  1. you b*stard! haha i want one so bad... and you are just making it harder to wait! <disclaimer for the sarcasm challenged... it was a F^&*'ing joke)
  2. well they've been like that since release... and they do work... are they the most intuitive? not really.... i can't speak to their internal thoughts on the matter... but given that the HD's have been out for 3 years as is... it's pretty safe to guess that they don't agree with your assessment.
  3. Please don't take that the wrong way... hang out stay a while... participate share ideas and gather knowledge... I just want to help people to understand, and to keep them from getting the wrong "facts"
  4. they had a choice... delay the update until it worked through a pod or release it.... they are surely still working on the pod aspect... but considering that the interface was included with every purchase, and not all owners have a pod,... releasing it now made the most sense.... you can label it til you turn blue... pitch a fit and throw a tantrum... but it won't make it come any faster.
  5. a bug is something that's supposed to work and doesn't.... currently it's not supposed to work and doesn't = a known limitation and not a bug. they tell you it won't work up front.
  6. i would recommend googling slimdrivers and run that... it will update some behind the scenes usb drivers.... if that doesn't help try some different usb ports... some are linked to internal hubs, and some usb 3.0 ports don't seem to work real well with usb 2.0 devices.
  7. you mean updates about this imagined update that everyone is dreaming up....? I would not be sitting around waiting on an update.... especially one that's based on desires and wishlists, rather than actual show stopping bugs. room for improvement? always.... critical issues needing resolved? not so much....
  8. It's not a bug.. works perfectly fine with the workbench interface. this is currently a known limitation, and will surely be enabled as soon as it is ready. every James Tyler Variax ships with this interface.... and if it's not a James Tyler Variax it won't work with Workbench HD anyway.
  9. the best way to do it would be to get a powered PA speaker and run an FRFR rig. (one of the new L2 or L3 speakers would be most ideal because of the integration, but not the only option.) this will help to keep your tone uniform.
  10. the toneport files will not be compatible with the floorpod.... you need to get a pod xt or x3 if you want to do that, they are both discontinued though... so second hand would be the way...
  11. yeah briefly... but i already have logic x so the drummer thing i was already familiar with. it's a bit different than a straight loop... "drummer regions" are your friends! haha makes it quite easy to change it up per section etc.
  12. I installed it the second it showed up yesterday... rather like it. it does rescan for plugins etc... also a new version of garageband etc... no problem with the line6 stuff. (or any other problems as of yet.)
  13. I do imagine that might do what you want... personally i'd put that money towards an interface that didn't need that box though.... although your interface looks like a nice one... it simply isn't meeting your needs.
  14. call support if you want someone to walk you through it.... http://line6.com/company/contact/
  15. they don't sell "spares" as in parts to consumers... never have... they make those parts available to service centers, and those service centers sometimes sell to consumers. in the case of the variax internals I don't think they are allowed to do so. no manufacturer will guarantee you parts for eternity....
  16. I've never seen a spdif connection that wasn't RCA, so i really just don't think its compatible with your interface.
  17. the dim presets require model packs.... you should be able to alter them and change the missing models to ones you have if you want... of course you can also buy the model packs...
  18. 1. yes, check ebay sold listings for a general idea... but you're getting it at a decent price. 2. most of the ones out there are Korean... mine is Korean and perfectly happy. 3. the guitars can be repaired, and currently getting service would not be an issue. 4. i like the neck, its kind of like a epiphone les paul or prs se type feel 5. completely... you'll be impressed that it doesn't feel like anything less than.
  19. your authorized service center would need to complete the install, and move the security chip from the old unit to the new unit... i believe... in any case it should be in the documentation available to authorized service centers. opening the ticket was the right thing to do, i'm sure that Line6 will get in touch with you.
  20. well you need a regular digital spdif cable... RCA to RCA make sure that the pod is set to 44.1, as i'm pretty sure that's the only format that garageband will work in. (although that could just be the only format it will record analog to, not positive as i use logic x) i've done what you're trying to do many times.. my interface is a tascam us1800.
  21. why not just have the exact same tone with the different amp you want loaded up in a separate preset next to the one you are using? not exactly a difficult issue. lots of people use dual amps with a single DT. (i'm generally not one...)
  22. No test that i'm aware of. you might be better just adding a second DT25 cab... something to consider.
  23. I would get the DT50 4x12. why? because the it has the same mix of speakers as the 2x12 DT50 and the models were likely developed with this mix in mind. I'm sure that many other cabs would give you decent performance as well... but you asked for the "best" i would think you'd get the best (AKA most accurate) performance from the speakers that were used as a reference when the models were developed.
  24. how exactly were you updating or trying to upload models to the guitar? it is a known limitation that you MUST use the workbench interface... for workbench HD.... so if you were trying to use your pod... it would not work. non-HD workbench will not work with a 2.0 flashed guitar....
