  1. What kind of computer are you using? If Windows, what version? i5 with 8gb ram is minimal. I don't know what the 32 bit float setting is about, but HXS is 24 bit. Optimize your computer for audio (google it). At the very least, turn OFF wireless and set your Power Plan to Performance. In Control Panel>System>Advanced>Settings>Visual effects set to Performance. On the Advanced Tab>Performance>Settings set to Background Services. It looks like (based on the RTL latency reported) that you're using 128 samples. You probably wouldn't like 256, but try it.
  2. It wasn't intended as a serious analogy, it was a play on doing something silly until it hurts. Turning the wheel rapidly back and forth while driving fast could cause the car to flip. To be serious, as a programmer you should know that while a procedure may look instantaneous to a human, it actually takes time. Feed most any system the same procedure repeatedly without a programmed wait time between executions and you can cause problems. It takes time to unload a preset and then more time to load a new one. AND, if they added a wait time between preset changes, more users would complain about slow preset changes!
  3. I accelerated my car to 100mph then slammed on the brakes until the car stopped then repeated this over and over. After a while the engine blew up. I replaced the engine and repeated the test. This time after a while the car wouldn't stop anymore. I ran into the back of a truck. When I got out of my coma I reported this bug to the car's mfr, but so far have yet to hear back..... How in the world did this POS car ever pass QC???? I think I'll take up guitar.....

    Output Questions

You can do the same thing using a Footswitch (attached), but you have to make a choice, to give up a Snapshot or a Footswitch, or use two Presets. There's no magic global setting that will do it for you. Test2ChannelMd2.hlx

    Output Questions

I'm sure this is just a language barrier thing, but I have no idea what you're saying. Are you saying "Yes, that solves the problem"? OR "No, I'd like to be taller"?

    Output Questions

Is this what you're after? EDIT: 2 Snapshots , Panned is the original, Center is the fix. Test2ChannelMod.hlx
  7. The Input Level should be around -18 to -12db. That is intentional, as it leaves headroom for post processing.

    Output Questions

Attach an example of a preset and I'll fix it for you.
  9. EVERY clean amp? I just tried US Double, Essex A30 and Jazz Rivet, no such problem. Please attach a preset where you've noticed this.
  10. Probably. Do a search on Ideascale. https://line6.ideascale.com/
  11. I'm having second thoughts about this. I was sure that I had it working at one time, and had tested it as mentioned above. Now I can't seem to make it work with ANY hardware! I've opened a support ticket. Will report back!
  12. I was sure I had this working, but you are correct. When combined with a PC#, the HXS Preset loads with the saved Snapshot, not the one specified in the Instant Command. Once loaded, you can change the HXS Snaps with the Helix Snaps, but not on load. I've opened a support ticket on this, let's see what support says about it. Could be a bug!
  13. 1) Yes, via MIDI 2) IDK 3) YouTube 4) https://line6.com/customtone/browse/hx_effects/
  14. PC and CC are separate messages. If the CC arrives before the preset change completes, it has no effect. There NEEDS to be a small gap to allow the change to take place.
  15. Another thing to try would be to use an A/B split and assign the Panning to a switch or snapshot.
  16. I've tested this using Helix to Stomp, FCB1010 to Helix and/or to Stomp, and recorded MIDI from a DAW to both Helix and/or Stomp. Works correctly every time. Probably timing as phil_m said.
  17. I don't allow MACs in my home, but I believe that Helix is Class Compliant. One of the MAC guys will chime in if I'm wrong.
  18. Don't use a Hub Do use a USB 2.0 port Try a different port If you're using a desktop use one of the ports on the rear Try a different USB cable Make sure your computer's Power Plan is set to Performance In Device Manager check that all USB Hubs' Power Management setting does NOT allow the Hub to turn off to save power Uninstall and reinstall HX Edit Make sure that the HX Edit version is v3.0, and that the Helix is on v3.01 Beat your computer severely with a baseball bat
  19. USB to MAC 1/4" Out to amp
  20. I think that MIDI commands, since they're sent to external devices, are handled differently than commands that affect internal functions. Probably to avoid confusing the robot! :-)

    Frequency settings

I assume you're talking about EQs. There's two types with differing functions, the EQ Block(s) you add to the signal chain, and the Global EQ. You add an EQ to the signal chain to fine tune the TONE of the Preset or Snapshot. You fiddle with the frequencies (google guitar frequencies) until it sounds good. When doing this, get it as close as possible with the Tone Stack on the amp (BassMidTreblePresence), then go to the EQ Block. If you want the EQ settings to be different depending on the Snapshot, you assign the EQ parameters to SNAPSHOTS (RTM!). The GLOBAL EQ is intended to be used to fine tune your overall sound to the room that you're playing in. You want to use this on the outputs connected to your stage monitor - amp, FRFR, whatever. You adjust this when you get to the venue. You DO NOT want to use it on the output that you're sending to FOH. EQing the FOH sound is the FOH engineer's job. Currently there's only one Global EQ. If you're using it on your stage monitor and for some reason the FOH engineer wants MORE HIGHS (or lows or whatever), you'll need to make a choice of where to assign the Global EQ. FOH is more important, but FOH usually has enough EQs available to handle it. If you're running your own sound from the stage, you'll need to learn from experience what gear you need.
  22. In that video he is NOT assigning multiple snapshots to the same footswitch, he's using multiple footswitches to select different snapshots. The functions of the Footswitches in Stomp Mode remain the same regardless of the SNAPSHOT you're in. IOW - in Stomp mode, regardless of the SNAPSHOT you're in, each of the Footswitches will always call the same SNAPSHOT assigned to it. You can't assign a single Footswitch to select a different SNAPSHOT in each SNAPSHOT. If you want to select SNAPSHOTS in STOMP MODE, you need to use a separate Footswitch for each SNAPSHOT. So, to get back to your original questions: Yes. No. As to the DONE button, in the video he's on v2.9. It appears to have been removed in v3.0. Since it's only function was to close the CommandCenter screen (NOT save the settings), and you can do that just by clicking on the main Window, it's unnecessary.
  23. Please provide a link to one (or more) of the videos that shows saving SNAPSHOTS differently across SNAPSHOTS. If it's possible, I want to know how to do it!
  24. Where does it say in the HX Edit Pilot's Guide that the SNAPSHOTS command can be saved differently PER SNAPSHOT? Yes, the MIDI CC that's sent can be different PER SNAPSHOT, and there may be other commands that work that way, all I'm saying is that the SNAPSHOT command does not appear to work that way, whether by design or otherwise, and I don't see where in the HX Edit Pilot's guide it says that it does. Or are you reading from a different manual?
