  1. Also the JTV piezos are available too,... http://www.fullcompass.com/prod/234088-Line-6-11-00-0010 and in stock as well.
  2. Piezo for the older Variax series electrics,.... http://www.fullcompass.com/prod/114557-Line-6-11-11-0001 Shows that it's in stock now.
  3. 6CA7 is fine for a Pearlman Tube mic, but not in a Bogner tube amp section of a Line 6 DT50. And radatats is right, don't go mixing pentodes with tetrodes,... the circuit isn't designed for that.
  4. These are not the analog tube amps from the 1960's and 70's, where you can swap between tube types. This is a hybrid amp with digital and analog sections. "YOU CAN USE THE 6CA7 TUBES IN A DT50 I AM USING 2 MESA 12AX7 TUBES AND 2 JJ 6CA7 TUBES AND IS RUNNING FINE"--- I might be now, but I see way too many DT50's come across my bench just for that reason. Incorrect tubes and incorrect bias levels, I see this way too much. It will damage something eventually, running it like that. Do not use Mesa, JJ, Ruby Tubes or Groove Tubes in this amp. The characteristic curves between these tubes may be close, but not close enough. These are Bogner hot rods, don't hot rod the hot rod or something will fail. The characteristic curves are not close enough, and using the specified bias on these other tubes would be the wrong bias. I see way too many DT50's come across my bench just for that reason. I'm trying to keep that from occurring. Please don't do that. For those who say that EH's are just Sovteks with EH painted on it,... EH owns the Sovtek factory. The EH labeled tubes go through extra scrutiny. Use the specified Electro-Harmonix 12AX7's and EL34's. For those who ask soft, medium or hard,... ... I'm told by an EH person that we get the mediums.
  5. There is a part on the Variax processor board that can get damaged. We have been telling people for years. So please don't do that.
  6. Monkey 1.71, Workbench 1.75, good. The 1/4" battery fake out is for the JTV and The Standard, only. DO NOT plug in VDI and 1/4" simultaneously, it will stress a couple of parts on the power regulating circuits.
  7. Yes, what Silverhead said. Also, click on "Change Device" on Monkey, see if it re-initializes the GUI and the 300. Had to do that to my 300 Electric after an update, once upon a time. Speaking of Monkey,... make sure you have the latest version. As a last resort,... contact Line 6 Support through your account and log a support ticket. Two products that old may require some servicing from a Line 6 authorized tech who knows the product.
  8. Pick-up would have affect more on strings. It can create a string warbling, a modulation in frequency or FM (like in the earlier L-wave picture), And in Model mode, the piezo picks up on that signal. It sounds annoying, and when using Alt Tune it's even worse. I come across that every now and then, it sounds awful. Yeah, the magnets aren't that strong, the effect can be subtle (but sometimes not). The rate of change between the string frequency verses rate of change of the string crossing the mag field gives a changing beat frequency. It might not be related to Miroslav's problem, but it's something to be aware of when using mags and piezos together.
  9. "I've tried the factory reset as described in the manual, Knife switch in middle position plug 1/4 cable in while holding guitar model button down. No luck. (Lights do not flash as described in procedure)"--- That way of doing a factory reset is out of date. An update is in progress. After the Flash crossed over to v2.00, the only way to factory reset is to re-Flash it. A Line 6 authorized tech in your area will need to get inside to deal with the Alt Tune problem. You should contact Line 6 through the ticketing system through your Line 6 account, and get any needed return authorizations.
  10. The L-wave suggests a change of wavelength, which would be a change of frequency, or frequency modulation (FM). Whatever problem there is would be more transverse wave related. The string would have to do some serious gymnastics to do L-waves. Magnetic pull from pick-ups induce the field in such a way, as to create warbling (an FM effect), which is result of an out-of-adjusted pick up height. -Have you tried using equalisation on your floor effects station or amplifier, to filter out the undesired frequency (between 1.6-1.7 kHz)? -Have you used Workbench HD to adjust the parameters (body, pick-ups, string gauges, string volume, etc) and create the Model patch to where like it? It's a lot easier than a firmware re-write, since they are not going to re-write the firmware to your specifications, just for you. They just don't do that sort of customization. That's what Workbench HD is for. Here's a tool and an opportunity to make use of the tool to tweak to the way you like it. Make use of it, that's what it's there for. For those who don't always like to have just presets. It's about possibilities with the tools, finding your voice and sculpting your sound.
  11. Claptrap? Then why doesn't everyone with a JTV have this problem? There is something else here.
  12. And the magnetic pull on the strings when Modeling is engaged can produce that, if the pick-ups are not adjusted correctly to the distance of the strings.
  13. L-wave is a false premise that doesn't go anywhere. That is the wave physics of it.
  14. 89F,... could be a number of reasons other than what's on this forum. Could be set-up, mal-adjusted locking nut, some other hardware that's not as tight as it should,... etc. Could be any number of things. There are those who, because of the genre they play, use string sets starting with 11-gauge, instead of 10-gauge. If you try that, be sure to have your guitar set-up checked and adjusted if needed, since changing gauges alters string tension which results in affecting the set-up. If it was the firmware, then everyone who owns a JTV would have this problem. Since we don't, then it must be something else.
  15. Answer #2 from the Pilot's Guide--- FBV Input – can plugin a Line6 FBV Express or FBVShortboardMkII. The following FBV functionality is supported: -Preset A B C D select -Tap Tempo and Tuner -Expression pedal control of assigned parameters
  16. They re-flowed solder around some of the surrounding chips?
  17. I am a repair tech at Line 6, HQ. The fellow you've been dealing with is pretty good, but he may have forgotten about his particular chip for this specific problem. It's an older product. He's on the inside,.... I'm just a bit more on the inside than he is. The head replacement parts guy confirmed it for me earlier today here. We have the chip. It's now a matter of the service center ordering it.
  18. Flash it again. Sometimes it takes more than once. There has to be green LED's on the interface the whole time. If there is an interruption in the data during the process, it may induce a MIDI time out error, an eight with many zeros after it. Volume and tone controls at full clockwise.
  19. I've just been informed that the chip is available and in stock. Should be a warranty repair, but check with the service center or Line 6 support first, so that there aren't any hang-ups or snags.
  20. And there's a fix for that. I've worked on a few hundred of these. It May be that, but then, it's an older product, it may just be an few intermittent solder points. There's a fix for that. As for the chip, I'm looking into it as we speak.
  21. It's not bricked. The afore mentioned problems are repairable. But it has to be done by an authorized who knows the system and has access to service documents and parts.
