  1. Yep... Have yet to read the cheat sheet... LoL!
  2. I'm with @PeterHamm on this one!
  3. Yeah, I haven't read anything about Lincoln Brewster making the switch to Helix since he popped that pic as an obvious early recipient of one... Might not want to have to reprogram all his tones. Hehe
  4. DI, I've noticed how well my Helix seems to fit in the mix with both the band and the church praise team band. Kemper does this as well, but I'm only toting one device around for church since I go direct and use monitors/in-ears there versus FRFR with the band. I actually like my presets better with the bands live than I do just playing around at the house... And I really like how it sounds just jamming by myself at the house via FRFR. I get compliments on my tone from other guitarists and musicians. That is a huge barometer for me.
  5. Having owned Axe FX Ultra, Axe FX II XL+, Kemper Rack and lunch box, AX8, and Helix (have another KPA again and kept Helix), I can say that at this level, it all boils down to a few comfort features and slight personal preference, too. Agree 100% pertaining to any hatefests from any camp. I'm a fanboy of none, but a fanboy of all! I just happened to like the Helix as my primary and Kemper as my secondary. If you can't get great tone out of all of today's modelers, you might need to get serious professional help! LoL! I've owned some really nice (and some really crappy) equipment in my 48 years. What I play through now is as good or better than any tone toys and amps I've ever used. We're all winners!
  6. Love mine, but that sucker is heavy even for a big boy like me. LoL!
  7. I used to use the Kemper Rack live all the time. It will actually be nicer with the Kemper Remote and my two Mission for Kemper expression pedals I kept. I'll probably use Helix live and Kemper in the studio unless I feel like a change of pace for a few gigs. If you can afford both, it's a win/win situation. You always have a great backup rig, too. It still boils down to personal preference in my opinion concerning Fractal/Kemper/Helix at this stage of the game. Obviously I'm not a fan boy, finding great things in all of them. Just been blessed to have owned them all. My church band audition this week after work should be interesting with Helix. The girl that plays electric for them is using an X3 Live (yeah, I had one of those, too. LoL!) Still gets some really cool sounds for that genre with it, too.
  8. I tweaked Glenn's 3 amp patch to my liking and probably used it for 60% of my gig last night!
  9. I'm just done with the world of deep edit and 1000 menus. I don't gain enough for my usage style with the Fractal stuff. I had Axe fx II XL+ and Kemper Rack before Helix and got rid if then after I was satisfied enough with the all in one pedal solution Helix afforded. I ended up missing the Kemper. So I bought a used toaster and kpa remote pedal. I was using the Behringer MIDI pedal with my Kemper Rack. Helix did well at the biggest most important gig I've played with it yet last night! Sounded great in the mix. I'm about tweaked and volume balanced now. So the base sounds are ready for prime time and proven.
  10. Pole behind me or beside like a side fill depending on the stage size.
  11. I had a flawless gig last night... Well... After I replaced the bad/faulty patch cable from my wireless to my Helix. LoL!
  12. I got rid of the AX8 and bought another Kemper for my alternate rig to go with Helix.
  13. First real gig with the Helix tonight... This one counts!
  14. Mostly which is setup in the studio and which one travels. LoL! I find the Friedman just a little hair darker, but not much.
  15. These are the ones I use... http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/K240mk2
  16. I can drum for sh@t... but that's about all I can drum for... :P
  17. I have a Friedman asm-12. I use it and some seismic coaxials (15" and 12"). Use the Friedman more with a Kemper and Seismics more with Helix.
  18. I think they're only fixing tap tempo... :P
  19. Don't be hatin on Marilyn... :P
