  1. Well, whatever it was, I hope they have more of it, because it’s awesome. Seriously, that model is right up there with all the best tape emulations out there. I like just as much as Strymon, and much better than Empress or Source Audio. What about the Helix do you actually like?
  2. I think it sounds amazing! You’re smoking crack if you think it sounds bad! Probably my favorite delay period right now. Honestly, perhaps the Helix isn’t the right modeler for you. Between here and Facebook, your complaints are very numerous.
  3. Another thing I remembered yesterday because someone asked about it over on TGP - the Cosmos Echo, the RE-201 model - has the FB Tone parameter. This parameter controls the exact thing this thread is talking about. If you have at low values, the repeats start degrading pretty quickly. At higher values, they stay pretty clean. The Bass and Treble controls affect the overall repeats, but not in a successive fashion.
  4. Well, I’d open up a support ticket. To me, it seems like perhaps the actuator under that switch is malfunctioning.
  5. I’m not sure I understand the issue. Does hitting the Mode footswitch not take you into Stomp Mode? There is no mode called Bank Mode, so I’m entirely sure what you’re referring to.
  6. This isn’t the expected behavior. Have you done a reset since updating? If not, I’d do that. Hold down FS7 & FS8 while powering up and then after that do a Restore from Backup.
  7. I don’t know... This is literally the first negative comment I’ve read about it. Have you seen this clip? This dude seems to get some quite massive sounds out of that model.
  8. What would be the use case for having this sort of rack gear modeled in the Helix? I like the Distressor as well, but there are several good plug-in versions out there. It just seems for gear that’s more pure studio stuff, most people would just go the plug-in route.
  9. As noted above, what you’re doing wrong is not using a cab or IR block with the amp block. There are single blocks that have both an amp and cab combined. Those are under the Amp/Cab category. You chose just an amp from the Amp category.
  10. How are you logged into your Line 6 account if you don’t know the password? I suppose it could just be saved with the browser. You should be able to reset you password using the “Forgot Username or Password” link on the sign in page for the site. You probably have to sign out to get to it.
  11. Not sure on this one. A reverb block will maintain stereo separation on the dry side. There is bleed from one side to the other as far as the wet signal is concerned, though. But this is pretty much how all stereo reverbs work.
  12. Amp and cab blocks are mono in Native (with the exception of the dual cab block). So if you have a stereo signal coming into an amp block, it will be summed to mono. And, yes, this is different than how POD Farm handled stereo signals. I believe it’s primarily because of the close integration of Native with the Helix hardware.
  13. The Stomp is a 2.0 device. There’s no benefit to using a 3.0 cable with it.
  14. It's just a remote control. I believe at one time there was some thought that they might add the MIDI over USB capability to it, but, honestly, it probably doesn't have enough sales to justify it at this point. As long as you have the Helix Rack, you can use it as a MIDI controller for Native through the Rack.
  15. The Line 6 tape delay models certainly degrade as you'd expect a tape delay to. The Legacy Lo Res model behaves more in a way that like the OP is talking about, although it starts out pretty degraded out of the gate. But the repeats seem to get more degraded as they go on. That one starts to self-oscillate at pretty low feedback settings.

    64 Bit?

There is literally no reason for 64-bit audio to exist. Even 24 bit converters allow for greater dynamic range than analog equipment is able to provide. Having 32-bit floating point internally increases the headroom so that clipping “in the box” is basically not possible (clipping and overloading a certain function are different things, btw). As far as sampling rate, again, there’s not anything to be gained by having converters at super high sampling rates. Oversampling internally is something that basically all the top players do already.
  17. James isn’t a moderator, per se, although I’m sure he has moderator permissions here. He’s the head of QA at Line 6. I’m not sure how often he looks at that thread, but I imagine he keeps tabs on it.
  18. No, you can directly to 3.01. There is no HX Edit version 3.01, though, so I can see how that might get lost in translation.
  19. This means you’re using the wrong version of HX Edit. Every time I’ve seen it happen, that’s what it’s been. You need to download and install HX Edit 3.0.
  20. You need to download and install HX Edit 3.0. You didn’t lose anything.
  21. Hit the Page > button. There’s a bunch more settings under Ins/Outs.
  22. I’m not sure I understand what you mean by this, but the state of the onboard pedal, as far whether EXP1 or EXP2 is active, is saved with the preset. So it doesn’t matter which one is active in the preset you’re leaving, it will go to whatever state the pedal was in when the preset was saved.
  23. The large volume knob never controlled the USB output. The update does mess with your global settings, though. Based on your other thread, I’d recommend you’d do a factory reset (hold FS7 and FS8 while powering up), and then do a Restore from Backup.
