I've used POD devices for over 10 years playing live and the only time it ever had an issue was due to a bad ground at the venue I was performing at burned out some caps - but it still made it through the gig, just had a hum. An authorized Line6 repair center fixed it for me in 3 days for $80. But I understand what verlew is saying. I make sure I'm extremely careful handling the PODs. But then again I'm also extremely careful handling my Marshalls too - tube break easy, especially when hot.
-
I use the PODHD into the FX return of a Marshall stack and really like it. But it didn't come easy. Had to tweak on it but it wasn't too bad.

The V-Machine is $600 then just buy your favorite VST and go play live. Musebox is $1000 and comes with Revalver, which I recently tried - it was good but not good enough to replace the PODHD. I still haven't found a VST that's good enough to make me want to switch. So ok DI, are you telling us that other companies have done this and it didn't sell very well or you telling some of the people here to buy something else if they want to run their favorite VSTs and get updates all the time ?
-
I have to agree with xxxsoundxxx. I also develop and sell software. On one of my apps I raised the price from $199 to $499 and didn't do a thing to it. All of a sudden I got more sales. People thought it must be good because it costs as much or more than the competition. They actually told me that on several occasions.

Very nice job. When I hear tones like this I want to say to those people that have posted the PODHD has fallen way behind and they can get a $49 VST that blows it away - suck it morons...

On a PC you get ONE (1) sound card at a time. When you use the POD over USB it becomes the sound card instead of the one built into your laptop. The link below is a possible solution for but it won't be easy and may have too much latency. But it's supposed to do what you're asking. Input from the PODHD and output through a different sound card (your laptop). http://software.muzychenko.net/eng/vac.htm If the link above doesn't work then your options are: headphones or monitor speakers.

Works for me too but I also have it first in the chain. Maybe that's the key. Hey porcytree, you do have your Mix setting at 100% ? It should just work with changing the Pitch number. btw I'm using HDEdit. Glen, thanks for all the instructional videos you've done. Your stereo effect with a 20ms delay on one side is something I use all the time in live performances.

Such as ?

How much is the computer, interface, and pedals going to cost to run that software ? And doesn't it require host software too ? Last time I looked at BIAS it didn't include any effects either. The subject line was "No New Updates Ever". We've had updates. Let us know how much you want for that PODHD and good luck with your new $49 system.

I use the pitch shifter to tune down a half step using a hi gain tone and haven't noticed any artifacts. Is this something that usually happens with clean sounds or full amp models ? I use the Angel Pre in this particular patch. Guitars with a floating bridge can't be re-tuned very easily. If the pitch shifter didn't work for me I'd be upset also.

anyone heard of this pedal board? nux mfx-10

Yet another cheap modeler. Looks like they're going after the low end market for sure. I wouldn't expect much out of it but for $100 it would be something fun to practice or dink around with. -
Little things like just turning down your tone knob slightly on the guitar can fix feedback issues.
-
Been doing stereo for several years. It's a pain lugging around another amp/cab but when you set them on stage and spread them way apart it makes it all worth it.
-
Wow that struck a nerve. As Rlblues said, I was just trying to help. I've been though my fair share of different pickups and they can effect tone greatly. I wasn't knocking the Japanese made strat, they play great. But atleast for a while they sometimes used the Fujigen made pickups which may not help you with the tone you're looking for.
-
A Japanese strat ? Your pickups are most likely not helping you. It's not hard to buy a good replacement pickup and solder it in. It's also not expensive either. The biggest thing is finding the right replacement pickup. Don't buy the first thing you see or what the guy behind the counter needs to get rid of. Hopefully someone here can give a suggestion for a pickup. I personally use Di'Marzio on every guitar I have, but I don't have a strat and I mostly play hi-gain music.

Some of the hi-gain amps have a harshness and shrillness to them

A lot of things can fix this. If you're Presence is set high then reduce Treble and vice versa. Here's a link to the BlackSabbath patch I use. Maybe something in there will help. Although Input-Z at 32k helped me a bunch. http://www.ChildrenOfTheGraveBand.com/BlackSabbath.hbe You will have to rename the patch to BlackSabbath.hb5 if you have a POD HD500.- 1 reply

Kemper is almost a reasonable price. AXE is out of the ballpark. Maybe if the PODHD had cheap dual processors which would allow it to run better IRs then I think it could give Kemper and AXE some serious competition. One of those things where it's close enough to sounding the same for way less money. But that's new hardware... which it's almost time to consider that anyway.
-
I just went into the HDEdit software on my computer and assigned the pedal to the patch's amp volume and it worked for me. Of course this method doesn't reduce the amp's driven tone just the overall volume, but it doesn't take up an FX slot. Otherwise you can insert a volume control before the amp model and get more of a natural swell to the tone.
-
Is there any noticeable latency with the HD500 FX loop ? I was just wondering since it has to do a DA then AD conversion on top of the normal AD to DA conversion.
-
I wouldn't blame Line6 for this, even though they are the ones stuck with fixing it. Apple should have done a better job of not breaking things that used to run. If this was Microsoft instead of Apple, most people wouldn't hesitate to blame Microsoft. Latest isn't always the greatest. But sorry, there was nothing in my post that was helpful. I do know it takes a while to fix these things and it's not easy, even for very experienced programmers. Been there... Be patient, they'll get it working.

This link will explain everything. www.dilbert.com/2014-11-04/

I'd think Line6 has more ability to buy things now that they're part of Yamaha.
-
They are still available on eBay either brand new with warranty or used. New ones can be found for about $320 and used for $200. But no X versions for the bean.

Hook up a volt meter to the power supply and see what it says ? Should be 9volts. If it's not then just buy another power supply and you're good to go.
