  1. Can the "buffered" out of the helix rack work for the firehawk 1500 guitar input, rather than use a dry send from helix? Will I be missing some amp tone from helix if I do this, or does that even matter this way? Confused on why the send versus the buffered output - unless it's because the floor unit doesn't have a buffered output ?
  2. My point was not that Im bothered, but to play thru what you want to play thru. Endorsements are what they are, and like opinions they vary. Don't run yer tone, playing or yer life TOTALLY on the "endorsements" of others and thus be another lemming running off the cliff behind the others, so to speak...
  3. Of course it did. Everyone should know by now that setting up tones on headphones won't work (tone wise) at the practice house outta the bag...It just won't. ;)
  4. Luddites beware- Being facetious I was :P .... As far as I'm concerned It "is" the best way to tweak Helix. Reaching for the mouse lasts a couple of seconds, doesn't in the least destroy creativity (unless you are so easily distracted anyway) and its an operation that is not indefinite nor is it a "really crappy experience" by any stretch of the imagination. You have to "sync" your vision on everything else, driving, reading, eyes on path, being facetious on forums, etc. and its not an issue either, at least for me. Of course we can make the excuse that "something" has taken us away from just playing I guess. Welcome to the 21st century. Interaction happens, get over it and join the living I say. You grab a mouse for everything else on the puter and I dunno but Im kinda sure we don't say when doing a spreadsheet, or clicking on emails, or pictures, or a thousand other things on our computer, gee this is mouse clicking is so crappy... LOL... What a hoot...And last but not least, the "quote" I was being cute about was 2 months ago or longer when Fractal had an editor for their product, and Line 6 didn't yet, so excuses were made Im thinking as to why an editor was so "awful". That statement back then, compared to now its out and seeing how just about EVERYONE loves the editor (and rightfully so), is what I find hilarious! Depends on what side of the fence yer on at the time, doesn't it...
  5. Who gives a flying fish ? It's whether "you"want to use Helix or not. Or an Axe FX or not. Or a KPA or not. Tell every one else to go eat big fat fried flounders & fries on Friday...
  6. Idk about this editor stuff, read somewhere when putting down your guitar pick and picking up a mouse is a really crappy experience, and completely destroys one's creative flow ... Lol..
  7. Did it say.... Your mission Rudomat, should you decide to accept it,... As always, should you or any of your I.M. Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This tape/disc will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Rudo. ? :D
  8. One thing I noticed- your Deluxe Reverb amp has IIRC a 12 " speaker with no tweeter or horn. You have adjusted Helix to this amp, with full amp and speaker IRs on. The PA- 415-A is a 15" speaker with a compression driver, and crossover is at 1800 hz. I would expect them to sound different. Now if you were using an FRFR setup like the Firehawk 1500, and this sounded WAY different than your PA, something might be amiss.
  9. Ok done, soon as I see heel down wah off for Mission pedals... -_- :D
  10. Well not really free..., You needed to buy a Helix to use it ;) :D
  11. Using a keyboard and listening to what Im playing while hitting the keys in Cubase, I can start to hear latency around 10 ms. At 20 ms it becomes almost impossible to play at any speed remotely fast. My question is, at what speed (in MS) does the latency need to be to switch between presets without too much time in between? Be realistic and reasonable please. Oh yes, and of those products out there that have two Sharc processors you mentioned, are any of them very new, or have a "big brother" to compare with firmware wise?
  12. TYVM for your trouble and effort!
  13. Exactly what I thought when I read this. I'm sure something like this may happen, but i already own a FH1500 and plan for Helix to play thru it. BTW the Firehawk 1500 is awesome sounding on its own without Helix.
  14. Most good designers build in room (Memory) for later expansions. To suggest that there is no room for future expansion is hard for me to believe, and I would think rather It could be that software wise things in Helix are not the best they can be yet. That things are running slower, using more memory and not optimized firmware wise as best it can be..., yet. Of course I could just be making excuses and blowing rings of smoke out my arsh too. But given Helix is R E A L new and most of us that ordered don't even have the Rack unit yet, Im thinking it just needs some more love time optimization from the L6 software gurus.. Per the Manual on page 19... Amp+Cab, Amp, or Preamp blocks Any combination, up to four (two per path) Cab blocks (includes Amp+Cab blocks) Up to four (two per path; Cab > Dual blocks are considered two) Impulse Response blocks Up to four 1024-point IRs (two per path) or two 2048-point IRs (one per path) From what Im reading, I think the "any combination" part might be a little misleading memory wise however I don't know ANYTHING yet. Until I get to play with mine some its pure speculation on my part.
  15. I knows it easy to overlook, and I haven't used the editor yet myself, but please remember why its called a "beta" editor. ;) Im pretty sure updates are forthcoming.
  16. Yea I see where the latest of EL C has solved lots of issues. Thanks for the clarification. :)
  17. Too bad you gotta run a 3 year old OS to make it stable, or is that not the reason? Im not sure why you haven't upgraded the OS yet but I know you have your reasons.
  18. One point of it is so that any amp and cab IR combination wouldn't sound like dung, thru a colored sounding guitar cabinet . So that a Fender would sound "Fenderish", and a Marshall would sound like, well you know, without actually owning a Fender, or a Marshall.
  19. Even when expecting something soon, I never knew exactly when it would drop at Fractal Audio, or Kemper. Ive never known when Line-6 was gonna drop an update either. Im just happy when it arrives :)
  20. Are you running the Latest Version of El Capitan ? Its been said this makes a difference.
