  1. Well, if it makes you feel better, you're not the only who noticed it... There's a guy over on TGP (who occasionally posts here as well) who has been obsessed with it for awhile... Digital Igloo, the guy who designed the Helix, has commented numerous times on it. Here's one example: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?posts/24636213/ As far as the workaround, it's really not that crazy. It takes all of five seconds to implement.
  2. How does it make it unusable? Generally people want the lower input impedance when using a fuzz because that's what happens with vintage fuzz pedals in the real world. As far as the workaround, I gave it in my original post. If you don't want the lower input impedance at all, simply change the Input Z parameter from Auto to something higher (1M-Ohm is kind of the default).
  3. Well, not all of the units produced were affected. The fact that you found three with a fault simply means you were particularly unlucky... Line 6 actually opened up a bunch of units and tested the components to determine what was wrong and what percentage of units were affected. Regardless of the number, they'll fix or replace units that have the problem. That's really all they can do. Recalls generally have a dismal response rate, even when it's dealing with stuff that has the potential to kill people. The problem with offering blanket fixes is that you get a lot of false positives. The bass player for my one band works at the Apple Store, and he was saying that when Apple started that offer to replace iPhone batteries for cheap, most of the ones he replaced were actually people who's battery was still working fine...
  4. Well, it's true I'm not a Line 6 employee, so nothing I say should be taken a statement from Line 6 or anything like that. But I'm just speaking from what I've seen from people who've had this issue here, on the TGP and on Facebook. It seems that in most cases, at least in the US, Line 6 has overnighted people replacements. But it sounds like GC will take care of it for you, so that's the way to go.
  5. If you're in the US, the standard warranty for the LT is two years, so you'd be good. I also believe that this pedal issue is such that Line 6 will replace your unit regardless of its warranty state. All that just to say it's up to you which way to handle it. If GC has another one in stock and can replace your unit, just do that. If they say they want to try to repair it, I'd open up a ticket with Line 6. I think the nature of this flaw is that it's not realistic to repair it, so they just have been sending replacements.
  6. Not a bug... That's the Input Z setting. If it's set to "Auto", it automatically changes the input impedance of the Guitar In jack based on the first block in the chain regardless of the block's bypass state. This may not be how some people want it to work, but multiple people from Line 6 have confirmed that this is the intended behavior. One workaround is to assign the input impedance to a controller (the same footswitch you're using for the fuzz) and have the max set to the lower impedance and the min set to 1M-Ohm.

    Midi commands

Well, you can have Preset Mode setup so you see 4 Stomps on the top row and 4 Snapshots on the bottom row. That's an option in the Global Settings menu. But there's no way to have those four buttons on the top row be global. You would need to program them in each preset.
  8. You can have up to 64 total controllers, including snapshot controllers, per preset... So go ahead and assign away!
  9. I don’t understand how you would want this work in the Helix...The levels of the amp models in the Helix can be set to whatever level you want them. There’s no need for any sort of virtual attenuator.

    HX Noise Floor

That's a defective unit... Yes, either return and exchange it or open up a ticket here. It sounds like you just got it, though, so I'd be inclined to return/exchange it.
  11. The Amplifi TT hasn't been discontinued as far as I know. Where are you getting that information?
  12. You can only use the 1-Stomp looper in Stomp Mode or in one of the Preset Mode views that has that stomp switch visible.
  13. Nope... They are completely different modeling platforms.
  14. The other thing I'll add is that the Line 6 site seemed very sluggish today, so perhaps the Updater was having trouble downloading the update. It seems to be working a lot better now. It might be worth seeing if you can download the flash file. You can always try running Updater in offline mode then.
  15. Have you tried to doing a factory reset? Hold down FS7 & FS8 (the two right-most buttons on the lower row) while powering up, and that will reset it... You don't happen to have anything plugged into the MIDI in and/or out jacks, do you?
  16. Well, he's talking about the Helix, and if you put an FX Loop in front of high gain amp model on the Helix, it can increase the noise floor. I think the issue is that the high gain amps increase the gain so much that it's raising the noise floor so much that you start hearing some of the dithering noise from the D/A conversion from the loop. This is a different than what happened with the HX Effects and the white noise issue.
  17. The Standard won't be receiving firmware updates. The Plus will.
  18. Yep, there's no battery in the HD500...
  19. Hmm... Typically you'd want the Mix at 100%, as that makes it a serial loop. What are the models of pedals you're actually using?
  20. The 4 Snaps/4 Stomps is a Global Setting for Preset View, so there's no way to change that per preset. You can, however, always hit FS1 & FS7 simultaneously to get into Snapshot Mode, and in that mode you'll always see 8 Snapshots. Personally, I prefer keeping Preset Mode set to 8 Snapshots. If I ever need to get into Stomp Mode, all I've have to do is hit the Mode Switch. I find it very fast to make changes if I need to that way.
  21. On the unit itself, if you navigate over to a block and hit the Action button, you can move blocks. If you move the block down, it will create a parallel path, and the Split block will be created automatically. The parallel paths only appear when you place a block in them. This applies to HX Edit as well.
  22. I don't believe so... I think the LFO is always running in the background.
  23. I use an external volume pedal in front of my HX Effects just because I like to keep the expression pedals free for other purposes. Where you put the volume pedal depends on how you want it work. If you want it to mute everything, than you'd put after all the effects. If you want to do swells, then you usually want to have it up front or perhaps after your gain effects and before your time-based effects.
  24. Do you have the FX loops set to instrument or line level? I use two of my Helix's loops all the time, and I don't have any tone loss.
