Maybe they're running out of things to improve on Helix, or were just bored one day, so why not start messing around with button icons, lol.

I was also wondering about this same thing. I guess just using your ears would be the thing to do. For at least the searchlights reverb, I've found that simply adjusting the mix from 50% to 35% (the other settings at default) resulted in about the same before and after, so maybe the rest of the new reverbs are something similar. For the disappearing amp, I would make sure you're using the latest version of HX Edit, which at the moment is 2.60.

I know they changed the wetness of the mix value from what it was prior to v2.60. Curious what the equivalent mix value is (if mix is the only thing that's different, for example are there also differences in the level as well?) in v2.60. To my ears, and using the searchlights reverb at its defaults, adjusting the mix to around 35% results in about the same as pre-2.60 from what I remember pre-2.60 sounding like. Love the searchlights by the way. So easy to plop one at the end of your favorite preset and just get lost in playing whatever.

Lol. On the miniscule chance it's not a conspiracy, perhaps Line 6 should just shut the forums down. I'm mean, if some people can't log in more than half the time, and the Line 6 people have better things to do, why bother? They are definitely constantly screwing with the forum dwellers though:

Not sure about others, but these forums have become utterly useless. The majority of the time I try to visit, I cannot log in at all, regardless of browser. Eventually I just give up. Are others still having this persistent issue?

You can certainly do the same thing with Helix Floor as with Native. It's just not as efficient a process with the floor unit. I don't have Native, so I'm not 100% sure, but I also think Helix Floor can do at least one thing Native can't, as far as reamping. For example, if a track requires manual operation of an expression pedal (mostly to get a natural, organic feel to whatever it's being used for), you can record that as midi data, as well as a dry track. Then both the midi data and dry track can be sent back to Helix Floor for processing.

I was able to successfully import and then export the preset. Firmware version 2.54.0 and HX Edit 2.52. Have you tried any of the reset options listed here: https://helixhelp.com/reset-options/? Be sure to do a backup before though.

Bunch of songs made with helix: https://mikestack.bandcamp.com/album/existence Couple of stragglers there that are made with the previous HD modeler. Most recent versions of the songs are at the above link. All my stuff on soundcloud:

Still the same here as well. But maybe it's an indication they might at least be looking at it...

I wonder if they might have fixed it, because last night I had something happen that never did before, which is being automatically directed to a page asking you to agree to use cookies in two ways. One so the site functions, and another having to do with using your info for marketing dispersal. First check must be agreed to, but not the second, then click the save button.

Forum layout seems fine for the most part. Even with the old forums, I could always jump to the first new post in a thread, since last visit, by clicking the dot before the thread title. That's still there (I think there was a brief time where it didn't work though). They should reinstate signatures. The logging out problem is a little tiresome. I notice there is a 'mark site read' link on the top right and bottom right. Could that be what you're looking for? Just have to click it when done reading the forums entirely.

Nice compilation. Just to note, even though there's a lot of overlap between HD and HX effects, it's probably not a good idea to automatically assume the HX version is better. A couple of examples might be the script mod phase and the tube driver. To me, the HD versions sound better. And in particular, the HD script mod phase doesn't thin out the tone nearly as much as the HX. There could be others...

Yup. It all seems very random as well.
-
Same here. Using firefox for the most part, but other browsers, such as chrome or opera, behave the same, with the same randomness. For me though, it only seems to occur with the Helix forum.

I never use the harmonizer, or pitch blocks, for any harmonizing, so I can't comment on how well it works or doesn't. Generally speaking, the pitch algorithm does seem to occasionally have tracking problems. But Helix may be improving on this front sometime in the future. DI was recently talking about polyphonic tracking, which would likely have the side effect of better single note tracking.

US retail return laws actually a negative for music
duncann replied to lawrence_Arps's topic in Helix
I don't know about that. It looks kind of fun... -
In that case, I think you'd probably be fine. When I took mine apart to replace the washers for the expression pedal, I don't recall there being any mechanical advantage for the rubber feet screws other than holding the rubber feet in place. Not 100% sure though.
-
You may want to find an alternative to just removing the rubber feet as there are ventilation openings on the bottom. So you could leave the rubber feet and find something else, around the same height as the rubber feet, and that spans the width of Helix and enough surface to attach velcro, maybe both sides?

I currently have only two Ibanez guitars, an American Master MA2 and a JEM7V, and an Ibanez SR1205E bass. I only ever use and play the jem and the bass. I thought about buying another guitar about a year ago but never did because I realized the answer to the question of, why or why not? For me, it boiled down to being perfectly content with the jem. Also didn't really want to maintain another guitar. And I'm not really a fan of more stuff. I like less, efficient, and streamlined stuff better. Lol. Finances would have been stretched thin as well. It was money better allocated elsewhere. But if you like collecting guitars, and it doesn't hurt you (or maybe others) in any way, I would say go for a seven string, since you don't already have one. Never know what kind of enhanced musicality it might inspire in you.

Violin-like volume swells with volume pedal set to "Logarithmic"
duncann replied to HonestOpinion's topic in Helix
A lot of people would probably find customizable response curves really useful. And now that the auto-volume delay legacy effect from the HD is in Helix, the Boss SG-1 is less pressing, but would still be a great addition. -
One thing that caught my attention was the word feedbacker.

Open a support ticket explaining what you want and that you want to do it yourself. Should be painless.
-
Try checking the 'Tempo Select' global option. Yours might be set to global, instead of per snapshot or per preset.

Expression pedal reaction question, possible stupid question...?!?
duncann replied to themetallikid's topic in Helix
All that really does sound erratic. I would suggest opening a support ticket, especially since the onboard pedal does the same thing. Oops, I see you already did after reading your first post again. -
Expression pedal reaction question, possible stupid question...?!?
duncann replied to themetallikid's topic in Helix
Thanks for the awareness of the possibility of things... :) I would guess only the Line 6 engineers could really answer your question, as it sounds like you're asking about the specifics of how Helix reads, interprets, and calibrates an external variable resistance. If you could find the answer to that, you might be able to figure out why your pedal isn't always the same. Maybe it's just a crappy potentiometer in your pedal, or external environmental conditions affect things. If it's not big range, I wouldn't worry about it.
