  1. OK - I misunderstood the technology. Thanks for the clarification and education!
  2. OK, so by ‘clear a preset’ you mean ‘replace it with a preset named New Preset that has no blocks’. Is that right? If so, the way to do that would be to export a Setlist containing only New Preset in all preset slots from the original factory presets/setlists. Then anytime you want to clear all presets you import that Setlist. This can be done easily with any Helix that provides more than one Setlist in its factory settings. The HX FX however does not contain multiple Setlists. It provides a single setlist of 128 presets, and it contains factory presets. I don’t know if it contains any New Preset among them. In any case, to do what I described above you would need to first manually create the setlist containing only New Preset. You only need to create and export it once and then you can import it at any later time.
  3. I highly doubt it. It is not mentioned among the bug fixes in the release notes. I suppose I t’s possible that it is among the ‘Other minor fixes and improvements’ but you’d need someone who can test it to tell you. Looking at the description of the WIDI UHost I see it uses MIDI an over Bluetooth. The POD Go is not Bluetooth capable. So I expect there’s an approximately 0% chance that it’s ’fixed’ (which is a misnomer in the first place since it’s not a bug). The POD Go uses MIDI over USB. It makes no claim to handle MIDI over Bluetooth.
  4. Why not contact Line 6 Support and plead your case? You never know…. and it can’t hurt.
  5. Interesting. From the retailer's perspective: Why would I want to sell a single guitar that can sound like many guitars? I'd rather sell more of each of the many. I want guitarists to have to carry 6 guitars with them to every gig - not one. A different guitar for different sounds and tunings. That's what I want to sell! Good observation.

    3.71 Issue

OOPS.... If anyone has been following this for the last few minutes, please ignore two earlier posts i made and have since deleted. I was misinterpreting the display of alternate tunings in HX Edit and on my Helix Rack. Apologies for any confusion. This appears NOT to be a bug. Alternate tunings are working as expected for me with my Helix Rack running v3.71 and my JTV-59. If it were an actual bug I would be seeing it too, and it would probably have been noticed and reported by many others by this time. I strongly suspect there is something wrong with @geordie100's setup or equipment. @geordie100: I would try solving the problem by following these steps in order: 1) Try another VDI cable. If you don't have a spare you can use a standard network cable (RJ-45) temporarily. Test your alternate tunings. If still a problem... 2) Visually inspect the VDI ports on both your Helix and your JTV. If any pins appear bent straighten them using an improvised J-hook from some wire that's thin enough to get in there yet strong enough to straighten the pins. Test your alternate tunings. If still a problem... 3) Reset you Helix device. Restore everything from your v3.70 Backup file (there are no new factory presets in v3.71). After restoring, turn your Helix off/on to force an immediate rebuild of any presets that may require it. Test your alternate tunings. If still a problem... 4) Reinstall the firmware on your JTV-59. Test your alternate tunings. If still a problem... 5) Open a support ticket. There may be a hardware fault in either your Helix or your JTV.
  7. It would be good to get that straight but I don’t know if we can. The reality is that many people are able to use USB3 with no issues, while some issues are resolved when USB2 rather than USB3 is used. So some reported issues are somehow caused by USB3 while no reported issues are known to be caused by USB2. Hence the prudent thing for Line 6 to do is to recommend always using USB2, which is what they are doing. Meanwhile, in the background, they may be investigating further to try to identify and resolve any technical issues with using USB3. If they are doing so we don’t know about it. It reminds me of a different yet similar issue with non/partially-ASIO compliant drivers like ASIO4ALL. Some people use it without any issues. For others, their issues disappear when they use the Line 6 ASIO compliant driver. So Line 6 Support simply does not offer support for ASIO4ALL environments. They support only installations that use the Line 6 ASIO driver.

    3.71 Issue

Did you restore the Global Settings from your backup file? Make sure the Variax setting is Per Preset and not Global.

