Hi, You are still not being very specific about this. When seeking assistance from other users it's a big help to know EXACTLY which presets you are referring to and on what hardware. For example on my Helix floor unit Factory 1 Setlist starts with 01A US Double Nrm If you could clarify which particular presets are giving you problems, it will be easier if we know which ones to check. I'm a little concerned that you also say the presets are taking some time to load. That simply should not be happening. Scrolling through presets on my Helix, loads each preset in milliseconds - it's almost instantaneous. My best guess, without any further information, is that your hardware device needs a Factory Reset, this will put it back into a "box fresh" state. Check here for the various reset options for different Helix products. https://helixhelp.com/tips-and-guides/universal/reset-options Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, When seeking assistance from other users it’s a big help to know what computer and operating system you are using. One important thing to remember is HX Edit cannot connect to any HX hardware device that is in a “failed” state. I keep saying that I am going to stop doing this, but to save me from lots of typing - this is a cut ‘n’ paste from a while back. This is the usual “Fail Safe” solution provided by members of this forum. Follow this link, read it thoroughly, and follow the instructions given. Take Note: this installation technique described within was for an earlier version of the Firmware. Any references to version numbers should be the very latest available for the new 3.70 Firmware. The method for “Offline” updating is identical. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Interesting first post. Do you have any evidence to back your claim that “Line 6 is not fixing a bug like this one”. If you check the thread you will find in it a couple of posts from people who encountered this issue, raised a ticket with Customer Support, and mentioned this. “Line 6 have said they’re working on a fix but no idea how long that will take.” As you state that you “can’t believe” that it is not being looked into, maybe you could enlighten everyone concerned, exactly how long the MIDI Thru “bug squashing” should take. If you have any ideas as to what is needed to fix this, then possibly you could tell the Line 6 tech team how to solve this. Don’t let your programming genius go unnoticed! Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, I have to concur with @silverhead in the post above. I too, record the stereo fully processed audio from USB 1&2, along with a DI signal from USB7 from my Helix floor into Logic Pro. Using the exact same preset in HX Native to re-amp the dry signal has no discernible difference on the audio output. I could also play it back through the hardware - same result - no difference. I’m more inclined to think that this is how you are using you set up. In fact John Nathan Cordy made a video a few days back explaining why some people, including him, have issues with plug-ins. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Update requist: Set pre/post status per effect type
datacommando replied to sonnydinkelaar's topic in HX One
Hi, if you are requesting updates and/or improvements to any HX product, I must point out that there are no Line 6 staff here and only very occasionally do they visit these forums - (See the “sticky comment” in the black banner stripe at the top of this page entitled “Welcome to the Line 6 forums”). This link is where you need to go to have any hope of it been seen by anyone from Line 6: https://line6.ideascale.com/a/index Before posting any new ideas, please do a search to see if it's already been listed. Multiple requests for the same thing will thin out the votes. Also, post your ideas one at a time. Many users don’t vote for combined suggestions. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, Well the way approach this would possibly be, if you are using the Dream as the amp/cab part of this setup, then stick any dirt (overdrive, fuzz, compression) before the amp. Then usually your Delay, Reverb and any other time based effects after the amp/cab. It’s worth bearing in mind, that with any of this stuff, there are no rules - other than if it sounds good, then it is good. Patch the stuff together and experiment. I doubt anything will blow up. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, Surely this is covered in the HX One Owner’s Manual, page 10. ”Adding and editing effects is all well and good, but having presets with all your specific effect and other settings just a tap away can be a faster way to work! Your HX One comes loaded with numerous Factory Presets, which you can recall and use as they are, modify, or completely replace with your own creations (more about Saving presets in the next section). To access HX One’s 128 preset locations, enter Preset Mode.” Then it continues on page 11. Saving/Naming a Preset https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f12a29655656a3e05ee/application/pdf/HX One Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, From the HX One Owner’s Manual- page 10 https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f12a29655656a3e05ee/application/pdf/HX One Owner's Manual - English .pdf ”When you power off HX One, it restores your last bypass state and last-edited parameter changes on the next power up, provided that you wait 3 seconds or more after making changes before disconnecting the power.” Also, there is only one mention (on page 22 of the manual) about Momentary Switching which is achievable with an external footswitch. ”Expression pedal and footswitches are sold separately: The Line 6 EXP-1 pedal is a fine choice, or most 3rd party expression pedals will work as well. For single or dual external footswitches, you’ll want to get the “momentary” (non-latching) type.” Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, When seeking assistance from Forum users it's a really good idea to supply as much information as possible regarding your computer and operating system. Anyhow here is an official Line 6 video that explains how to update using a Mac - It is essentially the same for Windows. How to Update the Firmware is also detailed on Page 5 of the Helix Owner's Manual. https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense

Hi, Regarding the +3db function on the merge mixer. This is normal for the Helix line of products and is due to an audio "science" thing known as Pan Law. Here's some info from a while back. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Calm down, you may burst a blood vessel, and all for no reason at all. From the Release Notes on the download page:- Compatible OS: Mac OS X, macOS Sierra, macOS High Sierra, macOS Mojave, macOS Catalina, macOS Big Sur, macOS Monterey, macOS Ventura, macOS Sonoma Every other Mac user running Sonoma seems to have managed to download and installed Helix Native without issues. Go to the DOWNLOAD menu item at the top of this page, then on the next page, from under the “Choose Software” pop out menu select Helix Native. Then click on “Choose OS” and select “Mac OS X”, then hit the “Go” button. As if by magic - there it is! Read, study and inwardly digest the Release Notes - especially the bits marked “IMPORTANT!”. Nice first post - a great way to make friends. Hope this helps/makes sense. AND TURN OFF THE CAPS LOCK!

