If you don't use snapshots and only need two impedance values, you could tie the input impedance parameter to the same switch the fuzz is on. If you need more than two impedance values, snapshots would be the way to go.

Is Line 6 going to create new amp and effects model's
duncann replied to Megadeth1313's topic in POD HD
Yea. I just checked this on the HD. Never noticed that before because I only ever used this effect as the first in the chain with 100% mix, time min, and fb 0%. -

Those have the same basic problem (problem for me anyway) as the one in dynamics. They also have an additional problem, which may be a bug or intentional, not sure, such that even with a low mix, 0% for example, the dry signal is affected by the swell part. Seeing that these are delays, I would assume only the delayed part of the signal would be affected, unless the mix is 100%. -
It still happens to me on v2.21.

Is Line 6 going to create new amp and effects model's
duncann replied to Megadeth1313's topic in POD HD
In the HD it's grouped with the delays. Helix does have one, called an autoswell, but it's based on a gate opening and closing (tweakable) which makes it of limited use. The one in the HD can create a very nice violin type effect every time a note is hit, regardless of when the previous note was hit, something the autoswell in Helix cannot do unless you stay to a very strict pattern of playing. -
Works for me on win10 like pbatts said by left-clicking and holding. Right click does nothing though.

It may be an endangered species, but that doesn't mean it turns suddenly bad. Lol. Just for the hell of it I turned on my HD500X, a very rare event, and started playing through the various presets I made since I got the thing. Being used to Helix, I was actually quite surprised by how good the tones sounded and felt, in particular one with the 5150 amp. And god damnit! why can't Helix have an auto volume like the one in the HD? -
Welcome. Don't be afraid to approach CC128 (page 58 of the manual) for any needed information. But beware, it is an entity that is not always benevolent!

Just to throw out an unlikely possibility: It may not be the plugin, but the plugin may be uncovering something going on at the OS level, or at least an unwanted interaction between the plugin, something in the OS, and your interface ASIO drivers (in my case Helix Floor). I'm not familiar with Macs, but I've recently had intolerable crackling on Windows 10 and Reaper, made much worse with iZotope Ozone. I've eliminated all crackling, even at very low buffer sizes of 64 and 128, by changing the power profile from the default of balanced to either high performance or a custom one made from high performance. Simply customizing the balanced profile was not enough. If a Mac has something similar to power profiles, it may be worth looking into that.

The license manager program appears to be incorrect from what you are seeing elsewhere. Turn on the device and don't run HD Edit. Is the metal pack listed on page 12 of the system menu? And when you select a preset that you know has a metal pack amp in it, what amp is shown? If the amps are nowhere to be seen on the device, I'd probably open a support ticket.

I can confirm this. But the editor still has the changed color and name. It's the device that shows otherwise. However, if you switch to a different preset and then back, then controller assign for the dual delay, as soon as Left Mix is selected on that page, the color and name still revert to the defaults, but only on the device.

Definitely sounds wonky, almost at times like a ring modulator. No idea what that could be. I assume you're plugging the spdif into your Presonus Studio 192? Is there any way you could bypass that from the signal path, as FlyingsCool suggested? For example, if you have a receiver, stereo or surround sound or whatever, with an spdif input. Or if you can't do that, maybe investigate some of the settings on the Presonus. If none of that works, you could try a global reset: hold down switches 5 & 6 while powering on. And if that doesn't work, I'd probably just open a support ticket.

I use the spdif all the time for monitoring purposes. I've never heard anything unusual coming from the right speaker, regardless of note or preset - including an empty one. Perhaps you could post a clip of what you're hearing.

Not too long ago, I turned on my HD500X after being dormant for an eon and quickly noticed that all models packs were not showing up in HD Edit. So I guess I had a similar occurrence as you. I did manage to fix whatever was wrong, however I cannot remember what I did to make them appear again. Memory fart. :( I know I did not have to reauthorize anything, or purchase anything. Also, on the device, if you hold down the view button and navigate to the last page of the system menu, any model packs installed should be indicated there. Also be sure to check your presets on the device itself. The model pack amps will probably show there. Perhaps a reinstall of HD Edit might be of use.

And alt-left click on PC.

That is correct. It only works for the analog outputs.

It's seems Line 6 is aware of this bug as they mention it here for Helix Native: http://line6.com/support/topic/29033-helix-native-101-release-notes/ Hopefully they're aware of it affecting not only the Mark IV Lead, but the Cali 400 CH1, thanks to your discovery. I wouldn't be surprised if at least more of the 'Mesa' amps are ill as well. Either way, it's only a matter of time before they fix it.

Haven't had a problem with the actual recorded audio being out time. I recently had a problem with crackling and static on win10 pro. On win7, same system, no problems with buffers as low as 64. I did eventually fix the problem on win10, but I'm uncertain as to what I did. I remember switching power profiles from balanced to high performance, and then editing the high performance profile a little bit. Also went into device manager and turned off allowing the computer to turn off usb hubs to save power; same thing under human interface devices. In the system bios, you might look for spread spectrum options, which when enabled may reduce any electromagnetic interference. DAW plugins can also contribute to crackling or static.

I prefer tooth extractions myself. Although I had to start arguing with my dentist because he was using FASA Group instead of Thempson for his extraction tools!

How far has the human race both fallen and risen at the same time? Lol. At least when we were first starting out, the things we argued over, most barbarically too, were likely matters of life and death. Maybe we've improved at least the barbarism a little bit? But now we argue over stupid shit.
-
Glad to hear you got it working. The bug still remains though. Out of curiosity, what amp was giving you troubles?
-
I don't think that's right. The Almighty let Bob Ross use all kinds of almighty tools.
-
I generally keep it on for consistency's sake. And so I don't have to remember, or write down (but write it down anyway!) what a preset expects this setting to be (what it was on when the preset was designed), because it can potentially change the way a preset sounds, greatly in some cases. With it on, there is no danger at all of the input signal clipping (evolution pickups here), and you can always add a +6dB gain block if you want to drive another block or amp harder.

Stop punishing yourself.

Perhaps a simple cover could be constructed, attached using velcro, or magnets.
