Are you trying to tell me that I can't real time edit tones on Helix when I have the editor pulled up and playing thru Helix???? If so, just what kind of POS editor is this ? I hope to GOD you are incorrect about this Hamm.

Pardon- Cabs for Fractal, but many many amps for Kemper. In fact the Kemper amp tones are one of the reasons why I sold my Axe FX II a while back. Kemper tones IMO are just to die for!

Never fear Hamm. 98% of the time when Fractal updated the firmware I always thought (and I was not alone by a mile) the tones got better, not worse.

Why? I ran Cubase and Pro Tools all the time on one screen while I had the Fractal Editor (and or Rig manager) on the right side with NO issues. If its done right theres no issue Hamm. Of course, that was on a Mac, so on the PC you might be correct. ;)

Or, make (as others have already suggested) a dumb Firehawk 1500 like add-on (or something less perhaps) specifically designed for Helix. I know it was said that the cost difference between not having effects and amps in the FH 1500 versus having them was minimal, but in a year or two that might change. Also, (as Zooey said too) add the ability to install L6 & 3rd party Amps and Cabs like Fractal and Kemper has done. This means there will be no shortage of tones for years to come. So even if it's not supported after 4 or 5 years there will be other add-ons available for Helix to stay fresh longer.

Save them, and reload them Hamm. Unless something was way off to begin with nothing tone raise should change much...

It'l be easier on the rack guys too, not having to leave their DAW screens for the hardware as much.

Don't have my Helix yet, but I believe there is a setting for using mag pups. Look for it under the Variax settings.

Being new at this, I would start with one amp, one IR, and reverb. Make a few, keep the ones you like. Then add from there. A better option than the 4 cable method will cost you, but just love my Firehawk 1500 and plan on running Helix in to that.

Running a UA Apollo on a iMac here, and I plan on using Mackie 824's for the studio monitors, and then a Firehawk 1500 with Helix in stand alone or stage use. BTW- I think the Firehawk 1500 is just an awesome combo/FRFR amp guys!

Guess I'm just simple (yea I admit it) minded but OK, if the manufacturer won't let the retailer come off a certain consumer price then why sell it for them? Unless the retailer (of course) wants to make a profit too, and jacked up (in most cases doubled or even tripled) the manufactures price tag. Hey nothing wrong with profits, but don't try and tell me they don't discuss this amount between them selves. If not, then they are awfully good guessers at what the other has marked an item for. And if that is indeed the case, then its not the manufactures fault at all for the consumer prices to be the same marked up amount at multiple retailers. In fact once they are paid, why should the manufacturer even care what the retailer does? Which then leads me back to the 5 year old items being the same cost at the two major retailers. Loss of profits is relative to the end of year sales bonus check I'm now thinking, which is more likely the reason why they are all the same price. Now then, let the gov in on this and force internet taxes for all of us so that the local Guitar Center can now compete with SW and MF. No more need for competition cause we fixed it! The exact same sized Little pink houses for you and me comrade. ;)

The Vetta and Vetta II were "Flagship" Products from Line 6. They were eventually left as is, and in not updated or added to. Same thing happens to most products over time, for companies trying to stay productive and make a profit. My point is, don't worry about it. The Helix will at some point, just like the Vetta, be left behind for a better, faster kewler, one horse pony. Until then, enjoy the Helix as I will. :D

Yea I can see the reasons why discounts are not available for new products. What I can't see is why hundreds of others are the same price when they are not so new. For instance, the "TC Helicon Voice Live play", which was 1st available on Amazon in November 2011, is the same price at the two major retailers. To the freeking penny. See below... MF SW That was about 5 years ago Hamm. This is not a new product. There are "LOTS" of products like this one example. Why are they the same price Hamm? Tell me again about this having nothing to do with collusion or price fixing?

Of course sales guys lie Hamm, I assume thats what yer saying isn't it?. But No- I asked twice on two different days with two different salesmen from the same place. There were either told this from the manufacturer as they stated, or they were told by their boss not to deal on Helix stuff, period. I think Bosses do that too... I can't say which as I only know what was said by both. Either way, I still think it strange that hundreds of "other" items from many different manufacturers are the same price at two different companies hundreds if not thousands of miles apart, only because they want to, and not because they have to price things that way. B) Am I the only one that thinks this Isn't a bit too odd and too coincidental ? Next you'll be telling me their from the Government and here to help. lol... :D

Ok thanks Phil... So if it is what you say, and they can set there own prices (even if they can't advertise it), then its worth the time to always call for a better price. OTOH I know for a fact that Helix was not discounted with Musicians Friend, because they told me it was the Manufacturer that would not let them take a percentage off. Now was that lets say, fib ? Just because Helix was selling well? And they were the same price at SW too. Hunmmmm... Ah so much for competition... Hy its all about money- so be it I like money too ;) Oh and one more thing. MF and SW couldn't care less about the local small music business stores in my town or any other, and they are sure not gonna raise their prices to be fair and match theirs + tax... Thats also life...

Ok so the Retailers are "mandated by law" to sell the product for the same price? Is that right? Or is it that they do have a choice and they decide on what their price will be? Which is it? And since when did places like Walmart care about small mom and pop stores?

Where on Earth did you come up with this idea? From what Ive read people are getting KILLER tones with Helix and the DT amps...

These are made for the floor units only, right? I know in a rack you wouldn't need the same protection, but still...

I thought for a second you meant Helix now had tone matching algorithm software added like the AXE FX II has.... :o Sry.... But soon as I get Helix in ill try too!

Please explain to me how there is competition between retailers Hamm, when they all have the same price on the same item?
