  1. This is probably where having X number of saveable global EQ presets would be nice. Build/tweak your patches on your main rig, then have global EQ presets for headphones, studio, spare FRFR, etc... I'm fortunate, if my patches sound great in my AKG's, they usually sound a little better on my main powered coaxial FRFR.
  2. Gonna have to buy me up some of those!
  3. That's scary... I can use my helix or my Kemper into my live and studio setups and get equally good tones out of both. The 2204 mod amp is unreal for me. I've even got a few presets for going into a tube power amp into a guitar cab for those moments when I want to gig with the mega amp in the room feel. I'd seriously try to contact Line 6 customer service and see what you can get out if it with them on the phone or something. Like I said, I've got a Kemper to compare side by side (and I had Axe 2 and AX8 that I got rid of after side by side with Helix). I'm not a fan boy by any shape or form. Good luck!
  4. Somebody please perma kill this thread!!! LoL!!!
  5. Agree with @DunedInDragon... use it just like you would a normal DI box.
  6. Line 6 one for volume, and a Mission pedal for misc parameters. Use the onboard pedal for Wah since I still have to have a switch versus them adding the heel down wah bypass option in a future firmware.
  7. I would probably get laughed out of the contest within 30 seconds... LoL!

    Snapshots

I still use presets since I only use 4 snapshot/4 stomp mode. However, there are a couple of presets that I could use for almost every song I play during a given night. The other handful of presets are rigged up for specific specialty songs. For most of our stuff, I use the two main presets depending on whether harder rock/rock or blues/rock/pop. My most favorite preset I could probably use all night and still not get any complaints.
  9. Congrats! You should have no problem with the learning curve! Helix is just dirt simple to me. I never seem to fight the device or the computer programming interface. Snapshots just plain ROCK!!!
  10. Good point! I don't have mine anymore, but it would have made for some good added effects...
  11. I have a Kemper, too... it will definitely scratch the "I need multiple amps" itch... LoL!
  12. If you vary all the settings in all of the amp models, plus try all the cab/mic combos, plus try a ton of IR's, you will find that having hundreds of amp models is not really necessary. As the previous poster noted, most amps are based on a handfull of vintage amp circuits. Tons of these mods are in the preamp section. A lot of the tone variances lie in the cabinets themselves.
  13. At church, I plug straight into Helix via 1/4" and straight out to PA mixer via XLR. I'll see how the Radial DI does this evening.
  14. Art church, nice new digital board... Midas m32 I believe. Noisey helix with or without ground lift. Taking a radial direct box tomorrow for practice. Helix is not noisy on our systems at all. They say there is no phantom power on my channel. I've got money it's their cheap xlr cables or a noisy snake channel Will update... It's not terribly noisy, just mild hum.
  15. You mean you can put in an IR block and use snapshots to change which IR it uses??? Holy cow!!!!
  16. Yep... Line 6 had Helix in the works long before Yamaha showed up to the party...
  17. Yeah, why post something that someone else built as your own on a free patch download site? Jeez...
  18. I'm just bummed that I didn't have time yesterday to test my new Glenn Delaune presets out... :(
  19. Kinda partial to the Scribble strips considering they can change per preset. hehehe
