  1. It definitely makes sense if you have a bunch of other stuff hooked up. With me it just the Helix and my wireless. It takes me 2 minutes. I am going to start using an external expression but it shouldn't add more time.. I wouldn't want the weight of it all in another board I am getting old
  2. I am just fine with a lot of the built in stuff.. Just listen to Glenn DeLaunes stuff! All stock and sound great.. I haveca couple irs I use for 60s Marshall Cabs and a Cox with Blues.. But I also love some of the built ins
  3. I love surf. I have been trying to get a patch I like for it. I have come close with the various fender amps but not quite getting what I want. I use spring reverb obviously . The best I have had was also using the simple delay always on for a real slight slap . I have been so close but not quite there. Any ideas? This should be simple. Everything else I wanted to do happened real quick.
  4. I feel effects and AMPS are vastly improved. It just takes tweaking and time. And coup,e irs I bought are incredible.
  5. I get that.. I use a wireless and an expression pedal as well. If I were doing frequent gigs I can see where having that pre wired would help. Lime I said, I think the back pack is a generational thing. It isn't just with gear, I don't get pack packs period except for the army and camping.
  6. I am new to iOS so some of my questions are similar. GarageBand is a fine starter though I think someone said you can't reamp on it. On my IPad Air I got Auria Pro. It was a fairly inexpensive option with a decent amount of ad dons that can be purchased if you need them. I want an iPad pro for the extra horsepower but for the price I could probably get a decent Windows laptop with daw software that would work better
  7. I am not totally understanding why people are putting the Helix on another board. It's like putting a board on a board. Maybe I am just missing the application.
  8. I have a Mission exp but so far I have not taken it live. As I get more into using it for way and other effects I am sure it would easily n the Mono Side zipper. I haven't tried to see if it would fit along side in the main compartment but it might. I should add that the Helix Backpack looks nice but it doesn't look anywhere near the construction of the mono bag. That isn't actually a knock against it. Mono is sort of the extra tough bag company but you pay for it also.

  10. Ok.. Thanks. I understand. It has been awhile since I have done something like this. I will figure it out tonight.. The combination of being a new iOS user (former android only and Windows) and a different forum format are taking me a bit to get used to.
  11. I was going to post a photo for you but I realized I have no idea how on this forum.
  12. I understand man. I saw the design and it looks cool enough. I hope to see lots of pictures on here. I just wonder about the overall build. I bought a Boss bag for my old X3 because it was much better quality than the line 6 offering at the time. In the past I found their bags and such a little lacking but this does look nice at a glance. I will not wear anything on my back though. I will make two trips to,the vehicle first. I can't imagine trying to,walk around with two full arms and something on my back. Just a personal thing. Heck, I knock stuff around with my guitar in one arm and the Helix bag hanging on my other shoulder. And I was basically a roadie from 1983 to 1990...lol
  13. I ended up selling it pretty cheap. The guy that got it enjoyed it. It seemed better after the latest firmware up date, or maybe I just never recreated the instance, but I was never real happy with it. As a straight up Strat type of guitar it was decent and it felt nice. But I guess I still don't like guitar modeling even though I love the Helix and find it amazing. I just didn't think any of the settings were great. It was, if you will, pardon the over used reference, truly like a Swiss Army knife. It did had tons of features but none of them sounded great to,my ears. They were just ok at best . I was real disappointed with the acoustic sounds. I had a Roland/Fender VG Strat that sounded pretty nice with acoustic tones. This never approached its level. Everyone has their own tastes though. I freely admit that I have heard some great sounding recordings with Variax guitars so many make them work.
  14. I will be curious to see pictures of people's Helix loaded in the backpack and some close up pictures of the construction.
  15. I bought a padded slip cover for mine since I get a lot of dog hair here.. From Studio Slips. I actually put it on the Helix in the bag. It takes up extra space and adds more padding.. I thought it was fine without it but it took up the space. Next time I pack it up I will try to remember to take a picture.
  16. I guess my age is showing but I don't understand why people would want to carry this heavy thing on their back. 😀 I think it's a generational thing. My son said he would get one when he gets his Helix. I will stick to my heavy duty mono bag... To each their own. 😀 I watched a kid walk into my friends guitar shop with a backpack gig bag on. He snapped the head stock off of his Strat as he walked through the door casing.
  17. Also, if you have the opportunity, look at some of Glenn Delaunes patches. I realize they are not free but he has some good use of amps and seems to get a lot more out of dsp than I do
  18. To add a little I too have had much more than this following the templates. If you you third party IRs I have noticed they will eat up your DSP in a heart beat if you use more than one in a patch.. Stock it's are much more efficient, though I may be using real high quality irrs
  19. Is it saving the proper file name extension?
  20. One of my favorite guitarists is Lindsey Buckingham. No one ever does artist sets of him. Sort of a shame.
  21. I have the L6 EP1 in black. It is an outstanding pedal and works fantastic. Very well built and smooth.
  22. I have used Sweetwaters warranty with other products. They are good to their word. They will get it repaired or replaced for you.
  23. Pretty much my thoughts as well. We have an HD400 at church. The congregation always thought it sounded nice but I was constantly tweaking and just never could get what I would call a great tone. When I brought in the Helix that all changed. When we have two electrics one is the HD400 and no one wants to use it now. I can get stuff that sounds ok with the HD400 unless I compare it to the Helix. Then suddenly it doesn't sound as good.
