Expression Pedal Toe Switch apparently doesn't switch between Exp1 and Exp2
spikey replied to billbassler's topic in Helix
Ummm Ive used a Keeley modded "CryBaby" wah pedal and it sounded good to me. -
Welcome Nemo & Ditto what Glideman said. There are a few things wanted and needed added or fixed, but all in all helix is a great guitar unit i think.

Try a new preset with the bare basic's and see if its still volume low. If so..., Is here a way you can connect the XLR out to check and see if its just the 1/4" jack?

I AM TOO! :P

When I create a new patch (and i'm not completely sure about this yet) and I use EXP 1 for "wah" and EXP 2 for volume always, Helix always auto reverts to EXP-1 for volume at first, and if I don't check its controller type before a save, its muted (because I always leave the wah in heel down position). This may not be what you are experiencing and sorry if it isnt.

Collection of User Programming Tips to improve presets and tones...
spikey replied to WickedFinger's topic in Helix
Makes sense Hamm. Another Mr. Obvious statement- If your stage monitor and FOH are both good, yer all set. If one sux then somethings amiss. All tones however are based on (your ears &) your sound guys opinions, and so pay them well cause they can make or break you.- 60 replies

Agreed. I think the "option" to use IR's should always be there, no matter how many (or none at all) IR's you choose to use.

Some new pics of my small studio that of course includes Helix. :P

Could have been either or both. Good troubleshooting guys! Thing is, if Helix doesn't have this ground noise at your home, but does elsewhere, Its probably not Helix.

Are you seeing an issue with the lvls being set too hot on your bluetooth device, regarding the FH1500?

Im using the FH1500 amp and hooked up to Helix as yours is, and no Im not having that problem. How does your FH1500 amp sound by itself, with the internal patches it has? If they are still very compressed at that point, then its not Helix. Try Helix into a set of headphones, or studio monitors. Is is still compressed? If so, then its not the FH1500. Break it apart and troubleshoot. Hope that helps.

I dunno but they are really behind on their "update" info. Ver 1.0.3?
-
Best pedal I ever used for this effect was the old Hughes & Kettner Rotosphere. I wish they'd model that lol.

Yea... I just know that has to be a canned answer these poor sales guys are "required" to say (via their luddite buying management team who's not even located in the same state), when they are really saying to them self's "how ridiculous that sounds these days".

Thats not competition when theres only one group screwing you over. ;) No its not a conspiracy, but it is a shame. The bottom line is how much money we can make now, and thats great for all of us until such a time when we have only "one" place to make that money, and only one place to get that shiny new Fender amp or Gibson Lespaul (or anything else). And when that last company that sells it to "US" (the consumer) for 666 times (yes that number was intentional) more than its worth, what choice do we have then but buy it, or go black market hopping. Just now getting to play more with this pack. Im enjoying it! LOL I finally figured out just where and how to install the IR's that come with this pack. Duh on my part :P Neat trick I learned is you can click-hold & drag 5 or more IR's from the folder "right into" the IR slots in the editor! I didn' t know you could do that until now. Its the little things :D Now what we need IN A BIG WAY, is a save function for those IR's into a file so that they can be swapped, renamed and reloaded and then re-saved before or after an update, change or re-install. And if this already exists then just color me stupid once again and let me know please... Duh... ;)

I like the 122 when using a electro-harmonix Key-9 or B9 pedal.

Well that sux for the smaller Mom&Pop music stores doesn't it, esp. if other larger companies are requiring the same from retailers. Case in point, Guitar Center moved in to town a few years ago and since then we lost 3 local music stores that had been here for decades. They just closed their doors, and now I see why. With GC here (and internet sales )they just couldn't keep a stock worth having or looking at. And with the internet music giants (no taxes) they couldn't compete anyway. Sigh... So much for price competition between retailers (if there ever was such a thing).

Plus 1 for mrcdboston >Thanks for that.

We should sue Line 6 for finger abuse, but that might get me more *finger (GOD I HATE SPELL CHECKERS) abuse of another kind... :P
