  1. Not possible. Even investing thousands of dollars in a USB extender (if they still exist in the market), the very high bandwidth required by HX EDIT would make the data going lost instantly.
  2. My DAW is Live 11 latest build 11.2.6, running on W11 22H2 Tried to change its HiDPI settings but Native still doesnt scale properly, while Live always do (and all the Valhalla plugins, Eventide, etc etc). Happy Holidays to you too! :)
  3. Man you are the best! Forcing the HiDPI that way solved completely with HX Edit. Now does scale perfectly and looks sharp as it should. Now I have to find a way to do the same with Native. I don't think will be possible to do the same with Native, as it's a plugin and those options are for .exe only. But having the HX Edit looking properly it's already a good news. :) Many thanks for the help. \m/_
  4. Do you have a link? I searched for it, but can't find it. I'd like to have an updated database, better if isn't just win 7 based which is a bit legacy now...On the main site I can only see part II and III, which is the one I linked.
  5. I had/have this same experience with the Iridium modeling, when compared to the helix legacy amp/cabs. I do believe and respect everyone saying the opposite tho. I still have to dive deep into new cabs, but I think I would keep the Iridium as I really need core amp params available on the fly. As for the AXE FX, I was really really close to grab one when I sold my Helix Floor. But as a ambient/jazz/guitar/synth guy, I've found it really lacking in that area (and amp modeling alone would never justify the investment). My latest setup costed me almost twice than an Axe FX III first release, so would have been even cheaper lol! Never say never btw, when I tried few of them, always been blasted by the quality of the hardware.
  6. Hardware side, it's more powerful than Helix, and also quality of the build is higher. That's a FACT. Editor side, we can talk on which is better. Opinions, subjective, personal needs, taste, etc... Tone side, ENTIRELY SUBJECTIVE, waste of time even starting an argument on the subject. So, the only fact here is the hardware, and you pay for it. Fractal last gen are putting more horsepower, more DSP, more quality parts, and that's a fact. The only one. :) Everything else is an opinion, doesn't matter if that's coming from you or Steve Vai. Every single Fractal thread ends with the same bulllollipop... lol
  7. Are you using 100% scaling? In that case of course there are not problems, since everything is being rendered as its native dpi resolution. Im on a windows 11 machine tho, and between all my VST, Native and Tripleplay (very old UI) are the only not scaling correctly, so Im pretty sure they aren't HiDPI compliant. Same goes with HX Edit, same UI code I guess. Doesn't scale with DPI scale, so everything get smudged.
  8. Yeah, Im not sure retina technology works the same as HiDPI scaling on a windows machine, but looks like Mac users are getting the correct dpi scaling, no matter the resolution. A while I don't own a mac, so I can't say for sure. When I say "scaling" Im referring not only to the entire interface, but especially to all the graphic elements inside it, like block icons, fonts, lines etc... All that stuff does blur out for DPI scaling above 100%. Now, for people with external big screens, that's a non issue - as they can just go with 100% because of the big panels, but on a laptop (even if I grabbed a 17"), working with 100% scaling means microscopic icons and text. The reccomended scale for that monitor is 150%, but yeah...L6 apps are rendering terrible. It's a little thing but very annoying for the eyes. I will do a bit more research and then start an ideascale, but not holding my breath (I don't think there are too many users with high end panels on their laptop, facing that problem) Thanks for the links!
  9. Have fun! :) http://dawbench.com/images/DAWbench LLP Database-January 2021.pdf
  10. I know that's a weird question to put in a forum where no one from l6 is actually reading, but maybe we have someone here who knows more than me about that subject. I just grabbed a new laptop for DAW, coming from a 12 years old Samsung which was running FHD...so no problem whatsoever. Now, this new laptop has a wonderful WQXGA IPS panel that makes everything looking great, apart those few old applications that arent using a proper HiDPI scaling, like HX Edit and Native...making them looking really blurred and triggering eyestrain after some time working on them, especially since they are in contrast with everything else, like OS and DAW, which are using HiDPI. Basically is like your eyes are focusing backward, with background sharp as a knife, and foreground subject blurred as s++t. Do we know if there is any plan to introduce HiDPI for these apps? Am I missing some hidden trick to make them looking better at these resolution with high density per inch? How are they doing with Retina panels? Of course setting dpi to 100% isnt an option as would make things way to small and hard to read... (that's why HiDPI exist)

Id be more careful on the quit/shut down/sleep/wakeup procedure, as there are chipsets that are going BSOD when triggering a driver that is calling for a missing ext device. So for example, if you put your DAW in sleep, and you turn off your helix, better to turn ON helix again before wake up the DAW. I'm talking for personal experience and lot of suffering... :D
  12. You need to turn off Memory Integrity. Hope microsoft didnt locked this function for their PCs as would really be a dumb move...
  13. Epiphone vs Gibson Gibson vs Custom Shop Fender USA vs Mex Fender vs Squier Real Tube vs Modeling Ebony vs Richlite Rosewood vs Pau Ferro Mahogany vs Maple Tonewood vs firewood Klone vs Clones of Klone Fractal vs Helix etc vs etc... When it's about a sense which is SUBJECTIVE and that shares its boundaries with taste (which is also subjective), it's all forum bullcrap that wouldnt validate in any double blind test. Ever. ...Just play the damn thing, with stuff you like and that you can afford today.
  14. Yeah. Easy to prove; just try different mics and you will see how big difference they can make on both sides of the spectrum, outside the raw speaker range. An ir and a cab arent just speaker, but the interaction of all these elements. That's why they do measure in a controlled environment (measurement mics are virtually flat); to remove all ambient, cabinet and mic variables.
  15. Memory Integrity is useless for people using their workstation as they should be used.
  16. Oh sure, I was specifically talking about modeled pedals. Hardware side, I would be an idiot to say something bad about it. :) The overall palette of sound design, offered by today fractals, is pretty much the same rock/metal/fusion oriented palette as 30 years ago. Which is good for the vast majority of guitarist of course. Was just underlining the obvious; to each his own. :)
  17. Fractal engineering seems stuck to '90 in terms of sound design offered by their modeled pedals. Weird. For the kind of music I play, I couldnt be a fractal user, ever. They just dont have stuff I need. Maybe in the early 90, when I was a trash metal kiddo. :D Line 6 are constantly looking around, and keeping the pace also with modern pedal design, which is what keep me linked to that brand. Amp tone is just the very basic atom of a guitar tone, I will never understand the obsession around it....
  18. That's not a correct approach; the range you see in the manufacturer specs is referred to speaker only typically measured in a anechoic chamber with a measurement mic. An impulse response, and latest cabs, are based on full measurements of Speaker+Cab+Mic+Room. If you arbitrary cut the range of a cab or IR, to be in the range of the raw speaker specs, you'll be basically interfering with the full simulation response. As said above, a cab or a IR, already has its own correct profile. Id shape that range through the low/high cut, only to compensate your actual speaker/monitors (still I'd leave them alone for recording), in the case something doesn't sound good. Like too boomy, too fizzy, etc...
  19. Is there an admin here to pin the above tutorial thread? Hellooooo?
  20. Omg... did someone in the crowd pissed you off? +___+
  21. Sounds like hardware, probably power related. The fact it's showing up after the firmware could be just a coincidence.
  22. Just do your own research. There are like billions of youtube folks doing intensive tests and showing off every single detail of these things, A/B'ing them all etc.. Then, if you have a local store with an HX machine on the floor, just test it yourself.
