  1. Why can't you? Just shove your favorites into a preset - or into a bunch of presets - and save them???
  2. It's a great idea to have the Helix's Looper footswitches perform other functions. But unless I need my reading glasses, the way you phrased this, it sounds like you can hit the "Mode" switch to get to the Looper. Mine doesn't work like that - I have to manually assign a footswitch to the Looper. Is this something only on the rack version or have I misconstrued?
  3. What a great idea! I set mine up last night and have been having a blast with it. It's true though - the Helix footswitches become precious real estate when using them for Loopy and for effects.
  4. I'm daft (too), I guess. The same thing happened to me months ago when I first tried it. The way the sends and returns are aligned, you have a 50/50 chance of plugging into the wrong ones, if you have bad eyes.

    Helix vs AX-8

P.S. I really like this forum. The people here (with notable exception) are helpful, generous and nurturing to the newcomers. I've learned so much here. I take exception to anyone who comes in here and fouls the water.

    Helix vs AX-8

Here's a little thought exercise: Read this post to a normal human - one who has no idea what a Helix or an AX8 is. One who doesn't know anything about guitars. But one who's literate and knows proper English, unlike OP with his multitude of gratuitous apostrophes, grammar errors and cliches. Who's laughing now? I can't remember when I've seen such a pathetic post on a public board. Thoroughly nasty, unwarranted, largely untrue, poorly written and execrable. I salute you, OP. You're my kind of guy! Still laughing...
  7. The Auto-Volume Delay like on the M5, M9, M13. I bought the Helix despite its not having the auto-volume delay. If it should magically appear in my Helix one day, well, that would be so great.
  8. Mike - are you, perchance, using a Western Digital drive for your time machine? There is a big problem with WD drives and El Capitan. I replaced two of my external WD hard drives with different manufacturers' and everything works swimmingly now. You can read about it on the Apple forum.
  9. The "Dual Delay" (which is not in the manual - it was added in a subsequent firmware upgrade)... should do what you want. It has: Left time, Right time Left feedback, Right feedback Left mix, right mix. There are other ways to accomplish what you want. The Helix is amazingly flexible and gets better with each upgrade.
  10. Wow. It's none of my business but I think you're being unnecessarily rude. Phil is a tremendous resource for this board and, since he doesn't work for Line 6, he owes you no answers. And, if I recall, Digital Igloo said that that last firmware update was SOLELY to integrate the improvements to the editor.
  11. This is a good point. Those of us who got the Helix before the editor came out are akin to people who learned how to do math before the advent of calculators. It's important to be fluent in editing on the Helix for those awkward moments when you don't have a computer handy.
  12. I use the pedal - among other things - to increase or decrease the GAIN on the Vermin Distortion (RAT). I have it set to go from some gain (4.5) to full gain (10). It makes a note feed back beautifully and gradually. Combined with the ability to EDIT any parameter anywhere with the footpedal, I think the footpedal is one of the major features of the Helix. I strongly suggest you not cut it off. You'll probably void your warranty and possibly hurt yourself.
  13. He asked to borrow your Helix???? I've been told that the proper response to such a question is "sure...may I sleep with your wife?" OP - get the Helix. Thank me later. And don't lend it to anyone!
  14. Yeah, that worked for me, very nicely. The combination of installing the Mac driver and using a USB 2.0 hub solved my problems, at least for now.
  15. Hi Commando: I was referring to the intermittent disconnections we've all experienced between an El Capitan Mac and the Helix when using USB. Two things solved it for me: 1. Installing Line 6's Mac driver and 2. Using a USB 2.0 hub between the Mac and the Helix (someone here suggested this...Hamm?). I haven't lost connection since and the editor is well-worth working this all out. And it's really fun using Logic X with Helix! As to your well-documented MIDI/USB problems, I have no idea. Sorry.
  16. Oh yeah - have you installed the Mac driver? http://line6.com/support/topic/19809-helix-mac-driver-100-public-beta-now-available/
  17. Turn on Helix, plug USB into Mac. Fire up Logic X. You have to set Preferences/Audio/Output Device and /Input Device to "Line 6 Helix" in Logic X. If you don't see "Line 6 Helix" as an option, you've got other problems. But, if all's working well, the Helix becomes your OUTPUT device so make sure you've got speakers or something hooked up to the Helix. There are some irregularities between the Helix and the Mac if you've got El Capitan and are connected via USB. There are work-arounds. Check back here if the above doesn't work.
  18. Your guitar setup's not bad either.
  19. You are a great representative! Your contributions to this forum are unfailingly informative and otherworldly even-tempered.
  20. Very cool article. Any chance of your uploading that Showman Vibrato patch for those of us too lazy to set it up ourselves?
  21. Mine's been working perfectly ever since I started using a USB 2.0 hub! In fact, it's a lot more convenient, space-wise, than plugging into the back of my iMac. And the editor is so handy and glorious!!!
  22. When you bite down on it, does it switch to chewing mode or remain in gastric bypass? Have you rebooted? Are you on the latest operating system? Are you aware that with El Capitan 10.11.4, your lips sometimes lose communication with your gums? I would open a ticket. No one here's going to help you.
  23. Hey. That worked! Excellent! Time will tell. The Helix/Mac USB thing has been intermittent for me.
