  1. Yup. Totally and completely agree with spikey...
  2. They don't sound any different to me.
  3. I adore the delays in Helix that I use. Tape Delay, Bucket Brigade, and especially the new Vintage Delay. Don't know why people don't love those, but hey, we're all different.
  4. Everything you want will work, just keep the paths separate. I do this literally all the time with all my guitars. Oh, and you'll want the "electric guitar" signal to go to the front input. The back ones don't have the switchable impedance that works well for electric guitar signals and just won't cut it.
  5. easier to use an FX send (right before the cabinet - and no, you won't have any post cab FX in this scenario) if you've got it. But this kind of setup is SUPER problematic. If you tweak for the stage, it could sound harsh in the house and vice versa.
  6. I truly would love to see the wah work where at 0 it disengages and would vote for that on Ideascale.
  7. No. Control is the only reasonable option for Helix rack.
  8. I think I see what you're getting to. But I think it's the logical limitation of having only 10 buttons to use, honestly. For me, I think I can do everything you are looking to do in a patch better with 10 stomps than ANY snapshots. The only thing I'm using snapshots for, personally, is to switch the amp eq and some other things around based on which guitar I'm plugging in.
  9. Add a little room verb. Problem solved.
  10. use the amp without a cab and that's exactly what you have if you plug it into a real powered guitar (not FRFR) speaker.
  11. First off, I would do that. Second, if you leave all the blocks that activate with a footswitch OFF when you save the patch and set global:preferences:snapshot edits to "discard" I believe you may achieve what you want.
  12. You are also, possibly, simply looking for more of an amp experience, in which case, at the very least, get a power amp and regular guitar cab instead of FRFR. Oh, and if you don't turn it as loud as an amp, it ain't gonna make the hairs on your arms stand up, so do that, too.
  13. Like the OP, I'm using a POG2 with my Helix. I'm also using a Mel9. The combo of those two making pads behind my guitars (or instead of them) is just simply amazing.
  14. Actually, if there are only two states to the amp you need, you can do this without even using a snapshot if you want. Just assign the parameters you want to change (up to 8 I believe) to a footswitch or an EXP. I've been doing this forever. Of course, you can do it with snapshots, now, too. And yes, you could conceivably have 8 totally different amp settings on 8 different snapshots in one patch. Either way is good depending on what you want to do.
  15. Don't know which I am... the pro who uses the best tool for the job and might suggest a feature here and there but isn't always bitchin'...?
  16. Yeah, I don't save Bundles at all anymore. Not useful really.
  17. 3 posts... this is the best you got? Yes, you are alone... here on the Line 6 forum. Perhaps you are an amp guy? No shame in that.
  18. It might not be technical, it might be that their research showed what most musicians would benefit from, and I think it's probably not a great idea to accommodate every piece of customizability that every single person wants. But who knows...?
  19. For many (most?) of us, we need to know at a glance as we look down what everything is, and having that snapshot icon right there makes it easy to know what you're looking at without thinking. Sorry, I think it was designed perfectly.
  20. those look nice, but WHOAH expensive.
  21. I think now in 2016, though, that Edge uses a POG2 and some other stuff for shimmer more than the feedback loop harmonizer thing which was how he first created it in the 80s. Seriously, that POG2 for shimmer along with an Octo and Shimmer can create an amazing sound. Obviously, for those who must have exactly the same sound/signal chain, maybe it's different, but it works amazingly well for me.
  22. Don't do this. You can't control NEARLY all the things from a LF as you can from Control, meaning you have the scribble strips, lights that you can see at a glance which buttons are what, the ability to switch patches... or snapshots... or stomps... or a combination of those... plus tap tempo, the tuner, and the ability to edit patches with your feet. If you are going to use Rack without Control, you will be disappointed.
