  1. Hi all, im playing with the FH1500 iPad editor, but was there going to be a Mac edit as well? Or did I just miss this item? BTW the iPad editor is good, I just wanted to use it with my DAW on the 2nd screen.
  2. A small 5 or 6 channel board would set you back maybe a bill, new...
  3. When you run Line-6 Updater, does this program see Helix?

    Helix Vs. AX8

Thanks for the comparisons and write up! +1
  5. Or even http://www.sweetwater.com/images/items/750/HelixRack-large.jpg
  6. Thats another reason why they also say, don't quit yer day job.... ;)
  7. A sturdy music stand perhaps? Or maybe http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/Autolocator?adpos=1o1&creative=55674776881&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&gclid=Cj0KEQjwzq63BRCrtIuGjImRoIIBEiQAGLHdYW8dSsYxSMali5feO8JhoKzSn8CMOMrsyiUARpsXotQaAg0r8P8HAQ
  8. I used that analogy to state that good tone costs money, and if you were willing to skip good tone for cheap a price you really weren't interested in good tone to begin with. I stand by that analogy. In other words, you get what you pay for in most cases.... Would you put cheap knockoff strings on your Lespaul Custom ? If there was an option to put cheap A to D converters in Helix to save you a hundred bucks, would you want that? Really? I for one believe the tone of my guitar is worth the extra $. As always YMMV...
  9. Fair enough. Your right, I don't think you spent enough time but as always, YMMV. Good luck on your next adventure then. :)
  10. Scott, Once again, you didn't mention how long you had it? I ask because Im wondering if you had it long enough to know anything about what it can or can't do, thus causing some to think that it just isn't worth the effort... And if cost was the only issue (which you said you would have kept it if it was cheaper?) , then it wasn't a "tone" issue was it?. Thats what I was trying to clarify here. I wasn't trying to be rude to you. Blunt maybe, but not rude. ;)
  11. I think that at least for right now, the Firehawk 1500 is a hit outta the park, esp since you "can" pair it with Helix. So in that regard I don't believe we will be left behind software and firmware wise.
  12. "I'll bet money delay spillover is coming to Helix about the same time it comes to Axe FX. It requires an entirely new architecture." OK so since I don't have my Helix yet (they are still building and packaging it) let me ask some of you to do a simple test. Take 2 patches. Make them identical except for naming. Then switch between them while playing. Is there enough lag in general to cause concern? Then add a delay to "one" of the patches. Did the switching lag increase enough to hear the difference between the 1st test, and this one? I ask this just to give us and Line 6 more information to work with, rather than just scream "its broke"... ;)
  13. If the Dodge Viper cost me 2,000.00 id probably keep it, running or not... And thats not a valid point for keeping something that doesn't work good for me either. What I am wondering is just how long did you play with Helix? You generalized that every patch sounded muddy- is this correct? Because sometimes it takes time to construct good tones to suite "you". We are all different, we all hear differently, and from one day to the next we like certain things one way and then change its sound tomorrow. I do this all the time on my KPA, and thats normal. Expect to spend time on a passion, or it isn't one. So how long did you have Helix? 2 weeks? A month? 2 months? I don't think you did yourself or Helix justice if thats the case. Hey its your decision as always to keep or return stuff, but blaming this muddy tone you heard on its costs, and how it could be overlooked by a cheaper price, means to me you were not serious about tone in the 1st place.
  14. Just gimme "Heel down wah off" settings on my mission pedals. Thats all I want... Edited- see below lol.....
  15. The audience at 1 am in the morning may not be able to tell the difference between a sac of dung banging off a tin building as long as it carries a beat. So In regards to both boxes making noise, that is where most of the similarity ends as far as a comparisons in tone. I do agree with you that Helix sounds good. Better than everything they have released in most cases so far IMO, by miles. So to the OP, yes I think you will hear and feel the difference.
  16. red, why didnt you use the buffered guitar out from the Helix into the guitar in on the FH? Was it because you didnt want to use any of the FH's amps or effects? Did it overload the instrument jack on the FH? Also, what setting/patch on the Firehawk 1500 did you use for bypassing all of its stuff? Also thanks to the Colonel and to ArneLine6!
  17. I haven't read the whole thing so plz forgive, but the Axe FX II had something called "scenes" that had 5 or 6 different settings/stomps/FX's you could use in the same patch, and IIRC it switched between them pretty fast.
  18. Good analogy. X3 toothpick, Helix Redwood forest...
  19. When I set to floor via my iPad, and then change the patch and return back to it, the setting changed back to wall from floor. Anyone else see that happening?
