Zoom’s pitch shifting algorithms aren’t polyphonic either.

If you click on the little guy icon once you’re signed in, you’ll see a menu pop up. One of the headings says Hardware & Software. Underneath that, there’s a link that says Helix Marketplace. Click on that, and you’ll see the link to download your files there.

Make Bypass Assign behavior via MIDI CC in-line with Helix footswitches
phil_m replied to zappazapper's topic in Helix
If I’m understanding correctly, you’re saying you want to be able to have multiple blocks assigned to the same CC but not necessarily have the bypass state tied to the CC value range. I get it, but I think it’s a bit esoteric. The way Line 6 has implemented it is pretty standard. Is there a reason you can’t just assign the blocks to a footswitch and then use the CC associated with that footswitch? It seems the other option would be to use a MIDI controller that lets you assign multiple CCs to one footswitch so you don’t have to share the same CC across multiple blocks. -

The max delay time is 2 seconds, yes (for some models it’s shorter). This is one area of difference between the POD Go and Helix/HX devices.
-
First, make sure you don’t have Line 6 Updater open at the same time. That will prevent the Helix from connecting to HX Edit. Beyond that, are you trying to connect through a USB hub?
-
Did you do a factory reset after installing the update?

Your Helix is Pedal Edit Mode in that photo. You get into that mode by holding the Mode footswitch down. It allows you edit parameters of blocks with the footswitches, which is why you see those looper parameters. In order to use the 6 Switch Looper, you need to assign the Looper block to a footswitch in Stomp Mode. When you hit that footswitch, you’ll be taken to Looper Mode where you see all the looper functions.

You need to update HX Edit to version 2.92.

The loops go through a round of D/A-D/A conversion, so each one adds about 1.5ms of latency.

I’m not sure what you mean by “break away”, but as of the 2.80 update, you can turn hardware compatibility mode off in Native and ignore any DSP limitations associated with the hardware in a preset.
-
You can import some Helix presets into the Stomp, but they have to meet the requirements for the Stomp. They can only use one processor path, and they have to contain six or fewer blocks (this will be updated to 8 in the 3.0 update).

Control Helix LT via FBV3 USB - possible?
phil_m replied to harubert's topic in FBV Controllers (MKI / MKII / 3)
If you had them both connected to a computer it would be possible. But there’s no way to directly connect them to each other. -
POD Go uses kind of a revised version of dynamic DSP (btw, that phrase isn't actually in the POD Go manual anywhere, and I've not really seen it used as a selling point) where you have a semi-fixed chain along with some things that aren't fixed. It's not really any different than what many other manufacturers do. You could argue that they could have added another wild card block, I guess, but there's a good chance it wouldn't be usable in many chains. I guess they were trying to make the user experience as simple as possible where people would rarely hit a DSP limit, and it's not something they spend a whole lot of time thinking about. I actually don't think it would necessarily be a quick and easy change adding another block as it would mean rescaling all the block on the screen so they fit. Certainly not impossible, and maybe not that hard, but I don't know, I don't expect it to change. This is like a pretty fundamental design decision that I'm sure was talked about a lot in the development.

That amp will apparently work with a 2-button footswitch as well, but I’m not sure how it handles that. Even if would work with the HX Effects’ EXT AMP out, you would at most have access to two functions. MIDI will give you access to all of them.

Since the DS40CR has a MIDI in, yes.

Yes, you should be able to use the G10 transmitter with the G90 receiver. The only wrinkle is you'd have to use the G10 base to set the channel on the G10 transmitter. With the normal G10, the channel is always auto-selected, but on the G10S, you can manually set the channel. So it would work well with the G10S, not so much with the original G10.

There’s an announcement posted at the top of every forum at the moment regarding this very issue (compatibility with OS 11).

Ah... Well, you didn't say you were using Big Sur... I wouldn't be surprised if that's the root of the problem.
-
Right now, the only MIDI messages that the POD Go can send are the default PC messages associated with preset changes. I understand what you’re wanting to do, but, unfortunately, I don’t think there’s a way to do it at the moment.
-
It sounds like you’re trying to listen through your computer speakers. You need to have speakers or headphones connected to the POD Go in order to use it as an ASIO playback device.

The full manual is only available online. The only printed documentation that comes in the box is the Cheat Sheet, as you said.

So... we can turn off Snapshot Bypass but not Controller Assign?
phil_m replied to zappazapper's topic in Helix
That's correct. The only exceptions are the EXP1, EXP2 and EXP3 controllers. If those are set to Global or Per Preset, the physical position of the pedal will override the value saved in the snapshot. -
You can boost your preset level up to 20dB at the output block. I don’t know if trying to match the level of the drum tracks is the best strategy, though. While tracking, you may want to lower the drum tracks a little and then bring them back up as needed. It’s always easier to add gain than take it away when recording. As far the dry inputs (USB 3/4), those represent the unity gain level straight from your guitar, so those will be low. Those are primarily meant for re-amping. If you want to actually use them as tracks, you’ll need to boost them in your DAW.

You can change the type using Knob 4 in the Tuner screen. Set it to Fine to get back to where you had it. The Type parameter has been there for quite awhile now (since the 2.70 firmware, I believe), so you probably just didn’t notice it before, if indeed you were running 2.92 on your old unit.
