maybe close enough to do what you want. I will try and make some for you when I can.
