  1. On the VST plugin inside of Cubase 9 I am seeing 8 slots available, with a volume slider, mute and a solo button per each slot. On the AU/VST CabLab plugins I did a quick test adding OwnHammer cabs to a softsynth and it worked well. So this looks like it will work with Helix if you record inside a host that uses VST and AU type plugins. But the stand alone version requires a connect with the Axe FX or AX8 the way it looks. You can load up your IR's into the stand alone version of CabLab 3, but I don't see a way to have Helix then use/connect with the mixed IR's. Looks like It needs to be a Fractal unit to do this, which makes sense because CabLab is a Fractal product.
  2. Actually yes you can. It installs as either a vst or AU type of plugin, so all you gotta do is record Helix (or Axe FX or Kemper) and the add Cab-Lab as an effect. Then just load up a few IR's and mix and match as you like. I tried a few OwnHammer IR's and it loaded ok. The last Cab-Lab I used I only loaded the Fractal based (Axe FX II) IR's and it was not a VST or AU plugin yet. So yea thanks for getting me to re try this as it opens up a whole new Mix and Match of IR's !!!
  3. Im for drowning in DT amp series integration, Workbench integration, new amps and cabs, etc etc... Gurgle gurgle and a gurgle tuner for the gurgle editor...
  4. Per patch Passive 3-band EQ, Global Resonance & Presence controls but I dunno if its before and or after yet zooey... Edited: Found this. Looks like the passive EQ is pre, and the Presence & Resonance is the Pwr Amp EQ. So pre and post. Oh and that's off an iPad app list so you can edit and save. Using Helix for the wah, compression and etc as needed. That would be a sweet setup!
  5. Well it does have delay, modulation w/ chorus, flanger, phaser and tremolo, gain and boost, with a noise gate & reverb. And comes with redbox cab emulation. I don't know that Id call that limited. And with its switchable FX Loop and Helix, it could be heaven!
  6. Love my Helix, but actually the amp I'm really interested in tone wise right now is this ! B)
  7. Fender Twin with some gain and compression.
  8. http://www.harmoniccycle.com/hc/music-26-+4dBu-10dBV.htm And if you're not sure a piece of gear needs 48v phantom power then leave it off until you are sure.
  9. I'm not sure I've ever run across that issue from Line 6 before. ;) Im quite sure they have not with me... in fact I've not seen that issue (nothing annoying) with any of them yet. Too bad we can't take the best parts, putum in a blender and come up with that perfect box.
  10. Excellent Idea!!!!! With that simple adapter (HonestO posted) and a firmware change to make it all work, we would now have what Kemper has, a bonafide USB slot/port for swapping data with thumb drives ! That would involve a lot more software added, as you would need Helix to see a thumb drive added, and the either read it or format it, be able to see and select files from it using the front panel controls (or an editor) etc etc. So a lot of work is involved, but still a great idea!
  11. Thats really good info data (the geek in me came out didn't it...) RRMark, a change to a Kemper like strobe tuner would not be a step backwards.
  12. That nexus circle of repeating itself here was not caused by the user... Important to remember that the simple way out of the Nexus circle of fubar, is to repair the issue.
  13. In my next life I want to be a fighter pilot. But until then I'll keep playing the old Helix I have now... ;)
  14. I doubt Line 6 will ever ask Fractal for anything... ;) Oh ok it wasnt that close was it... :P
  15. Ahhh that China QA dept. must need a dusting... ;) If you can not "shake it" (or blow it) out of the way, and it bothers you then yes Id return it for another (unless yer a tech and know how to take it apart, and then it probably would void the warranty if Line 6 found out).
  16. I disagree, cause I do this all the time with a Kemper running wet dry wet into the FH1500, and with my Helix. Huge sound. Good sound. Yes the FH1500 sounds great on its own too, but when connected with the above guitar preamps "correctly", its a great sounding FRFR amp.
  17. The Mission pedal "stiffness" switch for Line 6 units is adjustable. You gotta just play with it's height until its set the way you want. I adjusted mine in about 5 minutes. I don't have a Helix floor model so I don't know if that one is built the same. But it should be adjustable as well I would think, without having to push so hard on it to lift one end off the ground even on carpet. Im sure that there are ways to break anything, so don't try and do this if yer a klutz and find a good tech to adjust if needed.
  18. Thats why Im not using Helix as an audio interface. I have a better solution in my UAD Apollo firewire 800 interface, altho USB-3 / Thunderbolt is faster (an option I can add later to mine if I choose to). Im not suggesting that Helix can not be a fine audio interface for most users, as it serves many in this regard right now. But there are better faster ways out there that USB 2. But lets not forget that Helix has a finite amount of memory. Id rather fill that up with amps, cabs and effects than with bluetooth and wifi. As always YMMV. :)
  19. Hey thats a great Helix tuner mimic there! ^^^ LOL
  20. Wheres that dead horsey bat? Kemper has the new strobe tuner. Accurate and stable as perfect can be. They had a bubble tuner before this and changed it. All software and its great as I can set intonation with it. And you know what? Theres no reason in the world why Line 6 cant do the same thing. Its just time and money right? Oh, and don't forget a tuner for the editor... ;)
  21. Competition is a good thing (even if this may not be up to Helix standards). The next one might be... ;)
  22. Thats fine and you don't have to. :) But Id rather have a few new amps and cabs added versus the time they spent on wifi or bluetooth firmware, even if the hardware was there for the software devs to use (which it isn't on Helix). You want bluetooth buy a FireHawk 1500. ;) It works very well there and isn't a toy, however "it" has the opposite issue of not having a working PC/Mac editor. Only iPad-iPhone apps.
