  2. Try using global settings to 8 stomps for the main footswitches, and set the Up/Down switches to Snapshots. You will be able to control 8 stomps at a time and move between snapshots with one (or more) taps on the up/down switches. You might find it useful, although multiple taps to get to different snapshots could be troublesome, as well as the fact that I don't think you can see the Snapshot names as you navigate among them. Might have to be flying blind.
  3. Try downloading the firmware file to your computer first, then run Line 6 Monkey and use the 'Install From File' option.
  4. Try connecting Helix to the L2t using the Helix XLR or 1/4" outputs to the L2t rear panel inputs rather than using L6 Link.
  5. It sounds like your Gain block and the Wah pedal share the same Bypass controller. When one is on the other is off and the controller (whatever it is you 'click' to engage the Wah) toggles between them. Check the Bypass controller setting for your Gain block.
  6. I'm sure they're on it. Meantime I don't think it's more than a very minor annoyance.
  7. Sure. You could connect the Pod HD mono output into the Sonic Port Guitar input. You can record directly into Garageband using the Sonic Port without using Mobile Pd.
  8. Pressing and turning the knob is a shortcut that assigns it to the snapshot controller.
  9. I recall that this behaviour was reported previously and acknowledged by Line 6 to be a bug. I expect it will be fixed in a future update but no idea when. I don't think it happens with every block/icon in every preset - perhaps that's something you could test/confirm? As you mention it doesn't affect actual performance - it's just a display issue on the Helix screen itself. I believe the LED on the Helix and Helix Control devices operate properly. Yes?
  10. Also check your global setting for the snapshots Recall/Save parameter. If it is set to Discard you will need to save the preset before selecting another snapshot.
  11. Sorry - my bad. So yeah, without the FX Send/Return on the Pod Desktop you have to decide whether to place it pre- or post-amp with respect to your guitar amp.
  12. Certainly the existence of competing products influenced Line 6 in the development of Helix. But comparison threads in various public forums had just about zero influence I suspect, and that's what we're talking about here. I think Ideascale had much more influence.
  13. Note that you also need to connect your monitors to the Toneport outputs in order to hear the signal. The Toneport becomes your computer's soundcard, bypassing your computer's internal soundcard.
  14. I think the thread is worthwhile in the spirit which you intend it. But you're right - it can be a sensitive topic around here! I would also like to see and hear some comparative results. Nothing definitive or objective about it - just some fun. But I also encourage you, as thread owner, to intervene as required to keep it on track by discouraging those who might want to turn it into a competition.
  15. The answer to the question you asked is Yes. Connect the FX Out of your amp to the Guitar In on the Pod, and connect the Pod Output to the amp's FX Return. However, the answer to a slightly different question, and one that provides more flexibility in the Pod+amp setup and routing, is the 4-cable method. The question would be "How can I best use my Pod HD with my guitar amp?" Search this forum (and elsewhere) for the term 4CM. Here's a start: http://line6.com/support/page/kb/_/pod/pod-hd/video-tutorial-connecting-the-pod-hd500x500-r145
  16. Makes sense to me. I believe the Helix editor window size is fixed in terms of #pixels height and width - you can't grab a corner/edge and resize it. Translated to a 4k screen with a much higher pixel resolution this would mean the window size occupies less real estate on the screen. Don't know that there's much you can do about it except using Windows tools to reduce the pixel granularity of your display, making the Helix display appear larger.
  17. Good! Thanks - I'll not spend any more time wondering why the Drive setting is so non-responsive with the preamp+T combo! As you described, the full+I combo is the way to go with Helix.
  18. Aaaahhh.... there's the rub! If only some of these threads could keep it to that.
  19. Yes, I've experimented with both setups: Helix full amp (including power amp) with the "I" versions of the IR as well as Helix preamp (no power amp) with the "T" version of the IR. The full amp+I pairing gives a more full sound whereas the preamp+T pairing gives a different but also very pleasing sound. The biggest difference I notice is that the full+I combo is much more sensitive to the Drive parameter in the preamp model. The added crunch/grit is very noticeable. In the pre+T combo the sound is much less sensitive to the Drive preamp setting - the added crunch/grit with a higher setting is much less noticeable. Does that make sense? You say that the T version includes "some" of the Tube amp interaction. Perhaps what's missing includes the part where the Drive parameter of the preamp works in conjunction with the master volume of the power amp to produce crunch/grit?
  20. Based on my own experience with anxiety/depression, and that of my bi-polar daughter, I strongly encourage you to remain on your medication as prescribed. If the meds are working to make you feel better, that's when it gets tempting to say "I 'm feeling better now. I don't think I need my meds anymore." Big mistake. The meds are the reason you're feeling better, so guess what happens if you stop? My daughter made that mistake last year and spent the better part of three months recovering from it. I could spend a long time spouting off about the stigma of mental illness. It's an illness, not a weakness. We don't say to diabetics "It's all in your head - just get over it. You don't need to be taking that stupid insulin." Why do we sometimes think and talk that way about a mental illness? The simple fact is that my brain doesn't retain a sufficient level of seratonin on its own. I need the SSRI, just like a diabetic needs insulin. ..... but don't get me started ....
  21. EXP 1 is the default controller for the Wah FX. Here's a snip from the Controllers page of the manual: NOTE: Adding a Wah or Pitch Wham block automatically assigns it to be controlled by EXP 1. Adding a Volume Pedal or Pan block automatically assigns it to be controlled by EXP 2.
  22. I suggest you open a support ticket. http://line6.com/support/tickets/add.html
  23. What versions of the driver and Line 6 Updater are you using?
  24. Do you normally use headphones? Is there another monitoring method that you could use to test/compare? Maybe recreate a brief recording and compare? Ideally, use a previously recorded dry track that you also previously reamped in v2.10. Reamp it again with the same preset in v2.11?
  25. There were no changes that would affect the sound. The most common causes (other than a placebo affect) would be global settings including Variax Preset/Global, IR mixups, and global EQ. You seem to have ruled out two of those. Any chance your IRs are misplaced?
