I had an unfortunate typo there that I’ve changed. It should have said “unbearable without using headphones”. With headphones I don’t notice the strings... So, what exactly are you hearing?
-
Well, you're playing Sweet Child O' Mine, for one... :-) Define "awful"... Are you hearing warbling, artifacts, etc? I mean, with single notes, it be tracking very well. I just tried that riff here, and it seems fine. Are you sure you're not hearing the sound of the strings with the shifted pitch? I find the virtual capo stuff almost unbearable without using headphones just because of the dissonance between the sound from the strings and what's coming from the speakers.

Not sure why you’re saying that’s a problem. The updates aren’t like Windows updates, thankfully. You don’t have to install each and every one of them. Just go straight to the newest one. And actually, now, you should go straight to 3.0.

I owned a Kemper Rack for a little while. I was never going to replace my Helix with it, but I was interested in what it was like. Overall, it sounded fine, but for the types of sounds I like, it really didn’t give me anything I couldn’t do with the Helix. I thought it might be fun to profile some of my own amps, but in the end, I didn’t feel my profiles sounded any better than my Helis presets. I found the Kemper UI not really hard to use, but just sort of clunky. It’s very much more like an old-style modeler UI. The one thing I really did dislike about it was the process of searching through a ton of profiles to find the ones you liked. I’m dating myself with this comparison, but it reminded me of when I would go to used CD stores and look through the bins of albums. It would always seem like there would 50 crap titles for every one you might be interested in. In the end, after realizing I had gone a few months without turning it on, I sold it.

You need to download and install HX Edit 3.0.

None of the effects that weren't part of the update were changed, so something else is causing this. If I had to guess, I'd say it probably has to do something with dry signal coming through on a parallel path.

Yeah, they do correspond to those colors, although the Powercab Plus has had additional speaker models added since the time the original release. If you scroll through the available speaker models in speaker mode, you’ll see the LED change color. The color that comes up as you select each model is the default color associated with that speaker.
-
The LED colors don't really mean anything. Those are just the different colors associated with each speaker model. You can choose a different color for the preset if you want.

There never were any firmware updates for the M5 beyond the production firmware - 1.0.0.

Crashed while updating to 3.0 now I can't get it on help please?

Try forcing Helix into update mode by holding down FS6 & FS12 while powering up and then try sending the update with Line 6 Updater. -
If you’re running the 2.92 firmware, you have them... What is causing you to believe you don’t have them? Are you running HX Edit 2.92?
-
Yeah, if I had to guess, I'd say that the people who post here probably represent less than 1% of the Line 6 user base. I'm kind of surprised they've kept them running in one sense, but on the other hand, it doesn't cost them much to do it. But it's not like there's a full-time employee for the forums. There are a few people who check in every now and then. I've talked a little to them about the log-in stuff, so I think there's some awareness to it. I'm sure it's just one those things that's easy to push to the back burner.

The Stomp has one setlist of 126 presets. The artist presets are only available to Helix, LT and Rack users. I’m not of any of them are compatible with the Stomp or not (I’ve actually not had a chance to even really look at them yet).

I usually stay signed in between visits. There are occasional weird things, though. The most annoying thing is that often when I click on a thread on my iPhone I’ll be logged out when I get in the thread. The weird thing is if I hit the back button, I’ll be logged in again when back at the main page. The software just seems finicky.

No, the PX-2g is a 9V AC power supply, and the POD Go requires 9V DC. Connecting an AC power supply to the POD Go could potentially damage it.

Restoring the Backup doesn't touch the firmware. It just restores all your presets, IRs, and Global Settings (and moving forward, Favorites and User Defaults). Really, though, the only reason they have that step is because of the Global Settings. It's pretty common for those to changed through the update, and rather than going through all the menus manually, doing the Restore from Backup sets them all back in one step. If you want, you can de-select all the categories except Global Settings, and that way the only thing to be restored will be your global settings.

I don’t know that preset actually exists as a factory preset. That was from early promo shots of the Stomp.
-
The acoustic simulator will probably be added, but the polyphonic effects won’t be, I’m sure. They’re simply too DSP intensive.
-
Well, technically, trademark... But I think giving the users the ability to change the default name of every block would probably be a grey area that Line 6 doesn’t feel would be worth the risk.
-
You can actually rename in the blocks you have saved as Favorites whatever you want. So if you want to have a Favorite called Fender Twin or whatever, go ahead.
-
Well, the display indicates the pedal position when you move the pedal. If it’s jittery, it could be a bad cable. There’s a global setting under Displays>Pedal Position Display if you want to turn it off.

This is a known bug that shows up if you’re using one of the preset views that shows 4 presets.
