Helix Native stuck on authentication screen (Mac, Logic Pro)
datacommando replied to llllPyRollll's topic in Helix Native
Hi, At the bottom of the download page of Helix Native for Mac OS there is this statement: Compatible OS: Mac OS X, macOS Sierra, macOS High Sierra, macOS Mojave, macOS Catalina Furthermore at the top of this page in an orange banner with a "sticky post" entitled: "MacOS 11 Compatibility with Line 6 Software" I'm aware some people say they are using HX Native, but most are not without issues. This is not just a problem with Line 6 software, it's throughout the industry. Hope this helps/makes sense -
Owner’s Manual page 39 “Global Settings > Preferences > Page 2 > Knob 3 > Parameter >Numbering” If you have recently updated the firmware then your Globals will have been reset. You can restore them to their previous condition by loading the Backup File (that you made prior to updating) in HX Edit and loading them back into your HX FX. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Anybody have a Helix Native license for sale?

See post above from “emongold75”. He didn’t quote you so maybe it didn’t get flagged up. -
HX Edit disconnect my HX Stomp when I run Logic Pro
datacommando replied to kfjonathanwang's topic in Helix
It maybe advisable to read this very old explanation of USB and audio issues. You will also have noticed how Logic Pro takes control of your HX Stomp if you use it as an audio interface. HX Edit doesn’t like anything else running on USB at the same time and while you’re using HX Edit it can suddenly disconnect if it loses focus on the hardware. That is, for example, if you have HX Edit open and then spend several minutes messing around in Logic, when you go back the connection is gone. Simple solution, run HX Native in Logic Pro X. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi again, Jeff, Now that appears to be a failure within the component rather than a firmware glitch, although I am not aware of this being a common problem. I don’t know if your HXFX is still under warranty, but it will probably need an electronics engineer to check it out. Contact Line 6 Customer Support for more advice. Good luck.

Hello Steve I know that you stated that going back to v2.20 makes everything work correctly, but did you then try the suggestion to update to v2.71 and see if it still works as it should. If it does then you can try to proceed by installing each update until you find where it fails. I this doesn't fix things then the best option is to do what the Support team suggest and contact your reseller or Line 6 Service in your area. Sorry that i cannot be anymore helpful than that. Good luck.

Hi, Steve, A problem with your Helix is never good, but the Christmas and New Year period is even less of a good time to have a problem. One word should explain it - Holidays! There is a “blue sticky banner” at the top of these pages which explains “Delay in Support Request Responses”. These pages are for Helix users, Line 6 staff do not visit here that often. If none of the other users can provide assistance with your issue, then the best thing to do is contact Line 6 Customer Support directly, but the caveat in the sticky, above, still applies. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi Jeff, You don’t mention if you tried, but a Factory Reset never goes amiss when weird stuff happens. Could be a simple glitch, try one of the reset options here to see if it clears. Suggest FS6+TAP. Hope this helps/makes sense. HX Effects Button Combination Description Holding FS3 + MODE Will clear all Presets and IRs Holding FS4+FS5 Will reset Global Settings Holding FS5+FS6 Will reset Presets only Holding FS6+TAP Will Perform factory restore (reset, Globals, IRs, and Presets) Holding the right arrow ">" Will put the unit in a fail safe update mode. Use this when the HX Effects is in an un-recoverable state If a reset doesn’t fix it, then it could be a mechanical failure of the part, and you should raise a ticket with Customer Support.

Bug? Native v3.01 AU not loading in Izotope RX 8 audio editor
datacommando replied to lou-kash's topic in Helix Native
Oh, yes, I gave up on that sort of thing after trying to rescue some old multitrack tapes that had been badly stored and had “magnetic print through” on most of them, plus they had to be baked in an oven. The last time I used Audition was a mainly to de-click and de-hiss some mid 1980s 4 track cassette tapes, but I wouldn’t want to do restoration full time. They were original recorded on one of these, which now no longer functions and is gathering dust in the corner of the studio. See pic attached. Regards. -
Bug? Native v3.01 AU not loading in Izotope RX 8 audio editor
datacommando replied to lou-kash's topic in Helix Native
Good point indeed. Alway good to check. Always good to know of any possible problems. Off topic// Same here, but now retired. I left Art School in 1969 and spent years as both an Airbrush Artist and the Supervisor of a traditional “lick and stick” studio and darkroom - all Rapidograph tech pens, Letraset, Cow Gum and chemistry. Around 1987 I convinced my then employers to adopt Apple’s “new technology” by producing camera-ready artwork from a Mac SE30, Aldus PageMaker and an early Apple PostScript Printer. From 1990 up to 2017 I worked as a professional freelance Digital Design consultant and trainer in Adobe graphic apps, so I guess I just stuck with their products through familiarity. Affinity is a good product- give it a spin. That’s a good deal. You may also have come across Zplane’s DeCoda and PEEL which are sort of similar in some ways. I was intending to download a demo of each of these to try out. link: https://products.zplane.de/peel Hope you can figure out why the AU doesn’t load. Regards. -
Bug? Native v3.01 AU not loading in Izotope RX 8 audio editor
datacommando replied to lou-kash's topic in Helix Native
If the VST version functions as it should in RX8 Elements, then simply use that version. As Elements is the stripped down of the application, then I would download the 30 day demo of the full version to see if the same thing happens with that one. There must be a reason that Elements is only 10% of the price of Standard. I realise that third party plugin hosting is a feature of the software, but there is also the chance that the bug/issue is in Izotope RX8 Elements rather than something in HX Native. Might be worth investigating this with Izotope Customer Support. I also think that Izotope have a list of compatible software on their site. I use some Izotope plugins that are really good, but I generally tend use Adobe Audition for audio clean up jobs, so I haven’t any first hand experience of RX8. Hope this helps/makes sense. -

Hi, That was one of the first things that I tried when I got my Helix Floor unit back in 2016. Only wanted to access some of the old FX that Helix didn’t have, e.g. Dimension. No need to do that now, as all the stuff that was available in the earlier HD, M9 & M13 boxes was added as Legacy effects in the 2.50 firmware update. Suppose you could save a couple of blocks by just using a Helix FX Loop to use a chain of old FX in the HD500. Yeah, it works just like any other gizmo in an FX loop. Have fun.

