I looked at it again. It looks like you have the preset command assigned to the all the footswitches in the Command Center. I’d say delete it from the footswitches you don’t want it on and only assign it to FS4 in both presets. I kind of think you might be causing a loop with having the same command assigned to multiple footswitches. It might be firing causing you to go back to the original preset.

You have to set the command up in each preset. Right now, you just have it set up in Preset 1A. All of these commands are per preset (or per snapshot) only, not global. When you get to preset 1B, there’s no command set up, so there’s nothing for the footswitch to do.

Do you have an SD card inserted in your computer?

helix rack 3.0 update foot control 10 stomp mode doesn't work
phil_m replied to RandyDodd007's topic in Helix
Did you do a Restore from Backup after updating? That will get your Global Settings back the way they were before updating. -
Hit "Check for Updates" in HX Edit, and it will say there's an update available (assuming you've already updated HX Edit to 3.00). There is no update for HX Edit for this one.

Not sure what you mean by that. You hit the Mode footswitch to get into Stomp Mode. -

Still works for me... Nothing has changed in regards to how to get 10 Stomp Mode. You have to go to Global Settings>Footswitches>Stomp Mode Switches and select it there. -
TRS can be used for unbalanced stereo connections, but it’s also a common way to connect balanced mono connections. A typical microphone cable is a balanced cable, and at the XLR you have positive, negative and ground. A TRS jack is just another way to make these connections.

If you have patches where Path 1 feeds into Path 2, those patches will be silent when you load them in Spillover Mode. So it only works if the patches you’re loading are only using Path 1.

Known bug.

Do a factory reset by holding down FS2 and FS3 while powering up.

Just do a factory reset - hold down FS2 and FS3 while powering up. If you’ve not created any presets yet, you don’t need to do anything else.

Not sure what happened to the link, but you can download Line 6 Updater here: https://line6.com/software/ Just leave the first pulldown blank and select Line 6 Updater from the middle one.

They can be found in the link below. If you have Native, you could do what you’re talking about, yes.

Do you have a way to try different headphones and connect it to something else?

So how are you monitoring your Helix through? Are you using the XLR outs? Is there any chance they have phantom power running to them?

I don’t think it’s necessarily that unusual for processors to filter MIDI Sysex messages. I know of a few processors that do it, for sure. I think they’re just trying minimize the potential for problems downstream. MIDI is sort of a clunky protocol, and it get bogged down once it’s start dealing with larger amounts of data.

I would open up a support ticket if you haven’t. I have seen occasional posts about people losing sound, but none of them seem to follow a set pattern. It could very well be hardware related, unfortunately. I use my Rack way more than my Floor, and I rarely turn it off. Even when I used my Floor more, I would leave it on for long stretches, and I’ve never run into these sorts of issues. So I don’t think it’s an expected behavior in any way.

I would close HX Edit and restart the Helix. You can try sending the update in HX Edit again, but if it still gives you trouble, try using Line 6 Updater instead.

This is a known bug in 3.0 that shows up in the presets views that show 4 presets.

If it sounds good in the recorded track, than that means you're hearing the unaltered guitar somehow. I'm wondering if you're hearing the direct guitar along with the processed tone. Is this with Stomp or Native?

Well, one thing with that riff starting with an octave like it does, is that it can reveal if you have any intonation issues. You'll get beating if you're out of tune at all, and those sort of things will sound even worse by pitch shifting.