Helix HX Stomp XL - HX EDIT: TIMEOUT WAITING FOR DEVICE error 8212
datacommando replied to tacoma50's topic in Helix
Hi, This crops up every once in a while - just type 8212 into the search function on the main page of this forum and see how many hits it returns. IIRC, best guess is this is due to a corrupt preset. Here’s a link to one of those other posts from a while back. Hope this helps/makes sense.- 1 reply

New Helix Floor (two different units) - Hissing ONLY on 1/4" out / send
datacommando replied to bharrell91's topic in Helix
If, as we seem to suspect, this noise is a ground loop, then one solution that has been recommended several times by forum contributor @rd2rk is to use a hum eliminator, for example - Pyle PHE400 - $30 on Amazon. He says this works to silence both audio and USB hum. Maybe he will chime in to verify that. Hope this helps/makes sense. -
New Helix Floor (two different units) - Hissing ONLY on 1/4" out / send
datacommando replied to bharrell91's topic in Helix
Hi, If this is happening on two different brand new units, then my guess it’s not a Helix issue, but something else, possibly your electrical supply. Check out the suggestions from @theElevators in the post above. Maybe, if you could upload an audio clip of the “hiss” it may help in narrowing down the possible cause of the problem. -
Free Update to "The Big Book of Helix Tips and Tricks" Now Available
datacommando replied to craiganderton's topic in Helix
Hi, A couple of things. “Favorites” - The information regarding naming, arranging and deleting presets from the “Favourites” folder is covered in the Helix 3.0 Owner’s Manual - Rev F - page 18 For the same - while using HX Edit, click on the “Question Mark” icon in the lower left of the GUI window, and select “Pilot’s Guide”, which should open a pdf containing all you need to know about HX Edit - Favorites panel on page 20. Regarding the firmware update procedure - this is also documented in the HX Edit Pilot’s Guide > page 83 > Update & Additional Resources. Once again, this info is on page 5 of the Helix Owner’s Manual. Looks like all you needed to do was open the relevant documentation for your hardware, including control of the TAP Tempo LED flashing On/Off option in the Global settings. Just saying! https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a3f041b611d61cac763b/application/pdf/Helix 3.0 Owner's Manual - English .pdf https://line6.com/data/6/0a020a4167cd654eae06274c7/application/pdf/HX Edit Pilots Guide 3.70 - English .pdf Hope this helps/makes sense. -
Hi, While you are in Helix Native, click on the “Question Mark” icon in the lower left of the GUI window and select “Pilot’s Guide”. This should open a pdf of the manual (v.3.70) where you can find all the information about Preset Compatibility and loading/importing presets on page 14. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Nope! “Once someone mics said amp with two mics”, what you have is still a mono signal captured by two different mono microphones that can then either be processed as 2 separate audio paths to which stereo effects can be applied as required, or mixed and balanced into one signal ready for stereo processing. Therefore, as noted by @theElevators in the post above, no matter how you chose to run your signal through your digital boxes, all effects before the amplification stage should be MONO (these are generally distortion fx). Any processing after the amp(s)/speaker(s)/mic(s) would generally be modulation/time based STEREO fx blocks, which could also have a stereo LA compressor last in the chain. The final output to FOH, or whatever will be a stereo mix. You just need to patch it all together. Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, The file you uploaded is Helix setlist file, as you can tell by the file extension - .hls. An individual preset file should have the extension- .hlx Hope this helps/makes sense.

Hi, You do realise that, generally speaking, most guitar amplifiers are mono pieces of equipment? Yes? Your guitar has a single mono cable to connect it to the amplifier, either ITRW, or digital realm. You also have the option of using a Y-Splitter box to send the mono signal to two amplifiers, but everything prior to hitting either, or both, amps will be a mono signal. If you have the digital amp model signal from the Neural Quad entering the HX Stomp mono Return socket, then any processing after it hits the HXS can be stereo FX blocks and will then leave the Stomp outputs in stereo, or can be collapsed to mono by sending from the Left 1/4” Output Socket only. Hope this helps/makes sense

Hi, Forum contributor @craiganderton has just updated his e-publication - “The Big Book of Helix Tips & Tricks 1.4” which has a whole chapter dedicated to Poly Block Techniques. I don’t want to directly lift information provided in Chapter 4, but Craig does suggest that the poly option is better suited to strumming and chord work, and simple pitch is better for single-notes. My guess is that you might need to work on your technique, as it appears what you are describing is sympathetic vibration from undamped strings “causing confusion”. You may wish to purchase a copy of “The Big Book of Helix Tips & Tricks 1.4”- available from Sweetwater. https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/AndertonHX-e--sweetwater-publishing-the-big-book-of-helix-tips-and-tricks Hope this helps/makes sense.
