No, stay where you are! There are far to many people already in here having fun - no room left!

Hi Bert, OK.

No Audio outside of my DAW with Helix Native Running
datacommando replied to paulmoranau's topic in Helix Native
Hi Paul, Sorry for the delayed response, but I have only just seen your post. Not many.visitors In this forum. Anyhow, you don’t say what your computer system is, but because you mentioned FL Studio, I will guess you’re using a PC running Windows. I’m Mac based using Logic Pro and a Helix Floor unit as the audio interface, although I also have a Behringer UMC204HD as a spare backup unit. My guess is that because you have FL using the UMC204HD for audio in and out, the rest of you system needs to be configured to use the Behringer to process any other audio from the PC. IIRC, this can be set up using the control panel, then any other audio from YouTube, Spotify or whatever will be sent through you audio interface to your speakers. Hope this helps/makes sense -
Wow! That is a complex thing. Sorry that I couldn’t help on this .

Hi again, Well that was very helpful of them. Let me try to understand your issue with Native and Studio One. O.K. You have an audio track recorded in Studio One and have loaded HX Native as a plugin on that track. When you playback the track you want Native to swap from 1 preset to another. Example preset 1A to 1B?. This sort of thing could be approached in many ways. You could split the original audio file at the point where you need the change occur. Then put one of the split sections on another track, and use another instance of Native on the second preset, so as one section finished the second one starts seamlessly using a different preset. Other options would be to programme changes via MIDI and use those commands to trigger the changes. Also you could use the Snapshot features in Helix Native to make the changes inside the original audio track, but remember to add trails to any effects that may need them. Hope this helps/make sense.

Hi, What you’re describing seems to be very odd. I can understand, if you have your HXLT connected directly to your computer via USB, there could be a problem that causes you to encounter the BSOD. Although, if this happens when your LT is connected to the audio inputs on the front of your AudioBox, and the PreSonus is hooked up to the USB, that would indicate the problem is more likely to be something is not right with your computer and/or the USB. When using the LT into the AudioBox then that is simply an audio signal, nothing really to make the PC collapse. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, The best thing to do is consult the PreSonus Studio One documentation, as your question is more related to the functions of that product, rather than a general Helix Native issue. Unless someone on here, who is a regular user of Studio One, can chime in to assist? I’m a Logic Pro X user, although I do have an old demo version of Studio One 4, which I think I have only loaded a couple of times simply to check if HXN would work as a plugin. Same with Reaper, Ableton Live etc, never really use them other than testing that they can load Native. Hope this helps/makes sense.

I like the Line 6 Tape Delay and possibly use that more than all the others available. Although, when it comes to degradation nothing in this world could ever come close to my old 1970s Simms Watts Echo Dek. That thing constantly shed oxide onto the tape heads for that totally authentic muffled effect. I both loved and hated that machine until it finally ceased to function, and I took the leap to digital delay back in the early 80s. All good stuff in the Helix, and it’s light years away from were I started.

Did you restore your Stomp from the backup file you made before updating the firmware to 3.01? The update will have reset you Global settings, and the Globals determine your snapshots behaviour. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Could be worth a shot - nothing to lose - best to try as many options as possible. The main reason I suggested the safe boot routine was the OP said that he had been in the process of updating from v.2.7.when this happened. IIRC there seemed to be a lot of failed updates at around mid point of the install to v2.8 and beyond, because the Core was changed which seemed to cause lots of "update bricked my Helix" complaints when they got stuck at 50%. Also the OP had said that HX Edit failed to connect to the Helix, which is why I thought that the "local install" of the firmware might be a better option. Anyhow, if none our suggestions work, it will mean a return too base to have a technician look inside the box. ;-)

Hi, You haven’t said what your computer and Operating System are, but let’s try this. First go to the "DOWNLOADS" menu at the top of this page and from "-ALL HARDWARE-" select Helix, then leave the "-ALL SOFTWARE-" as it is, now select your PC/Mac OS from under the "-ALL OS-" tab, then click “GO”. From the next page you can select HX Edit 3.00 for your Helix, then below that you will also need the Firmware 3.01 Flash Memory. Now scroll right the way down the page where you will find Line 6 Updater version 1.9. Download all these items to your computer and note where they are. Ensure that HX Edit is closed and that you have your Helix connected to your PC by USB cable (do not use a hub, some front USB ports on PCs act like a hub, so use one of the ports on the back) and hold down Foot Switches 6&12 while turning the power on. This will put your Helix into “Safe Boot” mode and you may see a black, or error screen, but keep going. Now, launch the Updater Utility that you downloaded and select "Offline Mode". Your Helix and current firmware version should now show up in the window, click on the dark green coloured band and you should now have the option to select a local file - point it at the Flash Memory file you downloaded and let it get on with the update. When it completes you can install the new HX Edit v.3.0 software and you should be good to go. No guarantees are given or implied, you do this at your own risk. If it doesn’t work, raise a ticket with Customer Support. Hope this helps/makes sense

Helix Native and FL Studio ....need help pls
datacommando replied to paulmoranau's topic in Helix Native
Hi Paul, I don’t know anything about Fruity Loops, as I am Mac based and running Logic Pro X, but it would appear to me that you have an issue with the software monitoring and how it’s routed. I suggest that you have a look at the manual for Fruity Loops, to see how you need to route the input from your audio interface to listen to the processed guitar signal from the plugin and not the direct “dry” guitar signal. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
URGENT: 3.01.0 Firmware with bugfixes just released

