  1. You MIGHT have better luck with a POWERED USB hub in between...?
  2. We need pics of this. This sounds amazingly interesting.
  3. And folks... let's just leave faith/religion/church out of it.
  4. I am a full time Director of Contemporary Worship at a church. Music isn't my whole job, but is a huge part of it. and yes, I'd like to think I'm very capable of playing other gigs. Although I don't have/make time for it.
  5. I think the "Bundle" is a total waste of time, when you consider that you usually want any new or newly programmed presets in a new firmware update. I never use it. Ever.
  6. I'm old enough to remember when you bought a distortion Plus to get your amp to distort, too... I'm not old enough to play along with Hendrix LPs when he was still alive however...
  7. Do they count if that's your full-time job? I don't think I'm a fraudster...
  8. Everybody settle down. OP, your gripe is not out of line. Insulting everybody else on the forum, however... is not great form. for the record, I don't use that many patches and have had no problems with them, but as a regular gigging pro, you of COURSE will be updating shortly before a gig, or you'll never be updating at all. I didn't find the problems you are having during my beta test.
  9. Doesn't clean up enough for my use to really sound clean, but it sounds fantastic.

    It's here...

    ...your morning coffee I mean...
  11. I've been okay with that group, but honestly, rarely ask questions. Haven't felt pressured to join the premium group at all. And at over 3700 members, it's probably a great place to get free advice.
  12. 1. is correct. Although they do share SOME things with some folks who are testing their products ahead of time, we don't have a full roadmap. 2. is incorrect. I and others (some in this thread) do indeed beta test their firmware. 3. is incorrect. They may not be regular enough for your tastes, but they are regular.
  13. Demeaning comments AND political post all in one. If you had insulted someone's religion you would have had the trifecta... I (and some others here) are beta testers for Line 6. Only AFTER they've fully tested stuff, they send a firmware update out to us a few days before you find it. Each of us does something different, so what I do when I get a new firmware is create my favorite patch from scratch, using the editor and panel, and sometimes even play it for a show after. We find bugs, sir. And between us all, we may not test thousands of scenarios, but I bet it's in the hundreds... One more thing. It's disrespectful to argue about who is the biggest @$$#@†. Please... and for the record... I am a bigger one than any of y'all...
  14. Yes, I do two-voice all the time (literally... ALL my patches are two-voice). I do it all in Helix, but you can, of course, do what you describe.
  15. I don't think they made the wrong call in not making mono verbs. I have made 3 and 4 chain patches with amp/cab, several delays, a modulation or two, and up to 3 or FOUR verbs. If you need more than that, you might be making just "mush"...
  16. I've done this with similar cabs, but miking them is a pain in the rump.
  17. Active pickups are evil.
  18. I made a patch where I have 3 different amps going into one cabinet, and can use all three at the same time, or any one or 2. Using multiple paths from one source gives you that kind of flexibility. A clean and a dirty amp at the same time is kinda cool. Into the same cabinet is impossible in the real world, but possible with Helix.
  19. No one knows about features they may or may not implement in the future. And even those of us who get to know in advance only know, generally, a very short time before the rest. Tone matching (although it doesn't interest me) seems like something that could be implemented in Helix as far as the hardware is concerned, but only the guys doing the programming know for sure. Maybe one of them can pipe up here? Or maybe they can't? I don't know.
  20. You can always get something that does those FX and incorporate it with the loop and control it with MIDI if possible. That's the beauty of having 4 loops.
  21. Well, it's not being done on this forum. It's being done somewhere else. Everything in the world is worth whatever someone will pay for it.
  22. It's not just that, though. I have a cousin who fixes everything in his cars. He thinks I'm NUTS for not doing that. Well... if I take my brakes apart and then put them back together, I guarantee that I will die the next time I drive that car. We aren't all built with the same capacities. It's like the guys at Best Buy's Geek Squad and stuff like that. 90% or more of what they do is stuff the user can learn them selves if they are smart and savvy enough or strive to become that way. But if everybody knows how to fix stuff on their computer, then those guys are out of work, and they're on unemployment, then they end up getting really angry at the world and they buy a gun and shoot everyone. It's a public safety issue, really...
  23. I don't begrudge anybody EVER for asking money to do something simple, and yet something that somebody will pay for. There are folks out there who are ready to pay for help or pay for patches or whatever. If they'd do a search, they might find what they are looking for easily, but they don't. That's on them, not on the guy willing to take their money. I, personally, have consulted with a BUNCH of folks on how to use Helix (and before that HD 500) to do what they wanted. I have always said, it's free help (even if I spent an hour on skype, which I have a few times) and I have said when asked (ONLY when asked) if you want to give me a "tip" that's entirely up to you, but I'm not asking for it. And a few times, they have. Would I do that for money, as in... for a job...? Probably not. Did I take the money? Hell yeah. Nothing wrong with what Chad and others are doing at all. Do I need their help? No, so I wouldn't pay for it. Do some others. Apparently, yes.
  24. But I bet you could get them to give you some very piano-like sounds and such. I don't know that anybody has tried, and you wouldn't get all the way there, but it could make for some interesting stuff.
