  1. The Taylor 314 IR also sounds amazing with the piezo pickup in my EBMM Majesty.
  2. Mine was doing that for a while but it seems to have gotten over it. I would roll the volume all the way off and put the guitar on a stand. Within a couple minutes the guitar volume would go to full on. I'd pick it up and roll the volume knob up and back down and it would seem normal for another few minutes before it would do it again. I have not made any changes to the firmware since but I haven't had it happen in a long time. I'm always connected via VDI to a HD500X. I'll experiment with it tonight and see if it will reproduce the problem while connected to my Helix.
  3. Have you tried creating your own? I'm pretty impressed with just the Twin Reverb model all by itself, with the stock settings, in a patch. I think it sounds really authentic as I spent a few hours playing a real one this weekend.
  4. Very nice job man!!! I really like them. I played with the 4 you posted above for about an hour last night with several different guitars and patches.
  5. Hi, Question 1: the patch name shows up at the top left of the color display. The scribble strips, by default, will show the name of the effect that particular footswitch is controlling. You can customize it to say anything you like. For example, you might set up a footswitch to increase the gain on the amp, turn on a distortion pedal and turn on an eq. You could customize the scribble strip for that footswitch to say something like "high gain". Question 2: If items are greyed out in the list, you have run out of DSP on that path. Keep in mind that each of the 2 paths have their own DSP. What you could do is have the output block for path 1 go into path 2 and continue adding more blocks. Question 3: I don't have the rack unit but from what I understand you can get an expression pedal with a toe switch. The built in pedal on the floor unit has a toe switch already. Edit: Looks like phil_m beat me to it.
  6. Go into the menu and select Footswitch Assign. Use the joystick to go to the block you want to un-assign from the footswitch and rotate knob 1 below the screen until it says none.
  7. I've yet to see anyone post who has one in their possession. I think they're expected to be available towards the end of the month as the boat is almost here (or possibly has just recently arrived in port). Line 6 posted on the TGP forum that they were "12 days out". The post is dated April 29th.
  8. The gallery is very useful for making sure you get one that looks good. I've purchased a couple of 'dent and scratch' guitars from Sweetwater. I never did figure out what they thought the flaws were but I can't find anything wrong with either of them.
  9. Helix should work great with your setup. You have several options: Straight into the front of the amp (basically using Helix like a pedal board as stephane_dupont describes above) Straight into the fx return on the AC30 (using Helix for fx and the preamp and your AC30 poweramp and cabinet) 4-cable method (this is my favorite as it gives you the ability to do both 1 and 2) I like to run a couple of my amps in 4-cable method and send the XLR outputs from Helix to my PA. It sounds amazing. One thing I recommend is looking in the Global Settings and making sure you're 1/4" out is set to instrument if you're just going into the front of the amp.
  10. On my Helix the BYPASS button has to be pressed significantly harder than any of the others. Might be worth a shot.
  11. I've used it a couple of times and it is nice. So far, I prefer editing on the unit but I'll take a closer look when the additional functionality is added.
  12. My guess is both of you had Snarks. I'm just kidding. Most of the time I'm good to go after using the tuner. But occasionally, I'll notice something isn't quite right and I'll check it against a Snark, or Polytune, or even by ear and a couple of the strings will be 'just' off a bit. Enough to notice in a band setting? Probably not.
  13. I run my JTV-69 into Helix via the VDI cable. I run Helix to my DT25 via L6 Link. I run Helix to my PA speakers via XLR (although 1/4" would work). I run Helix to my Peavey 6505 MH amp in 4-cable method. I run a BeatBuddy into a Helix effects return and out to the PA as well. I do all of these things within the same patch and can send just about anything anywhere. I send acoustic sounds to the PA. I also send effects like delays and reverbs to the PA. I send clean electric sounds to the DT25 and sometimes the PA as well. High gain sounds go to the DT25 and the 6505 with the effects going to the PA. It's as much fun to put a patch like this together as it is to actually play it.
  14. I have. I really enjoy, and have purchased, the Orange pack.
  15. Glad you liked it. From what I can tell, the number of effects between the Pod HD Pro X and Helix are similar. The HD Pro X had "over 100" and the Helix shipped with 91 and they've already added some more (with more on the way).
  16. Ok, got it now. It will work great that way. I run it straight into Reaper some times. You can go into your Apollo or just straight into your computer using the USB cable, since Helix has 8 in / 8 out USB channels.
  17. It's not quite that simple. Yours was produced in 2013 but the rest is some kind of code that remains a mystery. They're new until they're sold. Sweetwater has a few of the various JTV's in stock, some made in 2014 and even one that's a 2012 model. The battery should be fine. I haven't seen any posts about any that were sub-par.
  18. Just in case you aren't aware, they added a Timmy model to Helix recently. I'm not sure what "front-end and no speakers from an amp means" though.
  19. All the answers you're looking for are right here on page 3: http://www.ownhammer.com/support/docs/v4/412-MES-ST_V60.pdf I think the Quick Start folder is where I'd begin my journey.
  20. If your cable is labeled, with one of the mono jacks being tip and one being ring, you should insert the one labeled ring to the fx send (or 1/4 out) on the Helix. I looked at the Bud amp on the Henriksen Amplifiers website and it shows that 'ring' is for the return and 'tip' is for the send. So if, on your amp, ring is for return, then on the Helix end ring would be what you want to plug in.
  21. While I'm sure that the Helix tuner itself is very accurate, I have to agree that there's something about the display that's not helping. I can tune up with my Polytune 2 or Snark and then double check it with the Helix tuner and everything will be in the green. If I tune up with the Helix tuner and then check it with the others, and my ears, it can be a little off.
  22. I'm using the EP1-L6 with no problems.
  23. One goes into the Helix fx send and one into the return (ex. fx 1 send and fx 1 return). If it doesn't work at first, try reversing them.
  24. It looks like you just need a cable that's TRS on one end and splits to two TS jacks on the other. I used to have to go that route with my Vetta II and I still use one of those cables when I want to run my EBMM Majesty into Helix in Stereo.
