  1. I still think it would be a handy feature. Fido83, all this is reminding me of how much of a pain in the keester the GT-5 was to tweak. lol 😂
  2. Unfortunately, you have to use Volume blocks at the start of each path. Turn the level of both volume blocks to zero or whatever negative number it gives you so that no signal go through. Then you can assign those volume blocks to a footswitch so that they alternate being on or off. It's a really ridiculously stupid and wasteful use of an effect block that ticks me off when I think too much about it but hey, that's what Line6 thinks is best. Humbug, I say!!
  3. I upvoted it but I also added this comment;
  4. I like to use my looper (Boss RC-20XL) in FX Loop 1 and I wish I could turn off its foldback circuit and only have the recorded loop play through. Having the looper's foldback and the Helix's foldback being summed in the signal path sometimes causes some phase issues and it complicates the gain staging. Sadly, I can't find any info on modding the RC-20XL that would allow me to do this.
  5. I'm sure all the new toys in the update will be fun but until it's good and ready, I'm happy to wait.

    Rubber feet

    Which model of the Pedaltrain would that be? I looked at their specs and while some are spec'd out to between 3 to 3.4 lbs., I don't think they're taking into account the hardcase. The one with a softcase comes in at 6 lbs. so I seriously doubt that the ones with the hardcase would be lighter. I believe they'd be heavier. Sorry, but for me, every little lb. or two adds up. I do agree that a better angle on stage would help a lot but the way it is now, I can make do for the sake of lighter weight.

    And make it needlessly heavier than it already is? No thanks. I have enough gear to pack around.
  9. Interesting. I've often had great results using multi band compressors and and have used them successfully in tone shaping in recording situations. It'll be nice to the use of one for live use.

  11. Wow. I remember a time when if you mention a multi-band compressor to a guitar player, their eyes would glaze over like a deer in headlights.
  12. Well, I suppose when you're using a synth sound, you're not likely to be using an amp block and/or cab sims so, maybe, maybe...
  13. Guys, let's get a little perspective here. The Helix isn't very good at doing the Synth stuff but I doubt that the EHX Synth 9 could do what the Helix does. You can't really compare the two because they're two completely different animals. The EHX is a single purpose device specifically designed to do what it does. It's hardly fair to expect the Helix to do the excellent modeling that it does AND do the Synth stuff as well as a dedicated Synth box like the EHX.
  14. Agreed. But I think those same settings may do well with a Strat or a tele.
  15. Yeah, gonna have to try those settings on the Helix.
  16. Greg Koch is one funny dude and just a rippin' guitar player!
  17. Exactly. The guitar is still being built, right? Is it too late to get a neck pickup routed in?
  18. It's not uncommon for me to turn the Hi Cut all the way down to 2kh. I try not to worry about the numbers and tweak till it sounds good to me.
  19. I'm in one of my experimental moods. I don't have any cab IRs as I just haven't had the need for them, but I want to run 2 amp blocks in parallel into one cab sim just to see what it would sound like. :D
  20. Just don't expect it to be plug and play. Expect to have to work to get the sounds you want. As for the p*ssed off wife, ask her about the several $300 sweaters she got at Nordstrom.
