I don’t think there are any plans to add reverb to the Powercab, but I don’t know for sure. This was probably just a brain fart from the manual writer mixing the Powercab and DT functionality together.

What you’re most likely hearing is the secondary delay controlled by the Scale parameter. The Scale parameter creates a secondary delay at any value less than 100. The number represents the time relative to the main delay time. So if you have 400ms as the delay time and the Scale parameter at 75, the secondary delay would be at 300ms. Or in note values, if you have the delay time set to 1/4 notes, having the Scale at 75 would give you dotted eighth notes. This can be useful if you want to have these sort of dual delays. If you don’t want them, just turn the Scale parameter to 100.

Alesis and M-Audio are both owned by the same company, actually.... inMusic is not known for its stellar after-sale service...

You can have the tempo saved per snapshot. Go to Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo>Tempo Select and set it to Per Snapshot.

I just tried this with mine, and it looks like the tap LED kind of hangs while changing modes, and then it re-syncs again. Not sure if it's a bug, exactly, or just something related to changing modes.

Line 6 changed the default settings for all the cab blocks a while ago. I don’t remember what firmware version they did that... maybe 2.80? They all come in with the low cut set to 80Hz and the high cut set to 8kHz. This is the same as the POD Go.

For extra tone stack controls like that, the setting that represents the actual amp is 5. The default settings are just what whoever dialed in the settings thought sounded best. For non-master volume amps, the having the Master at 10 represents the real settings. For Presence, 0 represents the real settings. I believe for all the other exposed power amp settings, 5 is the neutral setting that represent the actual unaltered amp.

Yes, it’s normal. The Stomp gets relatively warm when powered up.

Does it makes any difference if you tweak the parameters? To me, what's being shown on HX Edit makes sense because it's not really mixing anything in this configuration.

The hxb file is a backup that contains all your presets, IRs and global settings. Just go to File>Restore From Backup in HX Edit to get everything back. The firmware will remain at 3.01.

I don't think it ever worked like this. If you have FS3 set to Tap/Tuner, it remains that way in Stomp and Scroll Modes. You've never been able to have it both ways. If you have a stomp assigned to FS3, that stomp will be available in Stomp Mode and Scroll Mode.

helix (SOLVED) What am I doing wrong??? No Helix audio when USB plugged into iMac
phil_m replied to vanderbilly's topic in Helix
Well, I mentioned in my first reply above. It seems Logic is sending the MIDI CC associated with the expression pedal. Do you have the full Helix? Is the scribble strip above the onboard pedal displaying a percentage when this happen? I don't remember if that happens in response to receiving the CC associated with it or not. -

On the Helix, try going to Global Settings>MIDI/Tempo>MIDI Over USB and setting it to Off. -

These seem to be contradictory statements... So the Position parameter isn't changing to zero when you plug the USB cable in, but after you stop moving the pedal, it drops to zero? -

Does the Volume pedal Position parameter go to zero on the Helix when you plug in the USB cable? To me it seems like the Logic is sending a rogue CC message to the Helix for some reason. -
It also occurs to me that you might be talking about having Stomp Mode set to 6 switches instead of 4. So in that same menu under global settings, make sure the Stomp Mode setting is set to "4 Switch" if you want to see the Up/Dn switches in Stomp Mode.

Metal center of the tuning knob falls out
phil_m replied to brunson's topic in James Tyler Variax Guitars / Workbench HD
Yeah, it's a relatively common thing. It's just secured by a little glue. Just take a small dab of super glue or other epoxy type glue and smear it around the edge of the cap and it will stay on. -
This has always been a global settings. You just need to change it back. Or, really, what you should do is go to File>Restore from Backup in HX Edit (per the update instructions) to get everything back in order. You can just select "Global Settings" from the list of things to restore if you want.

Any volume pedal will work after the G10 receiver. It doesn’t have to be an active pedal.

If you want the audio running through the path before the Return block to pass through it, you need to have the Mix parameter lower than 100. At 100, all you’re hearing then audio from the source plugged into the return jacks. So in essences the Return 1/2 block is blocking the audio from the Return 3/4 block. If you don’t want to change the Mix parameter, and you want to be able to control the level of both these things separately, move one of the Return blocks down to create Path 2B. Then move the Merge and Split blocks down so path 2A and 2B will be independent paths.

Yes. Just download HX Edit 3.0, and run the update, and you’ll be good to go.

Well I know several of the Line 6 folks personally. They definitely care. I don’t think they would agree with your assessment of being left behind, though. I don’t think that’s what driving them. And honestly, I think it’s silly to say they’re being left behind when they’re consistently outselling their competitors... But that’s another story. I don’t know. You do what you want. You just have a long list of negatives. I couldn’t come up with such a list even for devices I don’t like. Really, I’ve never gotten rid of something purely for sonic reasons. To me, most things out there now are close enough for me to not care enough. It all comes down to what gets me from point A to point B with the least amount resistance.

The Victoria guys were hired perhaps as far back as 2018, IIRC. I’m not sure how you can Line 6 is saying what they have is the best hey can offer when they’re constantly adding new features. I don’t suspect they’ll be adding additional parameters to existing effects, at not that much. Perhaps here and there. I just think if they were constantly fiddling with existing stuff, it would prevent them adding the new stuff. The reason people get offended is that describe something they personally like as crap... It’s not really so much about being a fanboy as much as having your personal preferences constantly criticized.
