To each his/her own, but just curious, why such a hatred negative attitude on spending money Mon? You act like a few others who have complained here about the money spent on Helix being a reason for its poor tonal quality. Once again It sounds to me your just too tight, as in every time you toot yer nose bleeds. ;)

Yea if you partition the drive and set both OS'es up for each. Otherwise and of course "In My Opinion", you are begging for trouble. In any case Ive rubbed you the wrong way and that was unintended. Im just blunt like that. Good luck with your setup however you decide to use it. :)

Well Im not saying the USB audio interface won't work. Im just saying that I prefer the Apollo. That said, Helix is one helluva guitar processor to just toss by the wayside just because the audio interface may not work to a certain standard if the computer isn't setup for being a DAW. Im thinking now that you have TSR's running in the background effecting your audio monitoring on record. Did you set your computer up like many sites say to, regarding PC DAW setup? The speed of the PC does nothing special when its not (tweaked) set for a DAW audio wise. :D ps- you may already know this, but don't use that same PC for audio and playing games too. They are set up differently for each process and one setup will not work well with the other. Also, (as I stated earlier) once you learn a bit more about how to get that sweet tone from Helix, Im betting the less you will worry less about it also being an audio interface, not that it won't work for that too. I just hate it when they try and make one trick ponies like that, because Ive always felt that it was kinda like robbing peter to pay paul. Or using the back of your Les Paul for an ironing board... Sure it might work well but, ... ;) As always, YMMV as mine does.

Have you tried Helix just as a guitar interface, and used another Audio Interface like UAD's Apollo, or similar ? I never did like USB audio interfaces compared to firewire or thunderbolt devices. And I would lower that 96k down to 48k and see if the pops stop. Most can't hear the difference anyway, and it just takes up more space on the hard drive.

I am also trying some OwnHammer cab IR's that sound pretty good.

So I guess you've decided after all it might be worth keeping then? Just didn't want to read half a book here... :P

Is there a way to move an entire footswirch from one location to another?
spikey replied to Rocco_Crocco's topic in Helix
I didnt either... Wow... Just Wow... -
Yep this Snapshot update add-on in my opinion is the cats meow (old dude lingo- means GREAT)... B)

If Helix is off and you still get noise, unplug its USB cable from the computer side and see if its still there. If it is then its not the Helix USB cable.

Scenes (Snapshots) have been around for a while now, in other products. Im glad Line-6 added this to theirs.

Any way to get more than 10 foot switches in a patch?
spikey replied to musiclover7's topic in Helix
Yea as isdirg1 suggests, you should be able to get 8 different settings using Snapshot's now per patch. -
Glad you got it going Zooey! +1 for HO's link.

What windows OS version are you using, and is it updated? Is your Windows 7 OS updated?

Thanks for the videos. Esp. Vid 2 where you talk about how you are controlling the snapshots, and effects setup.

+1 @ OP... :D

Running mine on a early 2010 iMac and have not run into this issue yet.

I thinks those green boxes all sound saturated and distorted... :P ;)

What I would do is, Unhook the FBV3 pedal and try to power up again. If it won't, contact Sweetwater and Line 6 for return/repair ticket.

Both the Kemper and Helix rack still have a place in my studio. I will be glad when Kemper gets an official editor released, no offense to the 3rd parties out there.

Yes, Helix plays well with other pedals. Use the Aux in/out jacks and place them as you wish, or just put them in front and adjust to taste.

FWIW and my 2 cents, I can tell you that in using the Helix tuner versus the newly designed Kemper tuner, there is no way I can set intonation accurately with Helix. I can however with Kemper's new 4.04 (tuner) software. Yes, they are apples and oranges in functionality and looks to a large degree and Yea, the Helix tuner probably wasn't designed specifically for that purpose but still, the Kemper built in tuner is now a helluva lot more sensitive and accurate and allows you to do this while in my experiences the Helix tuner ATM won't or can't without much shooting in the dark. Id love to see the Kemper tuner approach implemented inside of Helix.

LOL Di, maybe its the park acoustics.... :P

Id hate to have to lift all the amps Fractal Audio and Line 6 modeled after. That said, the declared winner is the one you chose.
