Yep and he has a nice "Metal presets pack" you can purchase (I did). Hear it at at

I also intonate (I figured everyone else did) open and @ the 12 fret. And yes a good tuner will show you that intonation is off at the 12th fret if it is. But your ears should tell you too. I don't think I could could set intonation correctly with the current Helix tuner because (i don't think) theres not enough information displayed to go by. Thats where a good strobe tuner comes into play at least for me.

Now this may be over your budget a bit, but if you are looking for an amp too at some point, what I also use is the Firehawk 1500 (one nice working powered cab/backup with Helix) .

And just in case the rack wont work... Here are links from others looking for cases etc... Hope this Helps! https://www.thomann.de/gb/thon_effect_case_for_line_6_helix.htmhttp://www.rondomusic.com/pdc410ga.html https://www.amazon.com/XSPRO-XKB-32-Micro-Controllers-Compartments/dp/B00L961JAY/163-5227682-7284158?ie=UTF8&keywords=XSPRO%20XKB-32%20Gig%20Bag%20for%20Micro%20Controllers&qid=1444242085&redirect=true&ref_=sr_1_1&sr=8-1%C3%82 http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/M80PedalTour http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/GClubCont25 http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/BossBagL2 https://www.udggear.com/udg-urbanite-midi-controller-sleeve-large-black

Look for a pair of good used Mackie HR824's on Ebay. You can thank me later...

Sometimes its the simple things that work the best... lol :P

I would hate to have to choose between my Kemper and Helix, and I "love" the tones from my Kemper. Helix is that good!
-
To me, its not that its more "jumpy" (for lack of a better word). Its just designed wrong. No, Im not a coder or programmer and I dont mean to sound un appreciative of the effort (which was lots). What I wish would happen is for some one to look at Kemper's new 4.0 version of a tuner, and then make the Helix tuner like that one. Here is what Im talking about. As always, YMMV :D

Hardware wise Stereo spread = what Duncann did above, plus 2 FRFR monitors set 10 feet apart or better and panned hard left and right.
-
Welp nice to know that yours was not heat sensitive mjorden. Sounds then like an isolated event atm...
-
What was the temp in the room where it died? Was Helix in a corner or in a rack with poor ventilation? Next to a hot power amp?

Anything coming yet on Touch Engage/Disengage Pedal like Axe FX
spikey replied to sonikimage's topic in Helix
This just works like a Dream on the Axe FX. Really. Even thou I bought the Mission pedal /w switch for Helix, Id switch over in a second if it had all the bells and whistles the Axe has on this topic. Its that good... You can even adjust the percentage of when it will engage, and the slope/curve on the wah pedal. -
Very Nice !
-
Oh yes, it will always. If you just think about the component differences alone between say a Fender Strat, and a Gibson Les Paul, there should be differences in the sound (if the guitar processor is worth its own salt so to speak).
-
I think that is a Great idea!
-
Ive been one for 40 years now and it make sense to this troubleshooter.
-
Thanks Silver, good idea! Is that the same for a Mac I guess?
-
FY ER! Yea nice one! :)

No, its not unrealistic or unreasonable to expect nice future updates & add ons for Helix. I was never suggesting it was not expected either. Expected yes, and not demanded. I love updates! I want updates and I am tickled when we get them! That said, yes, you gotta keep things real, as you state. For example, if you/we buy anything (Helix or whatever) with the unrealistic expectation that you will get everything you desire later on just because you want it, demand it, deserve it, think your'e owed it, and because of the money you/we spent on it, is, well, a bit naive and attitude wise a part of the elite aristocracy. ;) In other words and with that mindset, be ready to be disappointed all the time. Back on topic, the Snapshot update is a wonderful and needed add-on that should help sell an already great product well!
-
Well, because you invested money in it is my first thought. That said, if I had read that Helix would not work with studio monitors after I bought it I would be miffed too, but that would be my fault for not asking beforehand. There are folks here who will chip in I'm sure shortly, that have used a DT-25 with amazing results. yes they had to set it up differently but from what I read it produced results they wanted. Stand by before you sell/return it and hear from them first, just to get another opinion on this set=up.

Currently using an SLA-2 with a 1960a cab and getting great results with Kemper (and Helix). The best advice is and always will be, use what sounds good to you, and don't worry about what it is or might look like.