    3.71 Issue

Did you perform the recommended factory reset on your Helix after updating? Also try powering your computer off/on.
  10. I know this doesn't directly answer your question, but... Do you want this all the time or do you want it only on a preset basis? If you want it all the time you could do it with a cable adapter. Connect a Y-splitter cable to the 1/4" L/Mono output (no cable in the R output) and then connect the two Y cable ends to your output device. Each of the Y paths will carry a mono signal.
  11. You can only use one device at a time as the audio source in Windows. Once you change the source (input) device from the POD Go to the RODE you can no longer hear any input from the POD Go, and vice versa. If both devices are connected to your computer via USB then both will continue to send audio to your computer. But your computer is only listening to the one you have specified as the audio input device; audio coming in over USB from the other device is ignored. You could connect the analog audio outputs of the POD Go to the audio inputs of the RODE and you would hear the POD Go output through the RODE headphones. You can hear YouTube videos through the device that is specified as the audio output device. Typically you specify the same device as both for general audio purposes (e.g. listening to YouTube and jamming along). When recording in Windows you must use the same device for both. That’s a constraint of the ASIO protocol. This is true when recording, too. You can specify either your POD Go or your RODE as the program’s audio device, for both input and output. In Windows with ASIO you can’t simultaneously use both. (Caveat: pseudo-ASIO utilities like ASIO4ALL work for some people but in general can cause problems with Line 6 devices and are not supported by Line 6.) Note: HX Edit does not transmit any audio over USB. It communicates with the Helix device using only command and control messages. That’s why you still should be able to use HX Edit while using your RODE as the audio device.
  12. Depends on what you call ‘recent’. The post you quoted was from Apr 2022 - nearly two years ago.
  13. Use the Extract Files from Backup menu item in HX Edit. That will export all presets in a setlist from your Backup file to an individual folder on your computer. Then you can import them individually. Simpler - less time but with some redundancy - would be to select just the Setlist you want to Restore from the Backup file. It will overwrite all presets in the selected Setlist, including the buggy and non-buggy ones.
  14. No, what you describe is not possible with the POD Go. Only one patch can be active at a time. However, you mention having a physical amp as well. If that amp has an FX Loop you can use the 4 Cable Method as described in the POD Go manual. That will allow you to use both a POD Go amp model and your physical amp in the same patch. You could use snapshots to instantaneously switch between your POD Go amp model (e.g. your clean tone) and your physical amp (e.g. your solo tone). You might also be able to assign the Mix parameter of the FX Loop in the POD Go to a pedal and blend them as you wish - not sure how that would work but worth a try. If you can’t use 4CM experiment more with using your pedal and perhaps other FX in your attached patch. You may be able to get closer to what you want.
  15. Just to confirm…. You are using the latest POD GO driver for Win11, v1.97.0.2? Have you tried restarting both your computer and the POD Go after updating the driver?

    Helix

An hour does seem too long. The lack of any progress shown in the progress bar in the image indicates that the firmware update is not able to begin. Did you follow the instructions provided in your image? If so, and still not working, given your earlier USB port issue I suspect there is a compatibility problem of some sort with Helix and your computer. I would open a support ticket to work directly with Line 6 Technical Support. Follow the Support tab at the top of this page.
  17. I did not know that. Thanks for posting.

    Helix

Each update is complete and comprehensive. You just need to install v3.71
  19. No. You could attempt to do it manually by running HD500x Edit offline to inspect your POD HD preset. Simultaneously run HX Edit with your Helix device connected and duplicate the signal path as closely as possible. Then tweak to see if you can get a better sound. From what I have seen from people reporting their efforts to do this the result has been disappointing. The differences in the underlying modelling technology means that the same parameter settings on the same models sound very different. Most people find they are able to get better results by starting from scratch. At best the POD HD preset can give you a hint about what models to select. But detailed settings don’t translate well.
  20. I believe you have already posted about and solved this problem. You already know what’s happening. You need to switch from USB3 to USB2. Is your USB2 port not working now? Your USB3 port won’t suddenly work just because you are posting about it again. And no one can help you make it work.
  21. I think what matters most is the condition of the specific HX FX device you are considering. Overall durability of the device in general doesn’t really matter if the one you get is defective. I expect there are lots of 4+ year old devices that are working perfectly. Hearing about that won’t improve the condition of your device. Personally I would keep looking until I found one that has not been roughly treated and repaired.
  22. Have you downloaded and installed the necessary driver?
  23. Use the Downloads section of this website - see link at the top of this page. Select UX2 as the hardware/product, select Driver as the software, and select your computer OS. When presented with the list of drivers check the DOWNLOAD button for the top item in the list (the latest driver version). Repeat for POD Farm 2, selecting it as the software.