URGENT: 3.01.0 Firmware with bugfixes just released
datacommando replied to HonestOpinion's topic in Helix
Hi, They didn’t “break” it in 3.0, it was never quite correct, something to do with the resonance. Line 6 had already been made aware of this for quite some time and it is scheduled to be fixed in the next FW update. Some users thought that the modified, correctly functioning, Rat model would be a new addition and the one already there would be retained as it stands. In a post from DI, that I read, he says the existing one will be fixed with no additional new direct replacement. Hope this helps/makes sense -
If anyone is interested Helix Native 3.01 is available to Download. 12/8/20 “The Helix 3.01 update addresses potential severely corrupted audio output. Due to this, we recommend updating your Helix family device as soon as possible. This issue may also be experienced on Helix Native, an update for Native will be available in the very near future.” Nobody dropped in here from Line 6 to let you know - they must all be busy working on the next version. Hope this helps

Last time that Digital_Igloo posted about an update was for 1.50 in January 2018 IIRC, some were asking in this forum. Hope this helps.

Hola, Eso parece ser algo muy serio y necesitará un técnico para arreglarlo. No estaría contento con esto, porque ha sucedido antes, pediría que lo reemplacen. Espero que esto ayude y sí, soy extranjero.

[/offtopic] Ah, FireWire! I gave away my Focusrite Saffire setup when I moved to the Retina 5k iMac which is Thunderbolt 2, and is outrageously expensive. I bought the Thunderbolt to FireWire cables and wasn’t impressed. It might be slick but it’s not for me - I just use the Helix and USB for my needs right now. -
Hi again, Francis, Sorry that none of my suggestions managed to fix the error. I’m not sure how the Customer Service works in South America, but there must be some way of getting it returned to base if it needs circuit board repairs to be done. You didn’t mention if this is a new Rack unit, because if it is, your warranty should cover any repair work - even if the repair has to be paid for there should be some service centre for the Southern Hemisphere. The thing is, this forum is for users of Helix products and only occasionally does anyone from Line 6 post here, usually to let us know of an update. One thing you could try is to post on The Gear Page about this problem and see if you can attract the attention of Frank Richotte (Senior Director of Operations at Yamaha Guitar Group) to make him aware of your situation. I have seen him take onboard complaints from users in out of the way places and he can make sure that they can get the service they require. Here is the link: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/line6-helix.1586637/page-3424 Remember to mark your post for attention of Frank Richotte. That will get you right to the top man, and you can explain you distress. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Same here. When I took the Helix floor out of the box, I simply connected the first one to hand. It’s been like that ever since. Also, the ones with the ferrite ring on the ends, never seemed to make a great deal of difference when I’ve used them. Just plug in and hope for the best. -

Hi, This seems to be some sort of USB voodoo, because for many years now people have said that they had issues with the original cable that came with their hardware. Others have said that, if you have an existing one, just because it works with your printer or other peripheral equipment, that’s no guarantee that it will work with Line 6 items. Others report that using a shorter cable works, yet some one else might say that a longer one works fine for them. It’s a complete mystery and a somewhat like a lottery. It totally baffles me that the majority of users can perform a painless and quick update to the firmware, and others experience absolute chaos. It’s completely inexplicable, too many variables - l must live on a ley line. Line 6 posted this way back in 2006 -

Damn, that’s weird. I’m not a Windows user so really, if you have already checked out infamous SD Card/ Drive 0 thing mentioned by HonestOpinion and phil_m in their posts above, then it’s beyond my scope. The only thing I can offer is that you may find something in this thread: https://line6.com/support/topic/49342-hx-edit-281-and-helix-native-starting-with-with-a-blank-screen-and-crash/page/3/?tab=comments#comment-355919 Hope this helps/makes sense. -

Hi, Failing to open would appear that something might have got corrupted. When you go to the Downloads page on the EULA section when you click on “Accept & Download” the server performs a checksum routine on the file. If it passed that it should be a good download. I can only suggest that you try downloading again using a different web browser to see if that helps. The reason I mention this is because there had been a spate of messed up downloads of installers by some people using Firefox and that was screwing up the install. There again, a restart is always a good idea after updating/installing software. Hope this helps people/makes sense. -
That's very odd, I just opened it in Logic Pro X v10.4.4 and it works fine. Sometimes you have to restart the mac for Logic to pick up on a new plug-in/ Does it show if you check the Logic Pro X > Preferences > Plug In Manager? Oh, hum somedays are like that.

helix rack still in production today Moonshine2015
datacommando replied to moonshine2015's topic in Helix
O.K. I realise that you are upset about the failed joystick with your B Stock Rack unit, so for the sake of sanity, I will say this final thing about when you get your NEW replacement rack unit. When you take the nice new shiny metal box from the carton and plug in the power, check the firmware number, because that may give you an idea of how long it has been gathering dust on a warehouse shelf. The first thing you are going to want to do is update the firmware. I seriously doubt that it will be v3.01, v3.0, or even back to v.2.9 as they were all released in 2020. More likely to be earlier versions such as 2.81 or 2.80 which were 2019. Anything from 2.7 down to 2.5 are 2018, then 2.3 down to 2.12 are 2017. Prior to that 2.11 to 1.06.5 are from 2016. God forbid you get a low number, or you will be back crying that it is not new! You will no doubt be back when you realise not having the Controller board was a mistake. That’s it - done!
