Without an Oscope capture, you won't be able to detect 1 ms of latency. A normal human ear can not perceive that even in the best of situations. We are not talking 1 mile distance away from the speaker here. As normal a few feet away you won't hear 1 ms of latency unless of course, you have spidey senses or a big S on yer shirt...

Sorry I thought I read Majesty, not Axis. That's where the electronics stuff came from. Yea doesn't like a power issue after re-reading. When you say its not the cables, then you have taken the ends apart and verified nothing is lose or touching where they should not when bent, correct??
-
Will another guitar (without all the electronics added) cause this issue as well? Elimination is the key to finding the source of the pops and such. FYI about power noise, I've seen step-down transformers in the alley 3 houses down causing noise in audio electronics... Just saying that it could be coming for anywhere including Helix itself.

Humm. I believe there's a bit of discrepancy here... ;)
-
No that's not due out till next May... ;)

To my knowledge, there is no audio latency to speak of within Helix audio output itself. When I hit the string I hear the note just as I do on my other amps. I've used the 4 cable method as well with no noticeable latency, and I would know because I also play midi keys and software synths so I am very aware of 10ms and lower timing issues. My question is were you listening to yourself thru some kind of DAW, or from the speaker itself?

The better the equipment the better you will sound. Just like the better the guitar the longer you will play it versus a cheap guitar that hurts your fingers when you try to play it. That said, there are some good alternatives out there that may not be "the best", but still sound very good. Remember, you only have to please you... Search the forums to get an idea on what is used with Helix, and go from there. I can tell you that Helix sounds great to most of us here, so the odds are aginst this issue being a Helix problem. Hope this helps you decide.

Dirty power? Fluorescent lamp ballast going out?
-
That may not be the problem and I'm sure its able to run the Helix Editor. People drive 16-year-old cars (I do) because its paid for, and not because it runs like a new one. That said, I disagree with you on Windows 7 being the best possible PC audio platform available. There are tangible performance boosts to be had versus Win 7- faster boot time, better hardware acceleration and better memory use. Windows 10 has lots of under-the-hood tune-ups that can boost your PC's overall speed and performance (especially compared to Win7 on identical hardware). PLUS- the WDM Latency has really dropped off! See http://pcaudiolabs.com/windows-10-for-pro-audio/ for details... Back to the OP problem, it sounds like a USB driver issue. Are all the motherboard hardware drivers updated for Windows 7?
-
Well, it may have been just a glitch, as other patches seem to work ok as far as copying and pasting. I can not duplicate the issue I was having, so if anyone runs into this just remove a block in that patch and then try to paste it back i guess. That's what seems to work.
-
So why are you holding off?
-
Reboot the puter? Oh, and Windows 7 was released in July of 2009. I know it worked before, but the OS is 8 years old now... :) Just saying at some point you might think about updating the OS if you need your stuff to stay up and running.

Thanks for the reply... This is really strange. I deleted the compressor and then it let me paste the wah block in like I wanted. And I could then reload a compressor. It was grayed out before I tried that. Weird...

YOU DO AND YOU WILL CLEAN IT UP MISTER! :P

Anyone else on Ver 2.20 having issues with copying and pasting blocks? I'm trying to copy a wah block from one preset to another, and when I try and paste it, it's grayed out...

Good question and nice tone. Same for around 5:20. there's just a mojo tone thing going on there as well.

TY for the efforts!

It does seem that the tuner is less jumpy. Need to play with it some more to be sure...

Yea I know we just got a major patch handed to us for free. Well free if you own Helix ;) ... Much appreciated. That said, yes we have IR work arounds. That not what we need. What we need is the firmware to recognize where the IR is per slot and then recall it back to that same slot (provided it's in the proper folder for the software to find it) after an upgrade. I'm sure that's not an easy task to do (because it would have already been done if it was) but here's wishing for that someday too.

Mine also rebuilt presets twice, but after that it seems ok.

Oh God that sounds like my luck... Hope it turns out ok Jim.

Thinking out loud... I bought a Bogner La Grange pedal because nothing in Helix to my ears even comes close. I have it run thru aux 1 and with Helix its just killer! Yes I love the overdrives and distortions in Helix but the LaGrange pedal has to me, better sounding Marshall plexi tones. And, the same goes with a certain tone-mojo with the GrandMeister Deluxe 40. It rears its nasty head (in a good way) with the overdrive/distortion tube goodness in it, versus Helix. Listen to Rabea's tones through one on Youtube (you need to do this), and judge for yourself. Again, I love my Helix (and its tones) and this is only a comparison to my ears, YMMV... :) And I'm betting Helix will do a better "Fender" tone, the GM-40 isn't really built for that even if it does cleans well. The rest is fluff, and most would be hard-pressed to hear the difference between Helix chorus and the GM-40's chorus. The point is that with both of them one could achieve great tone with one or the other separately, and even more combined. Something to add to my bucket list... :D

Looking forward to the reviews on this...