Hi, As you are obviously aware, posting here is not enough, you actually have to post your ideas/request onto the IdeaScale site to be voted on. Find it here: https://line6.ideascale.com Ensure that nobody else has made the same request otherwise you will simply split the vote. If it already exists, then you can vote it up. Afterwards you can post here, in the correct thread (link below), to let other users know what you have asked for. That way, they can vote for it if they like the idea. https://line6.com/support/topic/14497-helix-ideascale-community-submissions/page/1/ Most of the latest effects, amps and functions added to firmware got into the Helix, because they started out on IdeaScale. Hope this helps/makes sense. Happy New Year.

Hi, It could be an even bigger leap if you take the advice give by “phil_m”, above. Get the HX Stomp and not only do you have the amp and cab models along with all the FX, but you add the ability to re-amp whatever you record. Along with the original stereo output from the Stomp, you can record an unprocessed dry guitar signal onto another track and send that back through the Stomp for a second take using a completely different preset. Hope this helps/makes sense.

[bug report] Fast preset changes leads to switches not working properly
datacommando replied to Klaim's topic in Helix
And you are surprised by this? Not entirely sure if this qualifies as a bug - or abuse. At least you only used one foot - two really would be overkill. -
Ahh! There it is! That’s the exact thing that needs to be changed, but on the OP’s screen shot that option isn’t available. Also, if you look at my screenshot of Native in GarageBand that “View” button is not shown. Weird. That’s what confused me, because it’s obvious in Logic Pro X, but no so obvious as to how to initiate the option to swap the view from “Controls” to “Editor”. It’s not an issue for me, because HX Native displays normally in GB, and I rarely use it as Logic is more my DAW of choice on the Mac - although, I do sometimes use GarageBand and AmpliTube on the iPad for jotting down quick ideas when I’m not in the studio. Must be a preferences thing to get that to show up? Thanks for the info.

Hi, I actually told myself that I should stop doing this - but - here ya go! Hold the left and middle switches down when powering on rebuilds the factory presets. All reset options for your reference. HX Stomp Button Combination Description All 3 Footswitches Clears all presets/IRs FS1+2 Resets presets and IRs FS 2+3 Factory restore (globals, presets, IRs Hope this helps/makes sense.

As Line 6 posted a notification at the top of this page in a bright orange banner, which reads: “MacOS 11 Compatibility with Line 6 Software” it goes on to explain - Currently, Line 6 software products are not compatible with macOS 11 Big Sur. Major PITA for those who didn’t bother to read it.

Hi, If you need to remove Helix Native the information to do this is on Page 6 of the Helix Native Pilot’s Guide. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a41143d65fb6bcb2ed8ca/application/pdf/Helix Native PilotGuide v3.00 - Rev N - English .pdf Also, much more useful information in there. Salut, Si vous devez supprimer Helix Native, les informations pour le faire se trouvent à la page 6 du Guide du pilote Helix Native. Hi, That’s an odd one, and I probably never considered it, as I have never felt the need to ever use a looper inside a DAW, because it’s simple enough to cycle a section in the DAW. Lot’s of other approaches to getting a loop effect going. A “greyed out” item on HX hardware usually means that there is not enough DSP available to load the block. Obviously, this should not be an issue in the HX Native software as you will only be limited by your computer’s processing power. It might be worth checking the “Hardware Compatibility” mode within the Helix Native preferences setting. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a41143d65fb6bcb2ed8ca/application/pdf/Helix Native PilotGuide v3.00 - Rev N - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense. EDIT: The LOOPER, along with the SEND/RETURN Blocks, are not a a feature of Helix Native! In fact, when checking the preferences file in Native, there is an option to "Remove non-functioning hardware blocks (e.g. Looper) when importing presets". I have only just now bothered to look this up, because as I noted earlier, I never felt the need to use a looper in a DAW, or send/return loops. Hope this clears up the issue.

Merry Christmas.
-
Oops, too late - they have all gone home and won’t be back till Monday, but what were you going to ask the people on the forum? Ho, Ho, Ho, have a cool Yule - I’m off to get drunk for a week!
-
Late on Christmas Eve is not the best time for this to happen, especially as it seems like this issue is one that will require a technician. You really need to raise a ticket with Customer Support for something like this, as the thread is 6 months old and nobody has posted a follow up. Line 6 will be open again on Monday. Hope this helps/makes sense - Good luck.

I’m going to guess that you used Firefox for the download from Line 6, and when it landed on your computer you decided to let Firefox open the .dmg installer? No, stop, don’t let Firefox decide - download HX Edit 3 and save the file to your hard drive then open it from there. If you downloaded the .dmg using Safari, then try flushing the cache from Safari and download again. EDIT: Also make sure that you have removed any older versions of HX Edit, because it is not unknown for people to accidentally open an “alias” to a previous version. Hope this helps/makes sense and if not please report back.
